#Latergram. #FirstTimerAlert. Don's Sandwich Shop. Situated in the center of Boonton, NJ, this shop is run by husband and wife, and they make the best team. Parked on the street and walked up. Deli includes a section for drum sales, and music lessons. Outfitted with all the 'Joes' fixings, I walked into my advertisement, two other first timers walking to their table, hauling their sandwiches. Ordered the Sloppy Joe (Housemade Roast Beef, Turkey, Provolone, Cole Slaw, and Russian on Rye). Took it down with a Joe's Peach Tea and Salt & Vinegar Chips. Wow. What a Mammoth of a Sangwhich! Def will be back. Check it out!

Roast Beef , Turkey and Swiss Sloppy Joe!

I've read reviews of Don's Sandwich Shop and have wanted to get here for quite a while. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to stop in to pick up a sandwich for dinner. The storefront is located on Main Street in Boonton. There's street parking, you just need to search for a space. There's a drum set in the window. (I didn't ask but believe there's some affiliation with music lessons at the local school). I've read the Sloppy Joe's were very good, so I ordered a roast beef, turkey, and Swiss. When I got home and opened it, it was massive! The sandwich was excellent. It was so large, I saved half for today. The cold cuts were high quality and the Cole slaw on the sandwich topped it off perfectly! The woman behind the counter, who I believe is one of the owners, was very friendly. If you're in Boonton looking for a sandwich, Don's is the place to go!

Don't sleep on this mom and pop deli. This place knows how to make a good sandwich. The welcome you get from the friendly staff was just fun and nice. I got the chicken salad club. And it was so good. I can not remember the last time i had chicken salad and did not need to add salt or pepper. This was so good. The crispy bacon was a good touch for sure. There is only street meter parking and depending on the time you go. You may have to take a nice walk like I did. And believe me, it is very much worth the walk in the light rain. If you get the time and in the area. Give this place a chance to please your stomach.

Roastbeef, turkey, and swiss sloppy joe! They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Roastbeef, turkey, and swiss sloppy joe! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll try to be be brief as possible. Don's is located on Main Street in Boonton and is one of Boonton's many hidden gems when it comes to quality food and great customer service. Far from being a chain sandwhich shop, Don's is a must stop whenever you are craving a good sandwich in the area. Stop searching for other lunch contenders and stop in or call in your order. My sandwich was spectacular and very filling. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

One tray with onions, one without of Italian Subs

I needed Italian Subs cut into pieces to feed 20 firemen. I ordered by phone and Elizabeth and Pat had them all set up on two trays at pick up time. The guys raved about them and there wasn't any left!

Simply amazing. Prices are downright nasty (cheap). Don and his wife were super friendly and made me a monster of a sandwich. I'll definitely be back!

Potato salad, Cole slaw, pastrami sandwich

I'm not a sandwich guy, which is why my first trip here is years after moving into town. But my friend is, so I decided to give it a try. We ended up splitting a full pastrami sub with Swiss and mustard, potato salad and cole slaw on the side. The deets: * Top of the potato salad was a bit underdone. Potatoes slightly crunchy. Got better as I dug in. I don't think it was old at all - they appear to make everything fresh. Good flavor, just have to knock a star off for that. * Cole slaw was fine, not remarkable, no real flaws but not earning that 5th star. I think it was too creamy without enough vinegar bite to it for my taste. * The sub... The meat was good quality. It wasn't overflowing like some have suggested, but there was a decent amount of meat on decent bread. Bread wasn't really that special. Plenty of cheese to go around though! And a bit light on the mustard - I'll take the blame for that, since most people don't like their condiments as slathered as I do. * Desserts: Disappointed. Their menu suggests cookies and other sides, but the only things homemade appear to be the salads and slaw. The cookies were just Famous Amos bags. Someone mentioned "local" sodas - no, just "off-brand" is what you're going for. In the end, I'm not much of a sandwich guy, but there have been a select few places in my life that have compelled me to return. This was not one of them, as much as I wanted it to be. It's a 3.5 star review, but it's just not my bag, baby.

I always get a crispy chicken caeser wrap with mozzarella. The only issue is they don't wrap it right. It's a mess when I try to eat it.

Lunch panic averted -- and what a find!…read more I didn't bring lunch to work and was deep in the "what am I going to eat?" struggle when The Great Wazu popped up in my search. I'll admit, seeing that it was primarily a sandwich shop made me hesitate since I need gluten-free options. But I was thrilled to see they offer gluten-free bread -- and even more relieved when I spoke to the incredibly kind server who walked me through their celiac protocol. As someone who worries about cross-contamination, that conversation alone put me at ease. I originally planned to grab something quick and rush back to work, but I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the place is. For a strip mall location in Parsippany, there's actually plenty of seating, and the atmosphere feels welcoming and comfortable. Bonus: tons of parking, which is always appreciated. The menu has so many tempting options -- sandwiches, wraps, salads, chips, sweet treats, and beverages. Once I saw they had gluten-free bread, I may have gotten a little carried away and ordered two sandwiches: the Walnut Cranberry Chicken Salad and the Italiano. No regrets! Both were generously portioned and packed with flavor. I was especially impressed that they use four slices of gluten-free bread per sandwich -- which is thoughtful since GF slices tend to be smaller. For the price, that extra effort really stood out. I also grabbed a side of coleslaw and their homemade potato salad -- both fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the sandwiches. Friendly service, great gluten-free awareness, generous portions, and lots of variety -- I'm so glad I found this spot. I'll absolutely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

Sandwich was under $15 and was fairly substantial. Easily enough for me. Several tables inside. Its located in a place with ample parking.

We were greeted ebulliently by the very nice server, and the service was great throughout the meal, with two servers and the chef or manager (both?) checking on us. There is an extensive menu, from which I chose the Jersey Carbonara and my dining partner had the Shrimp and Pancetta Risotto. Both entrees were delicious and filling, The restaurant bakes delicious bread, which is light and fluffy and somehow tastes vaguely cheesy also. We rounded off our meal with what I hope was a decaf capuccino--one of the smoothest coffee drinks I've had the pleasure to sample--and a truffle with two kinds of ice cream and a little jujube inside. 10/10 would eat there again.

We were discussing burgers yesterday and Habit came up. I'd never eaten at one. He wanted one. Perfect. Pulls in at 8:45, takes a few minutes to figure out the ordering kiosk. I will therefore note this is an issue to anticipate. The order itself didn't seem to take too long. As for what came home with my friend: * Intrigued by the dragonfruit limeade. Would be something to keep in mind if I find myself at Habit again. * I enjoyed my burger. The patty was the weakest part, very plain and underwhelming. But the portabello mushroom and associated toppings? Mwah. That all made the sandwich. But the best burger places know how to make the meat score points. * My friend got the tempura green beans. Apparently those were just OK, maybe not tempuraed enough. I noticed when looking at the sides, every dipping sauce costs money besides ketchup packets (m'eh) and none of them really looked that interesting to me. So the upsides? Good value, tasty mushrooms. The downsides? Limited selections, uninspiring burger meat. I'll call it a strong 3 stars and if I do end up here (or another Habit) I will reconsider.
