    Thai basil chicken lunch special
    Jason N.

Solid lunch special. I had the Thai basil with chicken. It had a great sauce that was medium spice. You get to pick what spice level you want. 1 to 5. I went with 3 and could of gone higher. It was not very hot. 2 of the people I was with got the pad thai lunch special. They got a ton of food and said it tasted good. I'd probably go with that if you want the most bang for your buck. Service was friendly but only one guy for the whole restaurant. So it took a while to get the food and pay.

3' people dined Nice seating and big and comfortable benches Price is a bit more than expected for quality and portion of food, good size but more for like 1-2 persons and not 3+ for each dish. Tried green curry with salmon that was interesting and drunken noodle and crispy chicken. normally go to Thai place to dine at is Tarntip and their crispy chicken is the actual whole chicken deep fried and then stiffening the wok with the sauce and it's super crunchy, so much that you can just bite the bones and eat it. Thai home restaurant is crispy too but it is more like they coated it with batter then deep fried so it isn't the same and some pieces tasted a bit too oily and greasy. Drunken noodle was moderate. Didn't fit the traditional recipe. Don't think would go for this place over tarntip.

Perhaps the greatest fried rice (we got the BROWN Fried Rice) of all-time. We were very impressed by the flavors, the serving were plenty, and my sister loved the Pad See Lew (she is a renowned connoisseur on the subject). Not to mention super friendly service on a quiet Super Bowl Sunday night, and some really solid seating in an airy space. New favorite ;)

Great tasting food! A little on the pricey side for Thai for for what I'm used to, but the portions seemed appropriate. We came on a Friday night around 7:30. It was busy but they were able to get us seated right away. All of the wait staff was very friendly and attentive for how busy it was, though I did have to ask for a drink menu for their Bangkok Bar. Would be nice to have that menu already waiting of the table. The interior is spacious, clean, well lit, and well decorated. The food took a bit to get to us, but not too long and again it was busy. My Khao Soi Gai was flavorful and creamy, but not too rich to be overwhelming. The chicken easily came off the bone with a for and spoon. My husband had Chicken Panang and we shared a Chicken Pad See Ew. All of our food came out hot, well seasoned, and satisfying. We will definitely come back again.

Probably the BEST Thai food I've had in a long time! The service was very hospitable and the flavors amazing! We ordered Fresh Rolls to start, and then shared Pad Thai, Green Salmon Curry, Ka Pao Kai Dao, Choo Chee Duck Curry. I wish we lived nearby, I'd be coming back over and over. My mouth is watering just thinking of the flavors !

On Friday night, I spotted a Thai place...with a drive thru!??! Um cool. Zipped through the drive up, and I got Chicken Pad Thai zero spice and some fried chicken potstickers. I ate the four dumplings on my drive home. They were fine, crispy with chicken and the usual suspects ( cabbage, onion), inside. They came with sweet chili sauce in a cup which I skipped because I was driving. I ate my noodles at home on the beach. They were still hot after 45 min in the car, and they were fine. They had zero spice because I ordered them like that, fresh bean sprouts were mixed in with tofu, egg, chicken, and thin rice noodles. They came with a lime wedge and a little cup of chopped peanuts. I enjoyed them because they were basic. The whole meal was $ 16 something plus I tipped them. I would probably go again but order them spicy. The guy was nice, the food was pretty quick, and it's not a bad amount of food for the money. That's all I got. From the outside I could see it was a clean and empty fast casual sorta space. Not at all busy at 6:30 on a Friday night. Ya'll should try it!

I've been a customer for about three years now, and I can confidently say that out of all the restaurants that offer takeout in Corvallis, Thai Express is one of the fastest to fulfill orders. Since my food has always arrived hot, well-packaged, and delicious, Thai Express is always a solid go-to in my household. One thing that irks me a little bit is that Thai Express offers the option of adjusting spice level, but my orders do not reflect the spice level I select. I always order my food very spicy, but once it arrives it's always "medium" (it's even written as "medium" on the takeout box). On DoorDash specifically I've tried specifying my preferred spice level in the food modification notes to the restaurant, but the restaurant has this option turned off. If not for the spice issue, my review for Thai Express would be completely glowing! The food (especially the panang curry, my favorite), is so good even if the spiciness is kept at bay. There is so much flavor and comfort in this food, that I tend to order several times a month. At the end of the day, I'm a satisfied customer, and I'll be back!

This restaurant is close to OSU, which is honestly where they get most of their business. We were tired from a long drive up from our home state of CA during our anniversary trip and were stopping to sleep near the OR coast. Corvallis was our rest stop to fuel up before heading to our dispersed campsite. I really wanted Thai food, and from my initial scouring of reviews, Thai Chili looked good. Obviously I was keeping my expectations low given that I come from a state that is known for its wide variety of delicious Asian food. The restaurant was small and spartan, and you order up front before you take a seat. I went with the boat noodles because I wanted soup, while my husband went with the tom yum fried rice. The food arrived promptly and piping hot to our table. I was immediately off put by the type of veggies in my broth. There are no broccoli or carrots in traditional boat noodles. I tried the broth, and it was decent. However, there were also no beef balls in the soup, which is standard for this dish. The noodles were fine. I also noticed that the bean sprouts were already included in the soup, as I did not receive a separate plate of herbs for me to put into my bowl. The spice powder was also already mixed into my broth. I've had boat noodles plenty of times to know what goes into the dish and on the side. In contrast, my husband's fried rice was pretty good. It was a little moist but the flavors were good and the texture wasn't mushy. Again, the spices were already mixed into the rice. We both ordered a medium spicy and both of our dishes were pretty spicy. For what we paid, I expected better Thai food, but honestly, what can you truly expect from a tiny college town in the middle of Oregon? While we left with our bellies full, I was not truly satisfied. I'd like to try some of the other noodle dishes if we go through Corvallis again, as others seem to enjoy the stir fried noodle dishes, but Thai Chili is not high on my list.

I got the spicy teri chicken with rice and Mac salad. It was $14.05 Portion size: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Food: 4/5 The rice was cooked perfectly. Just good old fashioned white rice. Nothing fancy. The Mac salad is in my opinion the best in Corvallis. It is fantastic. Very flavorful without being too mayo heavy. If I had to give it a critique: the noodles are slightly overcooked. I wish there was more cut up carrot or celery in it as well and a dash more salt. The chicken is amazing. Very flavorful. Well cooked. Sweet and spicy. You can taste the ginger in the sauce. If I had to give a critique; I wish there was more char on it. To be clear, there is plenty of char, but I like mine to be a little more charred than normal over an open flame. My only concern is that the deserts in the cooler by the register literally have Costco price tags on them still. That is not an issue at all!! BUT it makes me question the authenticity of the food. I would eat here again for sure. Best Hawaiian food in Corvallis, if you ask me. I imagine the people leaving negative reviews went on a bad day or are just miserable people to begin with. Every critique I am making I was just splitting hairs.
