    MINDBENDING 39. Sesame Chicken
    Ariel D.

Solid take out Excellent sesame chicken if not one of the best IN THE STATE - superbly crispy, deliciously fragrant with ample notes of Chili in the sauce - my only quip being the synthetic sweetness Hot and Sour Soup - magnificent! I do wish the service wasn't as rude but what are you gonna do (kind of got yelled at) However, it's worth the sesame chicken Chicken in garlic sauce not as much...

Solid spot for your typical Chinese American food. From what I understand, they moved to this new plaza and opened up quite recently. The food is your typical Chinese American menu, so they have all the classics you would expect. The price is very fair and the portions are big. I ordered a combo meal for a little more than 8 bucks and had enough for 2 meals easily. I also asked them to make it spicy and they were happy to oblige. I ordered the shrimp combo and they were really generous on the shrimp. The crab rangoons were pretty solid as well. The food also came out pretty fast. I ordered for pick up and it was ready within 10 minutes. I would recommend this place as it's family run and re-opened up during COVID times. Support your small businesses!

I could not view reviews of dishes, so had to step outside to take a peak. Cannot justify paying such prices for dinning in a tiny, dark space in half-basement in the middle of NJ. Just can't. The portions are generous, which is good. But the prices are still outrageous for the location and vibe. It is BYOB for alcohol. We walked in on Sunday at 6pm without reservations and by 7pm, the small space filled up. The $12 hummus was bad. Store bought hummus of the cheapest brand tastes better. Seriously don't understand how a hummus can taste so bland and meh. No seasoning? The pita that came with it was low quality--it gave my friend an allergic reaction right away [he has sensitivity towards poor quality flour products]. $44 paidakia--lamb chops--had 4 chops that were tender and delicate. Pasnip pure was bland and totally a miss--did nothing to complement anything on the plate. Barely any demi lace sauce--definitely on the dry side. Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.

The four dishes came out at the same time just like what we asked and I should say everything was amazing!! The short rib was exactly like what other reviews described. Very tender and flavorful! My daughter normally is not a fan for any kind of meat but she almost ate half of it! Calamari also had very special taste and we liked it too. For dessert, it's such a surprise that i got a giant ice cream donut bowl on the house for my birthday on the house, and it's super yummy! My daughter ordered a s'more brownie with ice cream. Both my husband and she enjoyed very much. We highly recommend this place and definitely will be back soon.

First, overall I'd say the food was very good on all five visits. The first two nights, I had dinner here. On the first night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a bowl of the French onion soup and the halibut. The soup wasn't huge for $12, but it tasted good, and the halibut was quite flavorful. I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.

The space on the first floor is divided into a lively bar area with plenty of TVs and a slightly quieter main dining room with comfortable booths and tables. There is also seating on an outdoor terrace on the second floor and a few tables in front of the restaurant on South Street if you're up for dining al fresco. It's a terrific option in Morristown that's sophisticated enough for a date on the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperates or a pre-theater meal in the dining room, yet casual enough for beers and appetizers while watching a game in the bar area. The menu captures the essence of modern American comfort food. Whether you're grabbing the Stirling Burger ($18) -- made from a tasty short rib and brisket blend -- or splurging on the Grilled New York Strip ($48) topped with crabmeat fries, the quality is evident. They are also great with dietary restrictions. Between the various poultry, fish, and vegetarian options on the menu and the kitchen's willingness to make moderate accommodations in any other dish, there's something for everyone. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. We recently celebrated my niece's 21st birthday here, and our server made it memorable by honoring her milestone birthday by playfully asking for her ID EVERY SINGLE TIME she ordered a drink. It became a running joke for the night and made the occasion feel extra special. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars for me is that both sides of the main floor can get pretty loud when it's packed and the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Stirling Tavern offers a Happy Hour Monday through Friday between 3pm and 6pm, which features specials on certain cocktails, wines, beers, and light snacks. You must be seated at the bar to take advantage of the promotional pricing. If you enjoy a good Old Fashioned, try the JB ($10), made with Four Roses bourbon, blood orange amaro, orange & angostura bitters. PRO TIP #2: Stirling Tavern does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of paid on-street parking on South Street or Maple Avenue. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, paid parking is also available in the Morristown Parking Authority Lot #8 (@ 10 Franklin Street) and Vail Parking Area (@ 110 South Street). FREE on-street parking is located on MacCulloch Avenue, just two blocks from Stirling Tavern.
