The "Greek" salad looked much smaller and less appetizing than the other two, as if someone had stinted on the ingredients or run out of something before finishing it. We love Panera and eat at both Albany and Corvallis all the time and at a few other locations occasionally. I'm just disappointed that you've removed the one entree I really loved, the Bacon Avocado melt. It's been replaced with another similar sandwich, but it's not as good. Otherwise the food is good and usually consistent across all restaurants and the service is good, especially at the Corvallis location. read more

Since moving to the Oregon Coast 3 years ago, I was very excited to try my favorite sandwich once again, toasted steak & white cheddar with horseradish dressing. As you walk in and admire the baked goods, keep in mind that the core of Panera's outlook is fresh and healthy foods. We had salads and sandwiches, very good quality and fresh ingredients. I'll admit that the decor is akin to an IHOP. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, which makes it a good value as well. Service was friendly and prompt. UPDATE: Having eaten here a couple of times, I'll say that they suffer from lack of consistency. Portion size and freshness of the salad are variable.The "pickle of shame" that came with my sandwich should have been thrown out a couple of days prior, as should have been the salad. read more

Convenient location on 4th and Harrison in the former Blockbuster Video site. Modern Contempary decor with lots of seating. Service is friendly and professional... As far as the food is concerned, the menu options are huge with an abundance of sandwiches, soups and bakery items. This is a must visit if your on your way to an Oregon State event. I like that Panera delivers these days, as occasionally I like to order a salad for lunch at work. It's a bit pricy of a delivery fee, but nice to have option of delivery available. You can even track the delivery on your phone, again which is helpful. The salads are all good, but my favorite is the Southwest Chile Lime Ranch Salad. Absolutely delicious. Make sure you check your order before you leave & I mean pull everything apart and inspect everything! 3 out of the last 5 times they forgot the avocado on my sandwich (at a whopping buck 30), and once they forgot the whole damn sandwich completely! That they dice instead of slice cucumbers & peppers for sandwiches is super annoying, a slice stays on a sandwich better than a dice, and they won't customize it for your visit. read more

I like Panera. Stopped here on the way for a college tour with the kids. This particular location would not be my favorite. Very tiny and dangerous parking lot shared with other businesses. The inside is narrow and not that large. Food, well, it's Panera and it has the standard fare of sandwiches, pastas and soups. I know the types of things I like from there and that's what I got, kids got the pasta dishes and were satisfied, and of course, they loved the brownie I got for them. I came to Corvallis Oregon to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in quite some time. He decided to take me to lunch we decided on a few places but we decided to go to Panera Bread it has been quite some time since we've been there. There was a young gentleman working the cashier I saw his name tag it said Nathan as I walked up to him to place my order. He had a smile on under his mask he then asked me what would I like to order I then proceeded to ask what would he recommend. He then proceeded to tell about Fontaga Chicken with extra Chicken and Sauce which sounded delicious then a ordered Chicken Tortilla Soup which I was down for since I love a good sounding soup and for desert I got a nice poppin' hot ooey gooey cinnamon roll fresh and soft and for drink I got a papaya green tea sounds so good had to get a refill. Service was really quick specially with it being pretty busy inside. Once I got my order I said my goodbyes to the cashier and went home. Will come again when I came back into town. read more

After walking about for a bit in the cold, drizzly weather, this seemed to be a good bet to drop in for a coffee and pastry. I have been to a few Paneras in SoCal, but I can't remember if I have been to one in Oregon or not. This one appears to be a trendy place for OSU students to study their textbooks and write term papers while listening to bland music on the sound system. I know I was in here for at least a half hour, but cannot name one song that was playing. As I had eaten earlier and was still rather full, I chose a small square of shortbread and a cup of coffee. There were 4 brews on tap that day to choose from: Light, Dark, De-Calf, and Hazelnut. I do not like dark or flavored brews so I opted for the Light. It was still too dark for my taste, so I added some hot water and half 'n half. This made it quite palatable and I went off to find a small half-booth table in the corner. I was not impressed with the shortbread. It was not buttery or sweet enough. It was more like some pie crusts I have had. After about half of the square I gave up and left the rest. I have had their apple cream cheese pastry a few times before, and am very happy with that choice, but I had felt I was too full to enjoy it this time. Next time I will just take one to go. If you like Paneras, then you'll like this one. read more

Got the soup, sandwich, and your choice of side. It was amazing! At first it doesn't look like a lot when you get it, esp if you're hungry like I was. But I was wrong! After eating the soup with the sandwich I was surprisingly full. Didn't try any of the pastries yet, but I will definitely be back to pick up a couple and try it. I think Panera Bread is really great! I've placed 100+ catering orders for my office and they always do an excellent job, I can't think of a single time they've forgotten anything. I also enjoy Panera Bread in my personal life; I absolutely love the rapid pick-up option! The only thing is that parking is so bad, and I get lunch there less than half the time I'd like to because of it. If I get there 11:30 or later there is no parking in their 2 small lots or on the street, and the only other option I've been able to find are other company's lots which have tow away signs, and I really don't want to take their parking or be worried about my car being towed. With rapid pick-up I'm inside the building for about 30 seconds so it would be unlikely that it would get towed, but I think there are better options. Panera Bread - Please devote a couple spots in your lot to your rapid pick-up customers! You would get 3x the business from me alone. read more

A clean, well lighted place to enjoy a pastry and a coffee, which is what I and my friends strolled into on our way out to the coast. The pastry (a bearclaw) was light and flavorful with plenty of almond paste inside and the coffee was fine. Ordering cafeteria-style speeds things up, if you're in a hurry. Wi-fi is available so you can surf the net (while pretending you're working on your college paper) while sipping your coffee. All in all, a very passable eatery. read more

As usual, I've tried just about everything on the menu at least once, though I have to admit I don't do vegetarian dishes. I didn't climb to the top of the food chain just to eat plants... I felt that it was overpriced for just salad, but they are filling and have plenty of protein to make a balanced meal and the sandwiches aren't bad. A solid 3 stars. Not awesome, but not terrible either. Still, they do have some really good flavor. They have free wi-fi and its a good place to hang and chill. Their rewards program isn't bad as you get a free birthday pastry and fairly frequently they load you up with a $2 off a salad or sandwich offer. The desserts are awesome and breads are fantastic. Often there will be bakery samples that you can try if you're curious about how something will taste. My personal favorites are: the Asian sesame chicken salad, the Fontina grilled cheese sandwich, the Fuji chicken salad, the steak and blue cheese chopped salad, and the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad. Horrible service! The catering is hit and miss with reliability. Last time we used them, they forgot some of the food and beverages and were late delivering it. I had to interrupt a meeting in progress (on speakerphone and WebEx) to drop off food, only to find out some of it was missing and not all people in the meeting got fed. The driver went back to get the remaining food and still forgot the beverages that were missing from the first delivery. So not only once, but twice the order got screwed up by this location. Embarrassing and unacceptable! I would concur with the other reviewer: lazy college kids that are grossly overpaid in Corvallis and an owner that is clueless to the nonsense going on in this restaurant. read more
