I love Old World Deli and should make it a point to come here more often, as I've always enjoyed my dining experience. The sandwiches are delicious, the house-made potato chips are nice and crunchy, and there's some great drink options. Plus, there's often live music. It's never been empty when I've stopped in, but I've never had issues with grabbing a table. There are some high seats and tables as well as some lower ones, and self-serve water and drinking glasses in the dining area. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. Service is friendly and it never takes too long for your food to arrive at your table. Old World Deli is in my top 3 sandwich spots in Corvallis. This is a great place to take a friend or a medium-sized (4-6) group of people for a sandwich and perhaps a show. Plus, the ambiance, decor, and painted ceiling are really cool! read more

This is an absolutely charming deli (with plenty of excellent draft beer and cocktail options) in downtown Corvalis. Highly recommended. We tried a pulled pork sandwich that was terrific. It was extremely flavorful and came with a ton of homemade (I think) chips. If you like potato salad, get that instead of the coleslaw, if you can. The potato salad is definitely homemade and it is loaded with dill. It is outstanding. We also tried a turkey and cheese sandwich and the ingredients were very fresh. This was a very nice sandwich. The bourbon barrel brown beer was wonderful, if you like that particular style. They also have many soft drink options. The decor is delightful. There are paintings on the ceiling and other fun interior design features everywhere. It' may not be the Sistine Chapel but, come on, you have to just marvel at and appreciate all the effort someone expended making this place look so darn cool. We happened across this place looking for a late night snack and found out they have live music too. We stopped in and the building is old and great, lots of history and nice little details. The music was excellent, the food was even better and will be stopping by anytime we are in the area again. Found this place yesterday. Just ate there again. Saw mixed reviews, but honestly both the turkey sandwich I had yesterday and the pastrami I had today were amazing. Loved the potato salad. My husband is the pickiest eater out there and will only order the same thing every time we go anywhere. He ordered different items and thoroughly enjoyed both. Such a cool place to eat, the inside reminded me of sitting outside, kind of hard to describe. They don't have a huge menu, but they don't really need to because the sandwiches are a great variety. All the sandwiches come with house made chips, which are crispy and delicious. They also come with a pickle spear on the side, I'm not a huge fan of pickles, but the pickles were delicious. I ordered the hot pastrami, it was really good, good size portion of pastrami. It came with stone ground mustard on it, but I got mine on the side. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which comes with Cole slaw on it, made on a ciabatta roll. My daughter ordered the PB & J sandwich, it actually comes with bananas on it but she didn't want them. We ordered a side of the potato salad, also house made, it was so good !!! This is our go-to deli in Corvallis. Sandwiches are always very, very good. The service is a bit slow so you have to deal with that. In the evening. They'll have entertainment. Perhaps a band or a solo artist. You will not go away hungry from a place like this. I also like it that they have the Mexican cokes to drink. If you live in the area and you haven't been to this place, go. I really love the idea behind this restaurant. There is a huge stage up front where they host performances, and the walls (and ceiling) are covered in really awesome art. The atmosphere is extremely comforting and the staff behind the counter really helps their customers feel that way. If you want something thats filling and not overwhelming, the Mighty Veggie is a great option. The sautéed mushrooms with avocado is such a delicious combination. BEST LOX BAGEL I EVER HAD. The salmon is so fresh and it was a transcendent mouth experience of divine flavor of dill. Saturday evening in Corvallis and the Old World Deli has live music. Skip the Millers was playing loud and proud. Which means seating was troublesome... I don't know what it's like when there isn't a band but I hope there are more seats available during regular dining. I ordered the Mighty Meaty sandwich and a 20oz Pfriem IPA, the total bill was $14 plus tip. The sand which was fresh and tasty but uninspiring. Don't get me wrong... it was a good sandwich built with quality ingredients, but it wasn't "special". Nothing signature about it. Maybe I'm being picky, but this place could kick that sucker up a notch easily. The homemade potato chips were delicious, not too salty and only one was less crispy than I would have liked. There was a pickle slice that I particularly enjoyed but it was tiny and in some ways felt like an afterthought. I would have ordered extra pickles had I know how good it was going to be. The beer was pfriem... marvelous. They take Apple Pay and the service was good considering the crowd. The music surpassed 95 decibels most of the evening so my ears are ringing, but the band was good so I'm not complaining. Overall good meal, and fun place. I'd try it when there isn't live music to see what the atmosphere is like, but it has great potential. I'd go 4.5 stars but the sandwich was just good, not awesome. Stopped here because it was close to my hotel and more importantly, they have French Dip sandwiches. I'm always in search of a good one and boy I found it! I normally don't like cheese on mine (I don't like cheese) but I took a shot since Swiss isn't too bad and they added just enough and mixed it with the meat (instead of a slab on top). Amazing! House made chips (I assume) were excellent as well. Even the ice tea was good ole plain brewed iced tea. Walk up to order and they bring it to ya.
