Happy Taco Tuesday in Sparta, New Jersey! I told my friend that we should have tacos for dinner. She knew that Sparta Classic Diner had tacos on their menu, so she drove us there! The interior was really cute with an old school, country feel... and an indoor (artificial) fireplace! Service was efficient and friendly. Our server had down-to-earth hospitality! She knew to offer us takeout containers at the end of the meal because we were so full! I got the Fish Tacos, grilled. They came with a side of rice and beans - and sweetly tart, fried plantains. The moist fish was topped with fresh veggies and cheese! Very yummy! I finished all ofthe leftovers when we got back to the house! Great midnight snack! Hope you had a Happy Taco Tuesday!

Great layout and seating options. Diner style of course. Service is always very nice. We have been here many times. Today is st pats weekend so for breakfast I decided I am going to try the Irish skillet.... And it was pretty good. Good change of pace. As far as diners go this is about as good as it gets. Enjoy I know we will again.

Came here over the weekend to enjoy a lovely meal with my wife. The food was excellent albeit I wish I got one of the desserts! Food: we ended up getting the breakfast burrito (my wife) and I got a firehouse burger. The burger was made well and a unique aspect was that they provided you chili fries with them! Service: the young girl was nice that helped us, albeit a bit slow (only saw her three times the entire time), but she was super patient with us when she was with us and double checked everything. Aesthetic: real clean diner with two sides for seated eating plus a bar-styled seating when you walk in

    Grilled Steak Tacos

The grilled steak tacos were the worst I've ever had. The meat tasted spoiled, and I almost vomited after one bite. The kind server took it back, but I won't return. The service was amazing, and the staff were lovely.

Typical Jersey diner. Their food was good! Got the thanksgiving sandwich special. It's been one of the better ones I've had this season as I like to try them wherever I go since I love thanksgiving food. However, the service was kinda slow in the beginning that we had to go ask for a waitress. When our waitress finally did come over she wasn't the friendliest and it felt like we were bothering her. Towards the end of our meal she seemed to become more friendly.

Here's the deal... After a fire closed this place down for a year It's good to have this upscale diner back and better than before.

Met some old friends here for lunch. The diner looks very new on the inside and is very clean. Service was friendly but it was a struggle to get the orders in as there was a bit of a language barrier. I ordered a classic reuben and it was quite good. Others ordered tacos and other sandwiches. Overall the consensus was that it was above average. Definitely worth a visit but don't expect to be blown away.

Terrible service. Horrendous manager. My party of 5 got coffee from cloveberry and came here for food. We were sat at a table and ten minutes later the server came in asking for our order and ended with "also the manager is not happy because you came in with outside drinks" we were not told anything until after our orders were taken. The server continued " do you guys want to order anything to drink because you will be charged for coffee if you don't". So the manager was going to charge us for the drinks we paid for at a different store... stingy and unethical

Would go again - This diner is a gem in a quiet neighborhood in comparison to suburbs closer to NYC. Sparta is a very relaxing town and Lake Mohawk near this diner is such a good R&R place to visit. In addition, you have this diner that has many menu items fit for foodies. My friend and I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese, southwest chicken sandwich, and BBQ burger. Gosh...all 3 of these foods were delicious! They have so many other unique foods and their milkshake looks insane...given the amount of food we ordered, we had to skip it. The buffalo Mac and cheese was some of the best I ever had. Creamy but cheesy and it did not get dried up as most mac and cheeses do. Interior is very clean for a diner. It has a old school but modern vibe to it. Parking lot has ample spots. Visit Lake Mohawk after a good meal at this diner.

I was in town for the 2pm Lion King Jr. performance at the church just down the street, featuring my #1 Honorary Young Pup as a certain uptight red-billed hornbill (if you know you know). Sustenance was in order, and I wasn't looking for anything too heavy so this brunchy coffee spot seemed ideal - and it pretty much was. There was ample parking in the lot behind the building, but the place was pretty packed when I walked in. Even though I had to weave through a crowd to get to the counter, there wasn't an actual line and I was able to immediately order. Cute spot; looks like it's been fairly recently redone (last few years?) and I enjoyed the bathroom, which features very classy artwork of aristocratic felines on the walls. The soap dispenser is in a weird/awkward spot far to the left of the sink where it's almost impossible not to drip directly onto the floor, but at least they have one. I decided on the Protein Berry Crunch Toast and a slice of their Lemon Blueberry Loaf. Both were very tasty/hit the spot. I got the slice immediately upon ordering and considered getting a second one while I waited for the Toast. Cooler heads prevailed. It felt at least a little less naughty than that lemon loaf that Starbucks has, primarily because of the lack of icing (it has powdered sugar on top instead) and was moist; not too crumbly. The Toast came out probably in 10 minutes or so, which I think is perfectly acceptable given that it was clearly busy in there with both in-person and online orders. For the most part, I thought the combo of ingredients worked really well together; I was a little apprehensive about the cheese coming in, but it's pretty subtle and only dominant in a few random bites. I think the weakest part of the toast is the blueberries, but that's honestly more of a personal palate call than anything else - it just didn't totally mesh with the cheese for me and didn't have the vibrant taste of the other included fruits. But same token, part of the optics of this dish hinges on that blue. Everything is a balancing act. I'd totally get that again in a pinch, especially if I wasn't looking for a giant meal. The service/hospitality was very good, almost too good. After I finished my loaf, I left its wrapper and my number card (for them to locate me for the rest of my order) on the table while I used the restroom, and they were both picked up by an employee doing a sweep. That's arguably on me, who temporarily abandoned a table that looked like it had nothing but garbage on it. Even though it required 10 seconds worth of troubleshooting to get my number back, I don't know how you don't consider that a positive on the part of the staff. The same guy took my "real" garbage on my way out before I had a chance to bring it back inside. Very friendly, pleasant staff. Nice spot if you happen to be around. Will try to sample the coffee options on my next foray.

Think cozy, charming, and just the right amount of rustic. It's the kind of place where everything from the decor to the lighting makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. The highlight was definitely the Stuffed French Toast. It looked beautiful, and I expected it to be overly sweet, but it was surprisingly well balanced. The toast was soft with a slightly crispy exterior, and the cream cheese filling paired really well with the strawberry compote. We also ordered the BLT+. The smoked bacon was delicious, but the focaccia was a little too thin and hard, making it harder to eat than I expected. The house-made sausage was good, just not particularly memorable. As for the coffee, it was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. The latte wasn't very smooth, and the cold brew had a slight off taste. They were both drinkable, just not something I'd order again. Overall, I'd recommend this place for the food and the atmosphere, especially if you're interested in the French toast.
