My wife and I stopped here on our way to the coast and what a delightful surprise. This is authentic Chinese cuisine, and the service was excellent. Everything we tried here was hand made. The spring rolls were fresh made and fried to order. They were crisp well flavored and very enjoyable. Definitely not the typical frozen out of the box Costco spring rolls that are all too commonly served at most Chinese restaurants. The Sesame ball are to die for. Amazingly crisp outer shell and multiple layers of delicious flavors on the inside. The main dish that I tried was the Mongolian Beef. The flavor profile was spot on. Perfectly balanced, the beef was of good quality and not over cooked rather more it was tender, juicy. The sauce was very good. It too was very well balanced with the perfect level of spicy heat that this dish should have. The onions were prepared to perfection, not over done and not over done. Absolutely great. So I've been hearing about this place for awhile and now I am sorry I waited so long. First thing to note... the people were all very friendly! I ordered the following online: Home Made Three Stuffed Dumplings, Beef With Broccoli, Kung Pao Shrimp and Singapore Rice Noodle with Shrimp. The order was ready on time! Everything was tasty and fresh but the dumplings were by far my favorite item. Typically Kung Pao has a little spice, this was mild, even by my standards. On the other hand, the Singapore noodles had a little spice that it often doesn't have in other venues, I was pleasantly surprised. The beef and broccoli was delicious. The beef was tender and the broccoli was crisp while nicely cooked. As far as food goes I have zero complaints other than I don't care for zucchini but this was not a deal breaker for me and it was good... yeah, I ate it. And it didn't kill me. My mother would be proud. The restaurant itself is not super cozy but it was clean and I will say they have a few neat Lego sets on display! Great flavors. Great staff. The food is the basic Asian options. I feel most places have Americanized their food. I was hoping this one was the spot that had the real deal. Don't get me wrong, the food was great and had a little heat as they say. Some places say heat then it lacks, this was good. Beef and veggies was tasty. Don't go here for a sit down dinner. Go here for the delicious food and take it home with you. We went here for the first time on Thanksgiving thinking it was going to be a nice restaurant because of the ratings it has. It deserves the ratings but has only 4 tables. We put 2 of them together for 3 people. The staff was very helpful and friendly and helped us decide on our order which the 3 of us all shared. Everything was excellent. Service good, food is good but the place was freezing. They have the thermostat set at 65 the back door open when it was 35 outside. A very unpleasant experience. We live in Salem where not many Asian options are available, so when visiting Corvallis yesterday and daughter wanted Chinese we checked out this place! Amazing! She got the stir fried noodles and they had just the right amount of tenderness and chew, plus a light delicious smokiness, they are legit addictive. I had the potatoes, eggplant and bell pepper stir fry and the sauce was amazing, and the eggplant cooked perfectly. I will have to find more excuses to come to Corvallis now! read more

Definitely fresh and cooked to order. I ordered to pick up and they said it would be 20 minutes or so. Good sign. There are tables here, but I wouldn't eat here. Just not inviting. I ordered the lunch special chicken and mixed vegetables. It was definitely cooked to order and not just compiled. While I waited for my order, a woman was hand-stretching and boiling homemade noodles. I may go this route the next time. I'm not sure what the 'special' part is of the lunch special- maybe smaller than a regular order? But the portion was very generous. Just the entree- no spring roll or anything else as with many lunch specials. The vegetables were perfectly cooked with just a bit of crunch. The sauce was good- not to die for, but good, but WAY too much rice. I couldn't eat even half of it. Now, for the chicken. Perhaps it is just the style of the region, but it was boiled or steamed or something- definitely not stir-fried. Personal preference: I just don't like the texture when it's cooked like this. It was cooked through, just kinda chewy in not a nice way. Not sure if the beef is cooked in the same way, but I wouldn't order chicken again. I will try again- with a different protein. read more

Orient Yang is another legit Chinese take out spot. I repeat TAKE OUT, TO GO! Shandong region style. We ordered off their online menu for lunch and dinner. LUNCH: Tried the Shandong green onion pancake - traditionally a savory flaky pancake. Good, not the best, but I didn't eat it right away. Three-delicacies handmade dumplings - high score, well made and delicious. Will definitely order this again off there online menu. White bun - simple plain thin bun, like the green onion pancake without the onions or flavor. Again, just plain and should probably be paired with some spicy meat dish as a rice or noodle alternative. DINNER: Three-delicacies handmade dumplings (did I mention these were really tasty?). Meat clip bun - slightly spicy crunchy pork (Asian style carnitas?) sandwiched between a nice bun. Delicious! Braised Beef noodles (rice) in broth, also spicy, delicious and easily feeds two possibly three people. Stir fried noodles with pork (OMG!) thin noodles, lots of flavor. Could feed 2-3 people. I had it for leftover lunch, dinner and lunch. Loved it! I can't wait to try this place again and provide an update. read more

I went to Orient Yang today it's on 9th next to the Dominos pizza place. Wow!! It was delicious! I ordered just the stir fry noodles with chicken. It was made right when I ordered it I watched him cook it. It took maybe 5 min. It was delicious! It was 14.00 but i have more than enough left for tomorrow's lunch. Soo tasty I forgot to take a picture. I had the Yu-Shiang Eggplant and my girlfriend had the Sichuan Spicy Chicken. The eggplant was soft and flavorful and the sauce was so good! My girlfriend said her chicken was crispy with good spice and tasty. The staff was welcoming and attentive when I arrived for pickup. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. There is seating to the left that seems to go further into the space. The kitchen is open and you can watch the chefs cook while you wait. Great 5 stars!! read more

I know that the Chef does magic with eggplant, so I tried his Clay Pot Seafood with eggplant. More magic! The eggplant, done just right, is in a scrumptious sauce with a LOT of seafood, shrimp, filets of fish, a tasty item that i could not identify and splendid scallops. His sauces are always superb. In this case, there was a bit of spice but not so much as to overpower the delicate tastes of the seafood, yet it had rich flavors that created a delicious mystery combination. The food here is AMAZING! Instead of typical flavored fried noodle, theirs added cumin flavor into it which makes it unique and delicious. Their fried rice is authentic and the best in town.
