Visiting area for the weekend and stopped in as we had a hankering for burgers and wanted to dine with one of the local establishments vs a chain. As we drove up, It looked abandoned but had an open sign and then I noticed someone waiting (for a to go order) inside so we took a chance and went in to give it a try. I was starving and hadn't had anything to eat all day and it was 2pm. We ordered a few things including the BBQ Bulls eye burger, the Cordon Blue Burger (subbed beef patty) and the Fat Elvis which supposedly had gyro meat, cheesesteak, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks all on French bread/sub loaf. Also ordered seasoned fries with fry sauce. The Fat Elvis was actually interesting and decent, BUT again, I was starving. If I weren't starving, I think the sandwich would have been just ok. Not bad, but just ok. Also, I believe they actually made me the Fat Daddy vs the Elvis because I didn't see a trace of any gyro meat. The Bullseye burger was good according to my lunch buddy and he said he'd come back and dine again. He's a fan of anything with BBQ sauce so I'm not surprised. The Cordon Blue burger was just ok. Nothing special about the burger at all. The fries were just ok, nothing special at all and the Fry sauce didn't help make them taste any better. Burger was auto cooked to Medium plus but I was never asked what temperature I preferred. Maybe I looked like a "medium plus guy" - well they got lucky today! Now a couple of extra things: the pop machine was broken/down, no water options and one of their bathrooms was out of order. The internal/external ambiance is not welcoming or inviting at all. The server who took my order, didn't appear familiar with the menu and was clueless about several of the sandwiches on the menu which was odd and not helpful. I think this place would be benefit from a little sprucing up on the outside and inside, including ensure water is available for purchase and getting their machines and bathrooms working properly. All that said, I'm not sure my experience today would compel me return. read more

The most pathetic 30 burgers I've ever been to. The inside is dilapidated and looks like they never finished it. There no soda machine and you can't even get a bottle of water. The food was sub-par and when I ordered a fat sandwich it came with 3 fries, half of a chicken tender and 2 mozzarella sticks. So ridiculous I got my money back. I was in the mood for a burger and since there weren't any shake shacks nearby, I stopped here to try them out. I ordered a simple bacon cheese burger with onion rings and a shake, I was blown away!!! The Carmel milkshake was SOOOO GOOD for starters. Plus, the straw was super thick, so it was easier to drink. Then I tried the onion rings and they were crispy and cooked to perfection!!! Then one bite of the hamburger and I thought I was in heaven!!! A good size portion of fresh beef on a soft bun... amazing! The person behind the counter was also very friendly and helpful, since this was my first time. I did a search and found one closer to my area, so I'm hoping they're all this good! Not much more than a few tables and chairs and a counter but the food is pretty good for the price and the portion. I tried the Bacon Royal Burger and the original crispy chicken sandwich. Crispy chicken sandwich was not the juiciest but crispy and large , burger was large and flavorful. Bacon was crispy on the burger. Fresh buns. Patty was well over cooked for my liking but Fries were large and crispy and seasoned well. Definitely a good choice for a quick burger or chicken sandwich in the area. So, the burger I had (a Trenton Burger) was actually pretty good. It had a nice size patty and was tasty. We ate in and I'd have to say that the interior is rather non-descript - perhaps even a bit depressing - no decor and rather bright overhead lights. The tables and chairs are all shot and were dirty. I was hit with a 3% inflation surcharge on my bill. That's rude. But then I was given a 3% discount for paying cash. So, maybe it's a wash. They gave me soda and fries for $4 extra but that was not anywhere on the menu board. Unfortunately, the soda machine was out so they had to upgrade me to a bottle which cost $0.50 more. Most burgers are in the $10-12 range. Yes, there are 30. So, five stars for the actual burger. Minus two stars for the dirty and depressing sit-down area, lack of transparent pricing, and a broken soda machine. Good food but everything else was underwhelming. We have ordered from here many times, usually through their own ordering system (Toast) and would have considered Grubhub but what they must not realize is there is an entire menu of grilled chicken "burgers" that you CANNOT order on those platforms. They have a section on their menu called "Chicken Burgers". Out of seven of those selections, 5 are made with GRILLED chicken. The way they setup Grubhub and Doordash (not recommended) is you MUST choose the meat or you cannot complete the order, but what they fail to offer as an option is GRILLED CHICKEN! They have every other kind of meat, BUT the very grilled chicken that is named in the specific chicken "burger" description is missing. Guess what this means? If you want a grilled chicken burger, you can't use those platforms. It's their LOSS, not ours. And contacting support on those platforms is useless - totally don't care and lost in translation from overseas support. Next, many items are supposed to come with accouterments but they forget. Like a sauce or sour cream. This has happened numerous times. The Teriyaki Chicken did not come with Teriyaki sauce or a burger you were supposed to get lettuce and tomato did not have both or the wrong bun. So happy a burger place has opened in hackettstown. It is conveniently located. Menu has tons of options from burgers, hot dogs, paninis and a large variety of milkshakes. Very clean and fast service. When you go in you place order at counter and pay and then they call your name to pick up order. We ordered classic cheeseburgers and seasoned fries and onion rings.
