Sawadee krap Yelpies, If you live in or around Albany Oregon and have yet to encounter the true meaning of fresh authentic Thai food then you are in for an amazing experience. The menu offers an excellent blend of vegetarian dishes as well as the carnivorous ones that I enjoy. Spice levels are decent and if you love the heat don't be afraid to ask for Thai Hot. Your food will come out quick and hot which is amazing as they were busy with two big groups and the service level and quality did not waver. taan hâi à-ròi ná ká (enjoy your meal) Cheers

The lunch menu is a great deal where you can order a full plate of a protein of your choice, including tofu, prepared in a variety of ways. I've been twice and ordered the pad Thai and found it delicious both times. I opted for the tofu and veggies. The vegetables were lightly cooked so that they were neither over or under done. The tofu was lightly crisped and absorbed the seasoning well. Lunch was only $12.95 for a generous portion. I was able to eat the leftovers for dinner. Service is prompt and friendly. Ambiance is clean with lots of light. Jinda Thai is one of the best restaurants in the Albany area.

It's really sad to me how the quality has declined here. I had a draft waiting here, just to try it out again and make sure it wasn't an off day. What once seemed really fresh now is often greasy. Portion size has decreased, which I understand with the increased costs. But putting in filler ingredients that you don't list on your menu description? That's just false advertising.

Lettuce Wraps

My mouth was doing the happy dance ! The Lettuce Wraps on the appetizers. Choice chick./tofu. had a sweet chili dressing. A chunk of lettuce on side.

Super cute Thai place in old downtown Albany. If it's winter time don't sit in the far blue side wall seating. All the cold air and wind from the door hits you. Friendly waitress, our food came quickly. The Panang curry was missing galangal and needed more coconut flavor. The peanut sauce was average. Thai basil was the best dish we had, but a bit too salty for me. I'd come back if I lived here and try more menu items. They have some tasty looking seafood specials.

Nice atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Food was brought out in a very timely manner & was not only delicious but very nicely presented. The prices & portions were a pleasant surprise, since many places are reducing portions & raising prices. If I lived in Albany, I would frequent this place. I strongly recommend this place.

I had their green curry lunch special today and it was so delicious!! Only $15 and it was PLENTY of food. I loved every bite of it and can't wait to come back.

Wow! We went there by ordering a ton of dishes to figure out if this was a return spot, and yes it is! The duck pad thai was perfect! I would recommend eating it there and not doing it as a take out. The noodles seem to dry up on the drive home. The flavors were perfect and the duck was moist! The crispy pork belly looked dry and plain. As looks were deceiving, the pork was perfectly seasoned and moist with every bite! The curry was not overly spicy, it was sweet and seasoned just right! It comes topped with duck which was a perfect addition! Warning ‼ The mango sticky rice has a quantity per day. When they run out, they are out! It as to die for! The rice was rich with flavor and the mango is never sour. We normally grab three every time we are there. The service was on time, suggestive service was perfect, and if you can, see if Mike is available to serve you. He was quick and on it with his suggestions of the food. The restaurant itself has a nice rustic look with a mini bar towards the back. Best Thai for in Corvallis Albany area!

I get take out here a couple times a month, the food is always in generous portions, it usually is ready by noon if you order before 11:30.

Food was good. Place was busy and small so most of their orders are to go as far as I could see.

They offer a variety…read moreof Thai foods and I chose to delve into one of their curry options, of which there are about half a dozen. Standard with all the curry dishes is your choice of either chicken or tofu, with a $3 surcharge for items like beef or shrimp. Each of the curry options tended to have about three vegetables as ingredients in the dish. They have a red, yellow and green curry. They then have preselected the veggies that they include with each of the dishes. With the curry dish comes a healthy mound of white rice, which was cooked fine. I ordered the red curry with peppers, onions, basil and beef. I felt the quantity of the ingredients a tad on the skimpy side and definitely felt the dish should have had more beef - often feeling like I had to fish around in the large styrofome container for chunks of beef. (Do note there was plenty of broth which was taken home and added to some cooked rice the next night - and that was tasty). I found the curry broth itself to be very tasty and true to what one would expect of a red curry sauce. Theoretically, Big Sisters offers five different levels of spice - from standard to extra hot. Given that it was my first bite at the apple, I took what I believed was the cautious route and ordered the mild spice (step above the base, which is "standard"), in anticipation that this would provide some heat, but not somewhat food dominating heat: I got somewhat food dominating heat. A tad disappointing, but definitely not to much heat to overwhelm the other flavors. The lady taking the orders was nice and attentive, even though it was peak dinner time (I am sure they had plenty of orders to handle). They give you a buzzer which alerts you when your meal is ready for pickup. I felt that the turn around time from order to ready for pickup reflected an efficient operation. This food truck is in The Barn's courtyard. There are many picnic tables throughout The Barn (seating is not an issue) and you can grab a seat wherever you choose. There are tables on the lawn, under an awning which covers the divide between the food trucks which line either side or one can grab their food and eat inside of The Barn - again, at picnic tables. The Barn itself has an extensive beer selection, about 20 of numerous varieties from lagers and pilsners to ales and stouts, as well as numerous ciders. They are also happy to provide samples which is helpful in making a choice. On friday nights, they have music - I believe from 6-8 - outside by the picnic tables. The volume is respectful in that it is easy to hear but does not overwhelm. There are also plenty of kids and families, whom are welcome, and the kids seem to enjoy themselves because they can be active and there is a crepe truck which has plenty of offerings for dessert. Overall, I think Big Sisters is a good food option at The Barn with authentic tasting Thai food, caveated as above. The Barn, Big Sisters host, is a very relaxed, no rush, casual dining spot which offers many food options and is a fun spot for kids to eat out.

Absolutely nasty too-sweet pad Thai. Like some sort of sweet and sour syrup lying of sauce…read more Complete waste of $17 plus tip.

Fortunately, our paths finally passed on Friday evening and it was a very enjoyable get together. The restaurant has a nice asian ambiance with it not screaming out as being cheap decor. They have some cool murals on the back walls, a nice long, wooden bar which runs parallel to the kitchen with many seats and about a half dozen tables that seat four. They also have a few tables et outside, on a bit of a busy street, weather permitting. The restroom was impeccable. As for service: this is an order at the counter and they deliver the food to your table. I only had very favorable interactions with a very cordial staff who appeared to always be working at doing something: no slacking off in this restaurant. Also, the food was delivered to the table, although made fresh to order, promptly and with courtesy. As for quality of the food - it was excellent, especially the pho. The pho was the best pho I have ever tasted, and will be what I get probably every time I eat here moving forward. When one can indulge in a gastronomical experience of that caliber, why ever deviate? However, this was my lady's meal, so I sampled but did not devour. I had ordered #4: their pork Vietnamese noodle salad. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, which was plentiful, tasty (it also included shrimp) and barbequed. We did not order a drink, but they sure had some that appeared to be worth a try and will be on the tasting menu on our next visit. Overall, a very enjoyable gastronomic experience with very pleasant, and appreciative, customer service to boot: kudos to a job well done!

I had the bún (rice noodles) with grilled chicken and charred prawns. The first bite was good: prawns were excellent, lightly cooked, moist with a smoky sweet char. The second bite included nicely herbed noodles with fresh, good quality lettuce, mint and cilantro. The third bite, and majority of the dish unfortunately, contained overcooked, chewy chicken. The fish sauce mixture lacked birds eye chili, acid and seasoning. Dry chicken dominated, but ironically components that require more delicate treatment were prepared well. The fried spring rolls (cha gio) were greasy, missing that blistered, bubbly skin.. My companion ordered a strawberry matcha and the vegetarian bún: nice and herby and green, but lacking that good flavor (chili, acid) in the Nước Chấm fish sauce. It shouldn't be solely up to sriracha to get a dish to the right flavors. In all, a nice spot aesthetically and friendly staff but while dishes had super fresh veg and some solid proteins, other proteins were overcooked and our dishes were missed some of the flavors we love to see in Vietnamese food.
