Updating and old post- consistently solid sushi with a great price. Super fresh, always.

Sushi rolls were excellent. Service was pretty decent for a busy Friday night, and it's tough with all of their mobile orders. Love the half price deal making it affordable for a bunch of med students on a budget.

The best tasting sushi, great service, and huge cash discount. We've been coming here for years at least once a week. Jason is the hardest working and most friendly server ever. BYOB. Don't hesitate, go now.

You can't go wrong with Masago. The staff is so inviting and welcoming. Every time I go I find something to try on the menu. The best thing about this place is the half-price rolls if you pay cash. I have a running list on my phone of all my favorites. I also tried a noodle dish today for the first time. The only thing that I dont like is sometimes it can be hard to find parking

Great options and delicious sushi. First time having sushi with brown rice and it was great.

Hands down one of the BEST sushi spots I've been to! The menu is easy to navigate and has great selections of sushi rolls to please all crowds. Our server was awesome with answering our questions and helping to accommodate any preferences we had. They have awesome prices as well. The only challenging part was finding parking.

3 roll Maki Lunch with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and eel roll

Got a 3 maki roll lunch special with miso soup for takeout, and the price was only about $12 with the cash discount which I initially thought was a good value. The rolls seemed pretty fresh, but it seems they're mixing the fish with a bunch of filler. The spicy tuna and salmon were mixed with what seemed like a lot of panko breadcrumbs which gave the rolls a slightly weird texture. The eel rolls were a bit better, but I still felt they were trying to skimp on ingredients. Maybe the entrees or non-lunch items are better but this was just okay.

We love this place although once we were waiting our order for 40 minutes. But still food is good there, place is nice and online order is comfy. We recommend this place for friends, family and maybe for dates if you like small and simple (in design) places.

We eat here at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Everything is always fresh, service is friendly and fast and the best part up to 50% when you pay cash on most items.

Great prices and portions! Good if you are looking for a casual dinner at a low price. Both items came with a side of rice, and the tofu teriyaki came with soup & salad (great deal!). It's BYOB as well. We went on a Friday and had to wait ~20 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad.

We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.

You owe it to yourself to get that dish at least once in your life. I can also recommend... basically anything with the word Malay attached, which tells me the other dishes are probably also good if that's your style. Well today, I'm ordering takeout to start my holiday a little sooner, but service is prompt and friendly. They're happy to answer your questions and offer advice on your order. They recommended me away from getting something breaded to go, as being covered would steam the crispiness away. How thoughtful. So as my meal gets ready to join me, I'll keep you updated with how much I love this place: It's back in my regular rotation of local restaurants.

Thankfully, Mintea just a quick drive north on Ridgedale Avenue in Morris Plains has completely filled the void left by Laku's untimely demise. While the dining area's minimal decor clearly prioritizes function over atmosphere, the food and service are where this place truly stands out. The menu runs the gamut of Asian cuisines -- covering Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam -- and every single thing we've tried is incredibly well-executed. My dining companion and I have ordered everything from sushi to soups and noodle dishes and nothing misses the mark. The service is also terrific. The servers are genuinely friendly and attentive without ever being overbearing. One of the long-tenured servers always asks my dining companion how her father is doing -- because he had joined us once for dinner at Mintea a few years ago. If you're looking for a reliable, delicious spot that hits all the right notes, Mintea is a fantastic addition to the rotation. PRO TIP #1: Bring cash. Mintea offers a discount for using cash to pay for your meal.

I've tried a variety of sushi, and it's always fresh and delicious. The rice dishes are great too, and I especially love the wonton soup, which uses thin pasta instead of the thick noodles that most spots serve. I also tried the Pad Thai, but it wasn't really my favorite because the noodles weren't my preferred type, and the shrimp were a bit large and gummy. That said, overall this is a really great sushi spot that I'll happily return to for their consistently fresh sushi and flavorful dishes weekly.

Some nights we love it but nights like tonight, where we ate there, was totally just fine. Grilled calamari was rubber. Gyoza was tasty but not hot enough. Edamame fine. Our table of three was immediately seated at a very clean table, and the servers were on top of our every need. Very attentive to refreshing drinks, offering water, and our need for more time to review the offerings on the menu. Food is very good, some of the best sushi I've had in the area and most authentic to what you likely would receive in Japan. The prices are not quite a match to the quality, however. While everything seemed super fresh, i's So expensive. The lobster roll was tremendous, but at $24 it was by far the most expensive piece I've ever ordered. I may do it again if I return, not sure. When dressed up with the rice and caviar, it's hard to taste the actual lobster and you could have placed scallop or cod in there and I may not have known. Drinks - very expensive. Mixed drink is $14 and served in a super-sized shot glass at best. I can easily think of three other great Sushi venues within 10 miles that are BYO and far less for not much less in quality....but I'm glad I tried it. This would be a five star review with more reasonable prices. If their goal is to differentiate and keep the riff-raff out with high prices, they will likely succeed in that. So sorry, I didn't take one photo!! Unlike me...

It's around $13 per banh mi which is a little higher than some places, but the quality and portion make it worth it 100%. I got the S1 and S8. The S1 was really good and something I would definitely order again. It's my husband's favorite. The S8 was the chicken and it came out warm with steam! A lot of other places make it but it's still cold. I also liked how fresh the ingredients taste. Service takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the order to come out just as a heads up. One Only small critique is the bread. While I like a crispy baguette, this one is a bit too crunchy and can cut the roof of your mouth a little. So don't gobble it down fast like I did. If they made it just slightly less aggressive it would be perfect. Overall I would definitely go back for more.

Parking can be a bit tricky given its location near a major road, but there is metered parking right out front. One thing I really appreciated was the thoughtful packaging. Instead of wrapping everything in paper/foil (which traps steam and softens the bread), they use takeaway containers that keep the banh mi bread crispy and intact. The portions are generous! I don't think I've ever had a bahn mi with so much protein! I personally asked for extra cilantro on some of the sandwiches which is why the cilantro looks so obnoxious in the pictures. Everything was solid and satisfying! The lemongrass chicken bahn mi stood out with its aromatic flavor. The Saigon special bahn mi though, could've used a bit more presence from the mayo and pate to enhance the flavors. Sounds weird, but surprisingly, the sardines in tomato sauce bahn mi was better than it sounds. It was savory and definitely worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. The summer rolls were fresh, clean, and a great complement to the sandwiches. My only note: I wish the pickled carrots and radish had a bit more tang. They leaned mild rather than punchy. Overall, a reliable spot with thoughtful touches and flavorful options. I'd come back again.
