Not sure if they are under new ownership.... We went there about a year ago and had a completely better experience..... We were there this morning.... The food was gross.... I ordered eggs with corned beef hash well done.... When the hash finally came out it looked like the put it uncooked on the plate and brought it 10 minutes after the brought the rest of my food ... I sent it back told them to forget it. The waiter then told me it was because they ordered a new brand..... apparently this new brand can't be cooked properly and won't come out the same time as your food... Drinking my coffee, I get to the bottom of the cup and there is a hair that looked like a pube at the bottom of my cup.... I now show it to my waiter who tells me just leave and crumples up my check.... Customer service sucked and food was subpar... I am so grossed out and we won't be back.... This place has gone downhill fast..... Had the proper customer service been given in the restaurant I wouldn't have bothered writing this review but the way I was told to leave because they are dirty, I decided to write this review. read more

Cozy breakfast diner with very friendly/ welcoming staff. Menu includes a lot of options with some basic affordable ones. I personally didn't like the corned beef hash and the potatoes were a bit cold but the eggs were cooked to order and the coffee was on point. read more

Great little diner! Stopped on our way back home, portions were huge!!! We had pancakes- 3 huge enough to share!! The corn beef hash came out extra crispy. The breakfast sandwich was huge- I was half way through before I membered to get a pic. But the highlight was the waitress!! She was hustling and busting her but and didn't miss a beat. Service is good. Layout is nice. Parking not so great. Then there is the most important thing food.... Went here for breakfast which generally I consider to be the easiest to prepare. However unfortunately I found the corn beef has to be flavorless and the hash browns. Not sure what they tasted like. I had to load up on salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup unfortunately. The place has a good reputation so maybe I just hit a bad day. I would give it a shot again but this time not so good. read more

Was in the area and needed to grab some Breakfast and that's when I remembered Rose's Place so I headed over. Many years back and long before I ever started Yelping I had stopped in here and from what I could remember it was a really good diner. Although since then there's Obviously been some changes in ownership here and they definitely aren't as nice and friendly as the previous owners were. Time has a way of changing some stuff so that's not really a big deal.   Anyhow the point is I've been here a few times since and have ordered some Baked Goods and Breakfast Sandwiches to go and in every case they were always very tasty and filling. Whenever I specified that I'd like my Bacon to be cooked Extra Crispy or to put Extra Taylor Ham on there they've always came through for me. Standard small town diner. Very teal and pink decor. Lemon ricotta pancake special was good. No special syrups just standard generic syrup. Iced coffee served in Coke glasses. Waffle wasn't crispy, very soft. Eggs and hash browns were okay. Party of 8 and our food kept coming at different times. read more

I ordered the Cheeseburger omelet which is supposed to be ground beef and American cheese ONLY but it came with big, soggy pieces of onion and green pepper that seemed as if they were just tossed into the omelet from a bowl of room temperature, overcooked veggies. They definitely hadn't been recently sautéed then added to the omelet. I guess I got the Western somehow but that doesn't change the fact that it was very bad. The egg in the omelet was WAY over cooked and completely dried out and the entire omelet looked as if it had been flattened with a rolling pin. I imagine a giant spatula was used to mash it down. I'm a little disappointed. I just moved here and the place is a right around the corner and I really wanted to have a go to spot. read more

This is hands down the best place to get breakfast/lunch. I no longer live in New Jersey but always make sure to make a stop at Rose's while i'm in town. I came to Rose's with some friends for breakfast and was sat immediately. I like how you can pick your own table instead of waiting to be seated. Service was fast and our waitress was so kind and funny. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a local or just driving through town! read more

Rose's has been in Netcong since 1990. I stopped in for a nice breakfast this morning. This is your real hometown dining spot. It doesn't try to be pretentious, it just serves good food. I chose blueberry pancakes and they were excellent. Service was friendly and prices very reasonable. Parking is on street, but not a problem at all. The place is not big, so there may be a wait for tables, but plenty of room at counter! read more

Absoloutely delicious food! Their special chicken quesadilla is perfection with what a quesadilla should have and taste like! The potato skins are the best I have ever tasted in any restaurant. Seriously so delicious and at a great price. Lets not forget the owners and workers are AMAZING PEOPLE. These people fed Netcong Firefighters when they were taking down a massive fire for hours and never expected compensation. Meanwhile Carmines Trashy Pizza fed the fire fighters but complained when they werent compensated. I know this directly from the fire depot. As someone else noted, this is NOT the same Rose's Place with American Italian cuisine originally owned by the Polo family since 1990, whom immigrated to America from Italy. Now it is something completely different with Armenian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Too bad. Another era of an American favorite is now in the past. I ordered eggs with cheese and the cheese was just sitting on top which I thought was odd, but it was served hot and melted when mixed together. Service was quick and friendly. Okay I don't understand the amazing reviews here. The only great thing I can say was that my food was cheap which luckily it was because they only take cash and I had to pay for my table since no one knew. Yes they do have an ATM if you need it. Service was super slow. We were lucky when we walked in that we got a table right away but I could see how weird it would be to be stalking out tables since they have no hostess managing the process. No list or anything like that. Once we sat it took an hour for us to get our food. We were starving. Almost all of us had eggs over easy with toast and a meat choice. Eggs were fine I mean not that hard to get right after taking an hour on them. The bacon was cooked well as I asked. Homefries has little flavor just cooked potatoes. The French toast was pretty bad. It had burnt griddle egg on it and just tasted like weird hot semi sweet toast. I would not return here. read more

New owners, not the same. Service was extremely slow. Only 2 servers when they probably needed 4. Food took over half an hour to come out. I think they were literally cooking one ticket at a time. We were there on a Sunday while visiting friends in the area. I wanted a diner-type breakfast and found this place on Google. The place looked packed and my husband immediately said let's not go, but I resisted. What a mistake. There were people waiting when we walked in, but nobody greeted us. I spied 2 counter seats, thinking that our breakfast would come faster. Mistake #2. We ordered scrambled eggs, home fries, toast and my husband had sausage. It took nearly 40 minutes for our food to come out. At one point I noticed somebody calling this woman Rose and she came out and berated the staff for not putting in the orders correctly. But the problem really seemed to be the cooks. There were 3 and although orders were coming out, they were way behind. When we finally got our food, my potatoes were swimming in grease. The scrambled eggs tasted like nothing and the sausage on the side was also very greasy. This place would be a great candidate for Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon! The only good thing I can say is that the waitresses were working damn hard and they were great, despite the long wait. We should have at least gotten our coffee for free. read more

Rose's is a small corner restaurant/diner in Netcong. If you drive over 35 MPH you may miss it and its 6 parking spots but what it lacks in parking it makes up in menu selection. Always equipped with daily specials on soup, sandwiches and entrees, you are always up for a meal that will fill you up. The food is good and the quality of service is what you would expect from a diner. For a nice relaxing lunch, this is a good stopping point. read more

I was very disappointed as this place was recommended to me. I had a omelet with home fries and rye toast. The omelet was decent but the home fries you could tell were old and reheated to the point of being inedible. Also, everything from the table, ketchup bottle, syrup bottle and salt and pepper shakers were sticky and dirty. A semi- decent 24 hr style diner at best. I will not be returning. read more

I recently went into Rose's Place to get some breakfast on a Friday afternoon. Mildly busy, I looked around for a clean empty table. Three of four tables were empty, but still not cleared. I sat at the counter because it seemed to be the only cleared spot. The waitress taking care of me did everything but care. It almost felt as if she neglected my existence. I understand being a quiet person, but i saw the attention she was giving the other customers; which was the exact opposite customer service I was receiving. The only good thing about my stay was the food even though it took 25 minutes to come out. About half way through my meal, the waitress who hardly checked on me, dropped off the check with out saying a word. After putting my cash on the counter & waiting about 10 minutes for her to retrieve it, I look over to see her texting on her phone, while eating an apple. My experience here may have been better if I had gotten the other up beat, bubbly waitress who had to get a box for me because my waitress was too busy on her phone. read more
