Food was absolutely delicious The onion rings were freshly cooked, crispy and flavored perfectly I got a deep fried hotdog and it was an absolute treat! The crispy outer layer had the perfect crunch, while the juicy, flavorful sausage inside delivered that classic hotdog taste with a delicious twist. The combination of textures made each bite incredibly satisfying, and the seasoning was spot-on, their special mustard enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. this is a must-try. I Have been dying for a chili dog for the longest time and since we were on the way to the park I did a quick yelp search and came across the J&M grill so I figured we'll give it a try. I ordered three chili dogs one without onions for me, an order of onion rings and two sodas. The sweetest lady was taking the orders at the counter and I felt right at home. My order was ready within a short time and the price was very reasonable. Then we were off to the park. We found a nice scenic spot to enjoy our lunch and it was great! My hubby practically finished his second hotdog before I took my second bite of mine...lol The onion rings were thick and crispy just how I like them. We passed by this place many time, but never get the nerve to try.. i guess b/c i just though it's a food truck, nothing special... but was i wrong... My neighbor loves this place and they told us about it, and said we have to try.. so guess what, we have to try!! We came here early saturday afternoon, it already line up with people wanting to eat there... they have couple table around the truck, so people can sit and enjoy their meal hot!! Of course i can't make up my mind as what i should try!! so many choices, and so little "stomach"... so we went for the usual - taylor ham, egg, and cheese, and the not too usual - Italian hot dog with peppers, onion and potato... they were sooo good... it really hit the spot!! even my toddler couldn't stop eating it!! and of course i have to tell my neighbor that we went to try it out... and of course they told me i have to try their fries and splitter... well, guess what... we will be going back to eat that next... like my husband said... he has find the local gem and he can't wait to go back soon.... read more

Well it's Friday, I'm off, so you know it's Hot Dog time! Found a place on Yelp I'd never known about for some reason even though it's about 20 minutes from my house. J&M Grill in Boonton is a great truck that offers water dogs (Sabrett's), grilled or splitters (Thumann's NC). I ordered two splitters (hot Texas wiener and chili/cheese) and one grilled with kraut, mustard and chili. All three dogs were pretty good, but once again I've proven to myself that I generally liked grilled more than deep fried dogs. The chili here at J&M is pretty good, not too spicy, but still tasty. The grilled dog simply had a bit more flavor because of the charring from the grill. I like that they have quite a bit of seating here and the ladies in the truck were awesome and very friendly. I cant believe I have lived around here the longest and just recently heard about this food truck. The food was great. We bought a rib eyed cheesesteak, chicken cheesesteak, hamburger and fries. Everything was fresh, tasted great, very filling and reasonably priced! it was fresh off the grill and still hot when I got home. These are some of the best cheesteaks around!!! Pretty big cheeseburger on a nice toasted brioche bun. Others in my party liked the hot dogs. Hot dogs can be ordered steamed, grilled or deep fried. Lemonade was fresh and bit tart. Nice patio seating with 5-6 tables. Parking in the lot can be tight. read more

Had the cheese steak and onion rings. I ordered grilled onions and mushrooms with mine. Super yummy. Steak was plentiful and really easy to bite/chew. Perfect amount of cheese. Mushrooms we're grilled to al-dente and the onions were nice and sweet. The hogie roll had that perfect exterior crust you don't get outside of the NY/NJ/PA area with a sweated soft inside that pulled in all the juicy. Needless to say it was an excellent sandwich. The staff were efficient and having a good time. Friendly banter and good humor. A prior customer was either given or had taken the wrong order. They were annoyed to have to come back, but the staff really handled it well. I ordered onion rings as well and they were fantastic. The big fat ones that have sweet juicy onions inside. Perfectly fried and not greasy once they cooled enough to eat safely. Finally, wow CLEAN! Just looking in you see how clean the work area is. Not just uncluttered but clean. The flattop was immaculate and I watched the guy keeping it clean as they put out orders. After searching through multiple caterers, we really appreciated the time Mary took to speak about individual options and the customization of a menu, instead of an email inquiry. We drove to Boonton to create a menu and taste a couple of things. Working with Mary was easy and she was very transparent in the process. We ultimately went with J&M and could not be happier with the decision. Mary helped us figure out how much food would work for our crowd and also the timing of service and every detail. We were beyond blessed to have Karen and Jen working our party. The food was incredible, but the service really took the experience over the top! We ENJOYED our party, food, guests, instead of running around like crazy! The variety of offerings was perfect for our crowd, everything was delicious and we have already given J&M's name to another friend for their party! 2nd visit to J&M and it feels like they've redeemed themselves a bit. This time a young girl was manning the counter. She was quick, thorough, and made sure to tell what came with what ie you need to order fries separate. She got my order totally correct and it was ready to go in about 10 minutes. I got the pork loin special, pork loin, broccoli rabe, and melted provolone, hubs got the cheesesteak and fries. Everything was delicious and made well. A heavy meal for sure, not incredibly cheap either--about $20 for what we got, but at the same time it was definitely homemade and fresh so I can't really complain. Thank you for taking grandma off the register. I wish you guys had later hours or Sunday hours but hopefully I'll be able to stop by again soon for a tasty bite. read more

I love this place. It is a Boonton Classic already in my humble opinion. Think along the lines of a Rutgers Grease Truck with not as much orginality on creative sandwiches, sticking more with the traditionals like, Philly Cheesesteak, Italian Hot Dog, Burgers, etc.... They are best known for their Philly Cheesesteaks. They are the best in the area to my taste buds. I also love the Breaded Chicken Cutlet Sandwich with Lettuce, Mayo, Tomato and Onion. They do great fries too, they know we like em crispy and they always are with a nice dose of salt! The only thing I would not recommend is the Chili Dog or Chili Cheese fires, no good at all, but, everything else on that menu is very, very good. read more

We love the Daily specials created by owner/cook extraordinaire Mary, they are a once-a-week must for lunch (they also serve breakfast). Everything is very tasty and made to your order.
