I'm not from around Hackettstown and didn't have coins with me to feed the street meters, and the small private parking lot was full -- but to my good fortune a couple of men gave me four quarters (I paid them back despite their demurring; a good omen). Versac is a fairly small space with several tables. It has a nice vibe and (not to my taste) rather loud music. I ordered an arepa with white cheese and scrambled eggs, and coffee (served in a paper cup with milk foam). The coffee was excellent, the food very good. Service was a little spotty, but acceptable (not a deal breaker). If I find myself in the area again I would certainly go back for a meal: the menu is extensive and I would love to try several other dishes. Quite an enjoyable meal, and a good value. Went exploring and to see the Fall leaves in Hackettstown and just came across this little cafe because mostly that was the only thing open that early in the morning. As we walked in, we were greeted very friendly and they gave us the table right away. First was the drink orders, dad got the cappuccino, I got iced caramel latte and my mom got the lemonade, which were all GREAT!! Then we ordered the food and everything is freshly made! The quality of the food was excellent. I ordered the mini beef empanadas and home fries. The empanadas were delicious! Definitely worth going back if in the area just for those. Main Street Cafe is very cute and quaint. I stopped by on a late Saturday morning before it got crowded, I was very excited for the Arepas con queso, but for me they were just okay. I also got the Tostones con queso, and for me, again, it was just okay. The reason I gave it four stars is because the omelette we had was excellent. I was kind of surprised that the Arepa and Tostones weren't better and that the omelet was good, but alas, I highly recommend getting the omelet. It was very good. Their baked goods look yummy, but we ate too much and didn't have room. Coffee is good, but not great. The service was very good. I wish I could give it more stars. read more

i love the food here, and have been going here for a while. after my last experience i will not be going back. I ordered a sandwich for pick up, i got home and took a bite of my sandwich and noticed it tasted extremely odd. I opened up the sandwich to find mold on every piece of the cheese, and the gray meat. I called back to tell them about the order and they gave me a hard time saying I had to bring the sandwich back in order to get a refund. Eventually I brought the sandwich back to show them, i asked for a manager and they told me there was no manager. When i went to show them the sandwich no one said a word to me. After this, i will not be going back. They usually have great food, but this was disgusting. read more

First time I came the food and coffee were great, but their waitress was such a flirt that she ignored me when I requested a box and stretched my hand to get it when she came back just for her to pretend I wasn't there and hand it to my bf (now ex lol). Second time I went was last month (waitress wasn't there yay!) their service was good, but their food? The arepas weren't great and their coffee made me and my friend sick to our stomach. I called following up on a grub hub order and the person handling my call was having a difficult time understanding my request and identifying my order which was not the problem. We talked briefly and she continued to say that the order was already completed ( I called immediately after placing the order) and that someone was there to pick the food up already. I explained to them that it was a new order submitted through grub hub and I just wanted to make a change to one of the items because the option to edit it was not available in the app. When I requested to speak to someone else regarding the grub hub order she became agitated and hung up on me as I was trying to explain that I didn't want mushrooms on one of the items. I called back and was greeted by another person who assured it wasn't an issue to remove the mushrooms. She then said that they had run out of rolls for the other 2 items on my order. She offered to change the bread for the sandwiches and I agreed that it would be fine and thanked her for her help. Fast forward to when the order was delivered- we only received an omelet from the order. When I looked at the receipt, they cancelled the two sandwiches and sent a single omelette without toast or home fries. I called to ask why the order was canceled and was immediately hung up on. I didn't call back after as I chalked it as someone having a bad day. It's unfortunate that I was spoken to and treated poorly over a request that I politely asked for. Easily the most unusual pancakes and sausage breakfast I've ever had, primarily because of the sausage. Absolutely not seasoned like breakfast link sausage, but delicious none the less. The apple turnover was light, crispy and flaky. They whipped the coffee (I'm sure there's a name for the preparation, I just don't know it) It was delicious and different. I picked up a take-out order and as soon as I opened the box for my enchiladas, I could smell that the sour cream had gone bad. I took a small taste and confirmed that it was completely rancid. When I called to let them know, the girl on the phone said they would remake it for me or give me a refund. I asked for the refund, as I did not want to drive back. Then she said that after speaking with her manager, that I would have to come back and return the food to get my refund. Seriously??!!!! A quick inspection of their ingredients could confirm that I was telling the truth. I told them to keep my money and hopefully they didn't make anyone sick with their expired ingredients! After enjoying a terrific dinner with excellent service, I need to up my review to 5 stars. Grilled shrimp app came with 8 large shrimp grilled perfectly with some chips & chopped salsa. Yum! The mini empanada app was crispy & filled with tender meat. Ask your server for the other dipping sauces you can try! Entree's - green enchilada's with chicken was a generous portion & my husband devoured them - the best he has had in a while! I tried the Mexican taco's with beef. The beef was a little chewy. You have to finish your dinner with one of the delectable desserts that are made fresh every day - baker arrives at 3 am to start baking! Note - there are 2 large booths & the rest are high tops. Second Visit in A Week! I took my 10 and 13 YOs here on Monday for "merienda", I had the BLT on a roll, son had bacon sandwich on toast, daughter had the guacamole and chips (which we could hardly finish) and we all split a largish order of excellent french fries, similar to boardwalk fries, everything was great. For Mom, we got takeout of 2 cookies, flan and the garden salad, again, all was great, but be aware that the salad dressing, which can be ordered on the side, is a little sour, maybe when it combines with some of the pickled veggies in the salad. Mom loved it. Today, Sunday, my son and I went for breakfast, with carryout for Sis and Mom. He had double bacon on toast, I had the sampler, got 2 westerns for takeout and some plantains on the side, again, everything was great. Hard to believe that they've been open for a year and we just got there. Thanks to my co-worker Andrew for mentioning the place. We have been to this restaurant for breakfast many times and have never been disappointed. Today we went for a late lunch and sat outside. I had taco salad my partner had a beef burrito. He loved the burrito, the pico de galo tasted freshly made. The taco salad is the best taco salad I have ever had; it was very fresh and the beef filling was great. I had a black and white cake that was tasteless and a Carmel Napoleon that you needed a steak knife to cut. The three pieces cost $10.
