We arrived at 5:20 on a Wednesday as the only customers and by 6 the place was packed. The restaurant is very clean and open. The service was standard, nothing to write home about but not bad. The food- the pho broth tasted like some bullion cubes with water, the add ins like lime, etc were very very slim and almost a joke. The teriyaki chicken meal was good. The food was fresh and hot. The spring roll and shrimp were definitely just purchased from a store and not homemade. There was an adequate amount of sauce on the chicken and the rice. The Thai ice tea was bland and just meh. We would not comeback but would rather go to Ba's comfort food in Albany for Pho. Prices weren't bad for the servings though. read more

So I been coming her for a long time but the restaurant hasn't been doing too good on service and orders. I was with my family members and we were waiting for 37 minutes wondering why our food was taking long. When we are our server they said that the ticket machine broke down. But they one of my family members ask how can that happen when we were behind 1 group and then their was 2 more groups behind us and they got their food before us. So how can out order been missing when the other group behind got their food. Then the server said we still had to wait 15 more minutes for our order. Didn't want to but I was like let's just wait since I already waited 37 mins. I time them since they said 15 more mins and we'll 15 mins by and the server said more time need to make our order. I was done and just canceled the group order. Since my family members were already mad and hungry and didn't wanted to wait no more. We just went to a fast food instead just to eat. A bunch of mushy noodles. Barely any herbs or none at all. Today I tried the pork noodle bowl. Similar to a bun bowl, pork was good the rest wasn't edible. Mushy gross noodles. Not much else to it. Excellent food. The pho broth is as good as any I've had in California. Nothing I've eaten has been a disappointment. The food and service are quite slow though. Every time I've come, there's been one or two servers and the place has been full. Those kids just don't stand a chance at keeping up. Always good food. Sometimes they won't give me chili garlic sauce so I bring my own. They say they don't have it but it's in their peanut sauce for lettuce rolls. When I lived in Corvallis, Kim's was, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant in the whole valley. My husband and I are phó-natics and KH consistently killed it with their stellar noodle offerings and their wonderful customer service. It was always a treat to come into KH's and sit down for a leisurely meal; we were always made to feel welcome. When I returned to the valley for a visit, I was warned by a friend that KH was not as it used to be, that service had gone downhill a bit and that maybe I should skip my stop. But I was undeterred! I would have my delicious noodles! So I went! And sadly, my friend was right. One employee in particular made both myself and my dining companion feel as if we were wasting his precious time just by coming in to eat, despite our attempts to be as friendly as possible. And while this employee wasn't the person who took our order, the same employee did bring the wrong order. Normally I would've sent it back for the correct item but he was so rude that I wasn't prepared to go to battle over a bowl of noodles. The food was, as I expected, still really delicious--the duck broth alone is worth weathering a less than pleasant server--and I left full and mostly satisfied. If you're on the fence about trying Kim's, my advice is to get your order to go so that your possible interaction with Mr. Storm Cloud is a brief one. And definitely get any one of the duck broth offerings--they're truly divine--as well as an iced coffee! read more

We came here starving after a long day. We waited 45-1 hour for our food. I don't think it should take this long for pho. We got a large ($14) pho combo, they gave so much noodles and very little meat. The broth is just ok and you have to ask for any condiments (including basil, sprouts and lime). I'd say overall the service is good but the food is just ok, I wish we didn't have to wait that long for our food. read more

Sorry to say their quality has slipped. We took home pad thai and flame broiled pork rice plate. The pad thai was greasy and bland, very little besides noodles and tofu strips. They are both hardworking and get things done, even during busy hours, and they have more charisma than the 1 other server who works there. When I do not have them as my servers, I've noticed that the service is bad. It becomes slower and less attentive. For example, it took awhile for my order to be taken, and when the food arrived, I was not given the usual vegetables and lime slice you get with pho.
