    Mega Sampler (3-4 People)
    Laurel W.

Staff were friendly enough, building was very nice. Wood on the walls was a nice touch for the rustic cowboy vibes along with the hats. Food came out quick with a good size amount of food. Got the mega/ family meal (3-4) people. I was a bit disappointed in the food, the turkey and coleslaw I enjoyed, along with the pulled pork. But the ribs, brisket, and jalapeño sausage were not my favorite.

Here's the deal tucked at the end of a strip mall that unassuming barbecue pit is serving some delicious food They have sampler platters, which give you a great option to taste a variety of delicious barbecue food. The place is very clean. The people are friendly. Great spot They also provide catering !!

Texas Trinity Family Combo w/ mac and cheese side, waffle fries.

We ordered takeout from here and got the Texas Trinity Combo, which comes with with brisket, ribs, cheddar jalapeño sausage, cornbread, pickles, and one side. The brisket was cooked perfectly and was very tender, but not too fatty. The ribs were very smoky and tasty, and also also very tender. I was not a huge fan of the cheddar jalapeño sausage, and found it to be a bit salty, but this may be due to personal preference, as I don't usually like sausage anyways. We chose the mac and cheese as our side, and although I wish we got a bit more, it was delicious. We also added on waffle fries and the corn & black bean salad. The fries came a little soggy, probably from the car ride home, but we threw them in the toaster oven and they crisped right back up. I was not a huge fan of the corn and bean side, which was a bit plain and seemed expensive ($4) for how small and plain it was. The entire meal was more than enough for dinner for 2 people, with leftovers for lunch, and only cost around $40 total , which i thought was a great deal. Althought I can't speak to the dine-in experience, the service for takeout was very polite and our order was ready almost immediately. My husband also said the inside looked very cute and he would like to return to try dining in.

Burger with lettuce, tomato & chipotle mayo. Side of 'crispy fries' and pickles.

New restaurant that opened up in the area so I wanted to give it a try. I called my order in for pick up. The person that answered the phone was pleasant & helpful. I subbed the chips the meals came with for fries. The burger was pretty small, way more bun than burger. It was also pretty dry. The 'crispy fries' were not crispy at all, and dry. They give you 3 different bbq sauces on the side, which came in handy for the fries. The mac & cheese brisket and pulled bbq pork sandwiches were ok, as were the ribs. The rib platter was supposed to come with cornbread but it unfortunately was missing from the bag.

We were in the mood to support another local #SmallBusiness. @BigDudesBigFoods took a little ride up to @TheBBQPitNJ in #HackettstownNJ for a couple of #JalapenoCheddar Sausage and #SmokedTurkey #samiches . Both are NEW menu items and both are juicy and delicious . The #homemade #HushPuppies with #MapleButter were amazing as were the #DeepFried cornbread bites. Of course, we had to try the chicken wings and were not disappointed. Robert, Stephanie and the gang really made us feel at home. We even got an early peek at the new place, two doors down, coming in 2026. If you are looking for some tasty BBQ in the Hackettstown area, look no further. #ThePitBBQ is it. #BigDudesBigFoods #SupportSmallBusiness #BDBFCertified #BDBF

The servers are nice, but the food is very very expense and overrated, it's nothing special, but the restaurant is very themed with bbq.

This smoke house is on fire! Loved the food, attention and atmosphere!…read moreAs soon as I entered the place I knew it was going to be a real experience; the decor is rustic but cheerful; I was intrigued by the different barbecue sauce containers displayed all over and their home made pickles offerings. The place is veteran owned and has been in business for a while! All the choices on the menu are mouth watering good! After serious consideration we settled on sharing the Trinity platter which came with brisket, spare ribs and sausage links. We opted out of the sausage and upgraded the platter with pastrami. The Texas Trinity platter also comes with choices of pickles, one small sized side, we had Mac and Cheese, and 2 rolls. The portions were satisfying and good to share. The meats, oh my! All were smoked and cooked to perfection! Moist, juicy, and tender! Even better, they were seasoned so well there is no need for the also perfect sauces they offer! What an amazing experience at Red White n Que Smoke House! From the friendly and attentive service to their amazing smoked meats! All was top notch real at this place! Check it out, it will not dissapoint!

I ordered a 1/2 pound pastrami sandwich and a side of creamy slaw. I did ask for a cup of water too, since they can give you free tap water. But back to the sandwich, it game on a tray where it was a puddle of grease on the paper. I don't normally eat so greasy so it took me by surprise and I pushed on through since I wanted to try it. Biting into it, felt like a struggle for some reason. Maybe it was too much meat but it was also just salty to the point where I was coughing a little. They have several types of sauces that helped it come together nicer. And the creamy slaw washed it down. On its own, I just could not finish the sandwich. Someone at my table got 1/4 pound pastrami but not the sandwich. It should have been similar to my sandwich but I had them try it. They said my sandwich was so salty that they may have even salted the bread too. It made me think I was just unlucky with my order as the salt built up in my sandwich. It is a very popular place, so I think I should try a different item, but my sandwich did not sit well with me.

The macaroni and cheese had the perfect combination of cheeses. I had the breakfast scramble...tasted like a crustless quiche. The star of the show was the fried chicken. Our server seemed overwhelmed. Another server didn't comprehend or speak English well. Also the bartender left during our stay-so my party didn't order additional drinks. Once seated and prior to ordering, we received a lovely basket of sweet potato muffins and a buttermilk biscuit drizzled with honey. They were absolutely delicious! The very friendly chef came to our table to welcome us, and talk about these special muffins. We were also warmly greeted by the restaurant manager. As for our meal, we had 2 orders of the chicken and waffles, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, and the waffles were light and fluffy. The macaroni and cheese was also delicious, but the greens were very heavily salted. Overall, the portions were generous. As for the live entertainment, it perhaps begins later in the afternoon, maybe after 2pm? Our reservation was at 1pm, and the guitarist arrived just as we were finishing our meal. My one critique is the reservation process. The only take reservations by phone, and during the limited hours that they are open. The person with whom I made my reservation made some errors. Fortunately, another staff member contacted me twice the day prior to my reservation to clarify the time and date. Having the ability to use an online reservation platform would have been easier and more accurate.

We were actually supposed to go on vacation but apocalyptic weather at our destination meant that every flight to that region was cancelled or severely delayed and ain't nobody got time for that so we decided to take a staycation instead. It felt only right to do the thing we would have done on vacation and go out for dinner. TBH we're old now so vacation or not, we eat on the earlier side of things. I think we went at around 5:30pm. Ample amount of seating available at that time. They have quite a large menu with many intriguing options. Unfortunately, only vegetarian main I recall was the mac and cheese. Instead, I settled on the santa fe salad for my main and GF the lettuce tacos for hers. The appetizer menu was particularly appetizing but we had to settle on two so we went with the spicy cauliflower and brie-stuffed pretzel. The spicy cauliflower was flavored aggressively, in a positive kind of way. The accompanying ranch brought everything together. You also can't go wrong with a brie stuffed pretzel. I don't typically like sweet in what is traditionally a savory flavor profile but the fig jam really added a welcome new dimension. Santa fe salad was gigantic. I actually was able to eat the rest of it for dinner on the following night. Absolutely loaded with goodies like avocado, corn, cheese, black beans, scallions, tomatoes. What a combo of flavors and textures in that thing. GF enjoyed all of the tacos except for nashville hot chicken but she isn't a big fan of chicken to begin with. I was especially impressed by their drink menu. They have a literal "smoked" menu which I could not pass up. I went with the southern smoke which is out of character for me because I typically don't get bourbon (for a reason...and i suffered later). This drink packed a fucking PUNCH. My goodness. There is no candy land bullshit juice drinks here, you definitely get your money's worth. There was a touch of a time period between when I finished my drink and was asked if I wanted another but at least they did ask. Ultimately a good experience. I do wish they had some vegetarian mains but if you aren't vegetarian and like southern food you would probably enjoy tremendously.

The food was out quick, the service was great and they checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good. The food was great, not too Smokey (like liquid smoke), and the different BBQ side options were excellent. The Mac n Cheese was some of the best I've ever had out.
