My child has been in the hospital in Corvallis for several days now and I have had to find dinner on the way home each day. On Friday night, I spotted a Thai place...with a drive thru!??! Um cool. Zipped through the drive up, and I got Chicken Pad Thai zero spice and some fried chicken potstickers. I ate the four dumplings on my drive home. They were fine, crispy with chicken and the usual suspects ( cabbage, onion), inside. They came with sweet chili sauce in a cup which I skipped because I was driving. I ate my noodles at home on the beach. They were still hot after 45 min in the car, and they were fine. They had zero spice because I ordered them like that, fresh bean sprouts were mixed in with tofu, egg, chicken,and thin rice noodles.They came with a lime wedge and a little cup of chopped peanuts. I enjoyed them because they were basic. The whole meal was $ 16 something plus I tipped them. I would probably go again but order them spicy. The guy was nice, the food was pretty quick, and it's not a bad amount of food for the money. That's all I got. From the outside I could see it was a clean and empty fast casual sorta space. I love ordering from Thai Express, but for transparency I must say that I've only ordered takeout/delivery! I've been a customer for about three years now, and I can confidently say that out of all the restaurants that offer takeout in Corvallis, Thai Express is one of the fastest to fulfill orders. Since my food has always arrived hot, well-packaged, and delicious, Thai Express is always a solid go-to in my household. One thing that irks me a little bit is that Thai Express offers the option of adjusting spice level, but my orders do not reflect the spice level I select. I always order my food very spicy, but once it arrives it's always "medium" (it's even written as "medium" on the takeout box). On DoorDash specifically I've tried specifying my preferred spice level in the food modification notes to the restaurant, but the restaurant has this option turned off. If not for the spice issue, my review for Thai Express would be completely glowing! The food (especially the panang curry, my favorite), is so good even if the spiciness is kept at bay. There is so much flavor and comfort in this food, that I tend to order several times a month. At the end of the day, I'm a satisfied customer, and I'll be back! read more

I got so excited to see a Thai Express on our way out of Oregon and picked up dinner for when we arrived home after our road trip. The portions were perfect. A lot of the locations nearby us have closed down, so this was a special treat for us. You have to try the Thai or Lemongrass soup, it is amazing. The food is alright, it's not the best but it's a drive through Thai place so it's convenient. What I can't stand is the service. They ask you for the tip at the drive through, and I mean they verbally ask you... they type it in themselves after asking you verbally, from your car, what you want to tip them. That's just way to disrespectful for me. I was kind of taken back after that, it's one thing when they're standing there holding the card reader while you type in a tip, but typing their own tip in after asking you, in front of other people in the car? Come on!!! Not to mention they usually aren't that pleasant while ordering the food, and then you tip them 15% and sit in your car for 10 minutes. Why would I tip you before I get my food? I came here because I was so excited that there was a drive thru Thai place. We ordered the pad see ew, tom yum soup, chicken dumplings and the asian drink. Their "asian drink" is a canned mango or lychee drink. In the drive thru, the lady didn't even know what the asian drink was. Also, something about it just being called asian drink doesn't sit right with me... idk why it can't just be called mango or lychee drink. The tom yum soup tasted so incredibly watered down. I got it at the medium spice level--barely any spice at all. I should've expected that though. Anyone who says their tom yum soup was good hasn't had real tom yum soup before. Also ordered the soup with tofu and the tofu was just cut erratically. Some tiny square pieces, some long pieces. Wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone. The chicken dumplings were okay, were a little soggy but I did have to drive home first. No need to go into anymore detail on these. The pad see ew was the cherry on top. Immediately appalled at the color. It was extremely dark and had spinach in it. SPINACH? Whose idea was that. If you come here 100% don't order this dish. We were so disappointed we actually drove back to the restaurant and returned our food. I don't mean to be overly negative but it was so bad we couldn't eat it. So do what you want with this information. But as a frequent eater of Thai food, and an Asian person myself... I'm not coming back. It's not faster than any other Thai restaurant in town so the convenience factor isn't there, the food wasn't good, and prices weren't so low where you really saved enough money to warrant going there over another Thai restaurant in town. read more

I was craving Thai food for lunch and saw a review saying Thai Express was NOT to be missed so I went to their food truck in Albany. I ordered the Thai Basil Stir Fry and it was very good!! The owners are very nice and personable, service was excellent and the food was yummy. There is a nice tent for dining and they have heaters to keep you warm. I gave them 4 stars because this is my first visit, but I will definitely be back and would certainly recommend the food truck to anyone wanting good Thai food!! First time trying this place. It's an American style Asian fast food restaurant. Food comes out fast. Service is good. There are pictures of the food so you know what you're getting and you can pick your spic level. I give it 4 stars because I got exactly what I was expecting to get from the kitchen. 4.5 stars? Really Corvallis??? I know our standard for Thai food is low, but these reviews were very misleading. It inspired us to try it tonight and now I wish we hadn't. 1. Imperial Rolls: these still looked and tasted frozen. They were pale as paper and frankly didn't smell OR taste right. I didn't bother after 1 attempt. 2. Pad See Ew: tasted like linguini in a weird sauce with the occasional stick of tofu and leaves of I don't know what. This was probably the most disappointing. 3. Pad Thai: The one saving grace. This had flavor and the tofu/egg bits were very good. I honestly think the sauce made the whole thing, so A+ on the sauce here. It was missing the usual peanut topping that comes with Pad Thai. 4. Vietnamese soup: Beef was tough and chewy, noodles plain, really not much to say about the broth. Would not recommend if you're in a pho mood, you will be sadly disappointed. This is not Thai food. We ordered pad Thai and Thai noodle soup. The pad Thai was scorched and tasted bitter. Chicken overcooked and dry. Soup was so bland I would not call it a broth. I like this place! They started off a little shakey with their order consistency but they have rounded that corner and do a great job now. The food is excellent! The chicken rolls are really chicken potstickers and are great. The pad see ew beef or tofu are fab and the green curry is to die for. I don't know how anything else tastes cause I can't stop eating these! It's about $12 for the curry but I easily get two reasonable (not large) meals out of it so it's worth it to me. I only tried it once. The pad see ew was not like other ones I've had. The vegetables in it were UNDERCOOKED and HARD!!! I love having a healthy option for fast food in Corvallis! The food is very well priced and fresh tasting. Super flavorful! You can tell the staff are still working on smoothing out the way they do things, but the two times I went they were very polite and checked to make sure our order was correct. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because both times I went, the employee at the window either wasn't wearing a mask, or had the mask below their nose. Got the pad see ew medium and basil fried rice. It was very bland and the noodles and rice tasted like water. Weirdest noodles I've ever had in Thai food. I'm used to wide rice noodles and I don't know what these were but the texture was chewy and weird and flavor was so bland. Couldn't eat more than a few bites and will not be ordering again.
