First time trying this place. I came at 6:00 on a Wed night. Mostly door dash people picking up. I placed my order and the guy says 15 mins because they cook fresh. Ordered 2 piece breast and wing with 2 sides then went in my car and read reviews. Starting we elite then newest reviews and started to get nervous. So, my experience was definitely not that of others. The chicken was perfectly golden and crispy while moist inside. The crust had a peppery undertone to the seasoning that I liked. Broccoli was fresh bright green with a little crunch. Rare to find broccoli that hasn't been overcooked at a take out. Potato and garlic was tasty but drowning in butter. The cornbread was moist and slightly sweet not giving me a dry cough. Not sure about others. But when I go to a chicken joint they better get the fry right (I'm not here for the mac and cheese and someone mentioned). They nailed it tonight maybe because I ordered and picked it up fresh. This company sent their own driver instead of an Uber driver and one of the reasons the person I spoke to on the phone with said was because using Uber drivers they don't make as much money. Ordered online and picked up in-store. Fast and friendly service. The food tasted so fresh and filling. My girlfriend ordered 1/4 dark meat chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli and I ordered white meat with a side of mashed potatoes and string beans (gravy & sauce came on the side which was much appreciated.) We also ordered a Ceasar salad (dressing on the side) and popcorn chicken. We were so full over our meal that we saved our side orders. I ordered $30 worth of food to be delivered. When the food arrives I was shocked how small the portions were. Let me give you an example. As a side dish I ordered corn bread. I thought, as most people would, that it would be a nice sized square. Nope! If I say it was the tiniest little muffin I had ever seen it would be no exaggeration!! Some food like the chicken was basic but no taste. I could have gone into the supermarket and picked up the same thing. Just be aware of these facts prior to ordering. I love love places like this where you have the option to be healthy (grilled/rotisserie chicken and vegetable sides) BUT you can also get something a little more fun (fried/crispy chicken). Mac and cheese at a chicken place is vital - it needs to be good and you will be judged by your mac and cheese. This is nottttttttt it. So bland, so boring. Tasteless. The noodle consistency was great, but WHERE IS THE FLAVOR. The wrap was also disappointing. Didn't really taste like caesar. Order up a roast chicken and choose from a large selection of sides. There are healthy options, or you can take a heartier route and order things like mac and cheese or creamed spinach. I'm partial to the red roasted potatoes and the garlicky broccoli. Cornbread comes with every meal and is also a fave. In addition to the classic roast chicken / sides, there are a bunch of other options like chicken tenders, burritos, wraps, etc. You really can't go wrong with anything. It's a small quick service joint with no seating areas. Roast chicken and sides are already prepared behind the counter, so everything is ready super fast. For you rotisserie puritans this may not foul your fowel.. but I prefer bold flavors. They go so light on the seasoning I need to rely on sauce to give their bird any flavor. Let's roll with it. This is sort of a hometown Boston Market. It advertises itself as Latin or Latin-inspired, but it's a mishmash of southern, Latinx, and Northeastern. I got a variety of food and present the good, the bad, the wtf: * Chicken: It's in the name, so it has to be the star of the show. And while it was very flavorful and cooked just right, the skin was all moist and icky like at Boston Market. Pollos Pucalor knows how to make a thin, crispy skin on a well-cooked bird. * Cornbread: Sure. Not the best I've ever had, but solid. And yes, I've had bad cornbread. You can mess it up. * Stuffing (side): I was mostly a fan, but it was a bit salty for my liking. It is very thick and bready, and moist. That's how I like my stuffing, but you may or may not. * Creamed spinach (side): Not a fan. It was simultaneously salty and lacked flavor outside of that. It was also very thick, which is good in a stuffing but not good in a creamed vegetable. And yes, I know creamed vegetables are thick by nature. This is really gooey and almost gelatinous. I'd veer to a different side next time. * Green salsa: Avoid it. Do not ask for any. It's totally artificially colored with tiny specks of bright green something, and it doesn't taste good. Verdict: 3.4 stars. It's a solid step up from Boston Market, but like Boston Market, it's clearly geared toward Caucasian tastes. Go down the road to Pollos Pucalor for more flavor and overall better food. But you don't need to throw a fit if you're being dragged here. read more

I've tried so many Fire Roasted dishes. The sides are excellent, all of the protein is fresh and delicious, and it's very affordable for the portion size. I haven't found a dish I don't like. Highly recommend the chipotle chicken wrap meal with two sides. My personal indulgence sides, sweet potatoes and corn. Can't go wrong with the broccoli or creamed spinach either. This place is great for take out and delivery. Unfortunately there's no room for seating. There is also online ordering. I had the Grilled Chicken Platter which came with corn bread and two sides. The grilled chicken was seasoned very well and very juicy. I wish there was a little bit more char on it but I'm sure I can ask them to do that next time around. Their mac n cheese was great and went really well with their cornbread. The cornbread is a little sweeter than I'm used to but it was great. My original review from now almost 7 years ago was how good the food was. I don't know if the place has changed hands,but wow. This place rightfully bragged about the la frieda formula meat. The problem started w ordering the three burgers we wanted. I ordered a cheddar burger ,which I have gotten in the past, and the person on the phone claimed they never had cheddar, only American ( meanwhile when I picked the order up, it was on their menu displayed). The burgers themselves were almost not edible. They were two tiny patties, nothing like they used to have, like the size of a regular McDs burger. They didn't have the flavor and were dry,almost burned. Honestly it tasted like they cheapened up and went with frozen patties. I can't speak to the rest of the food but the burgers we got ,which used to be their point of pride, were dismal. Looking at the operation of the place I wonder if the original owner has sold out or is not involved, the service was kind of chaotic and looking at the sides they didn't look the same as we had back then. I hope I am wrong, bc there already are too few really good places around, especially burgers. read more

Tried this place today and I ordered Family Meal #7 (whole chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs, cornbread and 2 sides). I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, the baby back ribs were falling off-the-bone tender and the sauce was tasty. As for sides, I got the creamed spinach (which was a bit bland to my liking but a lil' dash of salt helped) and cornbread was surprisingly good (I say that coz I have family from the south and as you know southerners know how to make em ). Their prices are also very reasonable. I'll definitely come back and support this business again. (Note, they don't have a dine-in area.) read more

I ordered the 1/4 chicken (dark) with two sides and a piece of cornbread for $8. For sides, I ordered the Cream of Spinach and the Mac & Cheese. The sides were both not only bland, they were clearly not homemade...just some bulk-purchased Restaurant Depot garbage. The chicken had clearly been pre-cooked, and then reheated. How a place that allegedly specializes in chicken can dry out chicken thigh is beyond unacceptable... The corn bread was so dried out that it crumbled when I picked it up. We ordered DoorDash for our office and since your DoorDash menu does not show creamed spinach and pulled chicken in the menu your website does, we put it in the notes. We actually paid more than the website price for the pulled chicken so it should not have been a problem. They did not follow the notes or even bother to read them. I called and a very rude man in a Spanish voice claimed to be the manager and that they were out of spinach (highly doubtful) and then proceeded to argue with me over the notes that he did not read on the order then hung up when I requested they send a proper replacement or refund.
