The meal also came with rice which was pretty unnecessary but nice to come with. I really, really liked the white tuna. It was my favorite sashimi on the menu. The place is even BYOB with a liquor shop next door. The service here was pretty quick. Beware; however, it does get super busy around 1pm. I had tuna avocado roll, rock shrimp, and a salad with ginger dressing. The tuna was good enough quality. The rock shrimp was alright...it was a little chewy and borderline rubbery...wouldn't get it again. The salad was what I expected and hoped for - cold, crunchy, and the cucumber cut into curved chunks without the seeds. This place is the hidden gem of Morristown. I paid cash and got the sushi for half price in the deal of the CENTURY. Not only was it a great deal but the sushi was top notch. There were numerous sushi chefs working the line and the place was busy which is always a good sign. Super fresh sushi pieces and the roll was dynamite. I remember thinking the yellowtail in particular was magnificent, super fresh, and incredibly flavorful. There are handful of sushi restaurants in the Morristown area, but Masago just happens to be the first one on my way to the green, so I decided to stop in and check it out. It is your standard fare sushi template location, dark, romantically lit with a lot of tables to accommodate guests. As with most sushi places these days, they have a 50% off lunch menu if you pay by cash, so make sure you've got some on hand before you head here. I ordered the sashimi special, replaced the california rolls with eel rolls, and the salad with seaweed salad, and I really can't complain. The sashimi isn't the most amazing I've ever tasted, but it was still fresh, and for the price, you can't beat it. The other sushi spots in the area are much more upscale and pricey, so this is your best value bet in the area.
