Talk about the perfect spot to enjoy these delicious chili dogs and onion rings.... definitely pay them a visit :)
    Kimberly S.

I Have been dying for a chili dog for the longest time and since we were on the way to the park I did a quick yelp search and came across the J&M grill so I figured we'll give it a try. I ordered three chili dogs one without onions for me, an order of onion rings and two sodas. The sweetest lady was taking the orders at the counter and I felt right at home. My order was ready within a short time and the price was very reasonable. Then we were off to the park. We found a nice scenic spot to enjoy our lunch and it was great! My hubby practically finished his second hotdog before I took my second bite of mine...lol The onion rings were thick and crispy just how I like them. Plus my hubby enjoyed his birch beer which not too many places have. So all in all lunch was a success and I highly recommend the J&M grill...

We passed by this place many time, but never get the nerve to try.. i guess b/c i just though it's a food truck, nothing special... but was i wrong... My neighbor loves this place and they told us about it, and said we have to try.. so guess what, we have to try!! We came here early saturday afternoon, it already line up with people wanting to eat there... they have couple table around the truck, so people can sit and enjoy their meal hot!! Of course i can't make up my mind as what i should try!! so many choices, and so little "stomach"... so we went for the usual - taylor ham, egg, and cheese, and the not too usual - Italian hot dog with peppers, onion and potato... they were sooo good... it really hit the spot!! even my toddler couldn't stop eating it!! and of course i have to tell my neighbor that we went to try it out... and of course they told me i have to try their fries and splitter... well, guess what... we will be going back to eat that next... like my husband said... he has find the local gem and he can't wait to go back soon....

Well it's Friday, I'm off, so you know it's Hot Dog time! Found a place on Yelp I'd never known about for some reason even though it's about 20 minutes from my house. J&M Grill in Boonton is a great truck that offers water dogs (Sabrett's), grilled or splitters (Thumann's NC). I ordered two splitters (hot Texas wiener and chili/cheese) and one grilled with kraut, mustard and chili. All three dogs were pretty good, but once again I've proven to myself that I generally liked grilled more than deep fried dogs. The chili here at J&M is pretty good, not too spicy, but still tasty. The grilled dog simply had a bit more flavor because of the charring from the grill. I like that they have quite a bit of seating here and the ladies in the truck were awesome and very friendly. The only four words that matter - I will be back.

Pretty big cheeseburger on a nice toasted brioche bun. Others in my party liked the hot dogs. Hot dogs can be ordered steamed, grilled or deep fried. Lemonade was fresh and bit tart. Nice patio seating with 5-6 tables. Parking in the lot can be tight.

Had the cheese steak and onion rings. I ordered grilled onions and mushrooms with mine. Super yummy. Steak was plentiful and really easy to bite/chew. Perfect amount of cheese. Mushrooms we're grilled to al-dente and the onions were nice and sweet. The hogie roll had that perfect exterior crust you don't get outside of the NY/NJ/PA area with a sweated soft inside that pulled in all the juicy. Needless to say it was an excellent sandwich. The staff were efficient and having a good time. Friendly banter and good humor. A prior customer was either given or had taken the wrong order. They were annoyed to have to come back, but the staff really handled it well. I ordered onion rings as well and they were fantastic. The big fat ones that have sweet juicy onions inside. Perfectly fried and not greasy once they cooled enough to eat safely. Finally, wow CLEAN! Just looking in you see how clean the work area is. Not just uncluttered but clean. The flattop was immaculate and I watched the guy keeping it clean as they put out orders. Bit of advice- call your order in advance if the weather is not too your liking, otherwise on a beautiful day it's pleasant to sit and wait.

Got a hot dog and med fountain drink. Cost $4.11. Yes just for one hot dog and a drink. I do like Sabrett hot dogs over all of them but jeez not for that price. Otherwise I enjoyed it the girl behind the counter was nice. Probably will not come back because of the price.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

We ordered two TECs and a TEEC (IYKYK- Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese and a Taylor Ham double egg and cheese) and on a whim we grabbed a small container of macaroni salad. While prices have gone up since TeamTaylorNJ did his review in Instagram, the prices are still pretty good - $6.50 for the TEC, $7.25 for the TEEC. This place is a little out of the way for me, HOWEVER, the sandwich was better than my go-to place. They cooked the meat until there was a little char and it seemed like two slices of cheese vs one at my normal place. If this place wasn't in the opposite direction of work for me I'd be here once a week. Don't expect flashy here, this is an old school NJ deli...(seriously, WHY is this my first time here?!?). No bagel sandwiches here, only Kaiser rolls. They only take cash, but they have an ATM. The folks behind the counter get were super friendly and helpful. I will 100% be back here soon.

I remember it being an all-white plain fast food place, similar to the vibe of Five Guys. Well, this one's different, and maybe that's why it's one of the few Fudds still around. Much classier inside, wood paneled and amber lit. There's a back room for large parties or extra seating, or a cozy up-front section with comfy benches. Warning: the benches are low. Second warning: Fudds is still a place where you enter, walk up and order, and wait for your food. No table service. Some things don't change. Like the value. I ordered an ultimate bacon grilled cheese burger. Subbed elk and the price barely went up for that dark, meaty flavour. Ordered rare, they advised that they can't go below medium rare. Understood, and I went to wait. And wait. I could tell they make things fresh to order, and with a large 6-person order that came out just before mine, I'm sure that was the bulk of the wait. Burger arrived, I threw my veggies on for nutrition, some onion petal sauce for the fries (yup, just what you'd want to dip your onion rings into), and for good measure added cheese sauce to the four cheeses on the burger. Why not. Verdict: What a glorious burger Fudds makes. Even though they missed my request for a bun instead of the default Texas Toast - again, maybe thrown off by the large order before me - still delicious from beginning to end. The meat was indeed nice and dark pink inside, something most burgers fail to achieve. Deep rich elk taste throughout validated my upgrade. The fries are also top-notch - thick cut, seasoned well, and most importantly, unlimited! I went back for thirds, tried some different sauces each time, discovered the Cholula on the third attempt and realized I should have been slathering my food in that the whole time. But, with that, this was an incredibly long-overdue return, and I promise it won't be twenty-*mumble* something years before the next. I am so glad that not only has Fudds survived, but they've saved a location most convenient to me.
