I went into the place and when I did the workers seem really nice, the lady running register complemented me. when she gave my order to the people who made they food they were making fun of me and a young man said " when a person orders the steak and white i ask them if they like torturing themselves." I was so embarrassed and ticked off that I started to tear up. When my boyfriend and I were finished eating and getting ready to leave the same young man that said those rude things pulled a vape out of his pocket and handed it to a girl cleaning the drink station. Panera markets itself as the family-friendly bakery store. Their breakfast offerings are exhaustive (and exhausting) Plenty of sweets, some breakfast sandwiches, great coffee. I like Panera ok. People seem to rave but I hesitate. First and foremost, there are better places in town to go. And by that I mean New Morning Bakery. But Panera does have a good bagel selection that I can appreciate. The service is really friendly and the place is very clean and well-managed. Something that's probably a good thing but I don't like is they have the calorie count posted next to every item. I find this... unnerving... Anyway, it's ok. But I think once the hype dies down it will just be another chain corporate restaurant moms and dads will take their college kids to while they're visiting. read more

Except for this Panera, I have never been to Panera before. After being open for about a month or so now, I would expect the staff to be fully knowledgeable about the menu, especially seeing how busy it was both times I went (normal lunch hour and also 2pm). Each time the cashier had to reference a menu guide. My first visit I had the Smokehouse Turkey panini. First of all, if you call something a three-cheese bread, I hope to visibly see the cheese on the bread, not just have barely any along the crust. Upon internet research, the bread used was apparently correct. Additionally, there was so much of the sun-dried tomato mustard that it overpowered every single bite. The spread is not bad if used in moderation as the flavor was good but it was just too much. Also, the outsides were nice and warm, but the inside the turkey was cold still. And the turkey... I thought Panera might have had nice sliced homestyle turkey you might find carved right off the bird, but it appears to be processed. Rather a disappointment. The second visit was a little better; I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I did like my Sierra Turkey sandwich. The sauce was just enough and not overpowering like chipotle sauces can be. For the price though, I thought it was a bit exorbitant for just being turkey, bread, lettuce, onions sauce. I added bacon to it, which I think really made the sandwich, but it cost $1.00 extra making the sandwich almost $8.00. I also tried two of their baked goods; the orange scone and the brownie. The scone tasted rather floury and could have used a bigger punch in flavor. The brownie was ok. The outside was a bit dry but the flavor was good and inside verging on fudgy. In short, for the amount of money you spend, I'd rather eat at McMenamins or go to Subway. read more

I'm so thrilled to have another fast casual restaurant option here in Corvallis. The menu is huge, and I have yet to either repeat an item or dislike an item. The soups warm my fingers after cold, rainy bike rides, and the coffee is always hot and strong. The service is crazy fast, and the staff is super friendly. Favorites: Broccoli cheddar soup, fiji apple chicken salad and toffee nut cookie Plus: wifi, fireplace, clean bathrooms, great location, kid-friendly options, healthy AND splurge items, great food, great service, affordable Minus: only minor complaint--not a huge fan of the dining room music, but I understand it's vanilla enough to not offend the diverse customer base. read more

There is something about service in Oregon, they aren't anywhere as fast as Californians but they really so it with a smile, the cashier was overly nice and accommodating as well as the employees at the food pickup station, really makes me wonder why they are sooooo happy and Californians are so bitter and short. Imagine Starbucks and Subway had an unholy lovechild of awesome fast-ish cafe-ish food? That's what Panera is. So if that's what you want from your quick lunch, GO HERE. If you were looking for a more relaxed, less corporate atmosphere downtown you really need to own to that and check out the places on 3rd and 2nd street. This place is fast, the pastries and lunch items are lovely, and the coffee is good too. But it isn't like, gush-worthy. Consistent quality is so appreciated, especially while traveling. If you're traveling or in Corvallis short-term, rely on trusty Panera Bread for a space to meet and get work done. Panera is a pretty safe bet if you're looking for a respectable meal at a fair price. They're always pretty quick with the food prep, and I am always satisfied after eating. I will say that this location doesn't have a ton of seating options for groups of more than four people. My group ate lunch there recently and tried to sit with 7 people and had to push a couple of small round top tables together, which worked but wasn't ideal. All in all, I would certainly expect that we will return in the near future. read more

Poor service experience. Went in on Friday morning Dec. 5, '14 and ordered a breakfast sandwich - turkey sausage with white cheddar and spinach (off the menu.) Having ordered this sandwich before (out of state at a different Panera) I specifically asked that they NOT put the tomato on the sandwich. It's not listed on the ingredients on the menu. Completed my exchange at the register and went to wait for my to-go order. Soon after waiting I heard the staff member in the kitchen remark loudly to her co-worker, "Ewwwwww....I don't like to touch the turkey sausage.' After a brief long-distance conversation from her co-worker she was instructed to get another staff member to come out and make the order. This alone made me reluctant to eat the sandwich. Upon exiting the establishment and opening the wrapper I also realized it had the tomato that was not listed on the menu that I had specifically asked NOT to be on the sandwhich. I scrapped the order and found the nearest waste basket. I'm out the price of the sandwich, had a hungry morning that didn't help my view of the Corvallis Panera that I won't be returning to. This place needs some review and training of their staff. I wouldn't have any staff member in prepartion of menu items that had such a disgust for any ot the ingredients. I also wouldn't employ a staff member that was so poorly trained on customer service that didn't realize their customers are listening to what they are loudly communicating to their co-workers on the other side of the establishment. Very poor service experience and I'll be going elsewhere for my breakfast. Tried to write a notification of poor service to the Panera.com site but after writing this same review was not able to post it due to "site-errors." Again...not good. Warning, don't go. Not worth the money, the prices are high for what you get for food. Had luke warm soup, I had to go to the microwave to warm up my soup. Which you have to bend way down to put the soup in a dirty splashed microwave. Seems that a customer should not do this. If I wanted to warm up my soup, I would just eat at home. The sandwich I had was Napa chicken apple salad. Could not taste the chicken salad at all, lettuce and tomato. Plus, they ask, apple, chips or baguette. I asked for apple, thought it would be a sliced apple, I got a whole apple, sort of awkward. We have eaten at Panera in San Diego area and it was much better then this. I use to not be the biggest fan of Panera. I think it was the idea that it seemed like it was another one of those chain places that just seemed to serve dishes with nothing special. I remember going there once and it was ok. BUT as of a month ago I began to really like this place. They've amped up their dish selection and advertised them which made me think to give them another try. I've become really into their Power Kale Salad (I've really begun to love kale lately which is really what drew me) and I really like their "Choose 2" deal. I am also able to customize my meals to my particular taste buds which is very nice as I can be a fairly picky eater sometimes. Each time I've ordered to-go and the online ordering process is very user-friendly. My food is almost always ready by the time I get there even when I did show up a little early. I'm gluten free and you can tell that Panera just hates us. First of all there menu doesn't specify what is or isn't gluten free. I asked the server who said only 2 of their soups were gluten free, the tomato and the winter squash soup. Apparently their vegetable soup and their chili contain gluten ? I ordered my soup with bread, and was promptly given some Star-Trek tracking device that vibrated when my order was done. My order came quickly and the soup was hot.
