Thai Home Kitchen was a great dinner stop in Corvallis. I went on a Wednesday night and was able to grab a seat in the bar right away with no wait. The space has a really cool, cozy atmosphere, and the bar area was a nice spot to sit if you're dining solo or just want something casual. Their menu has so many options that deciding what to order might have been the hardest part! I went with the Tom Yum and added extra chicken. It came out piping hot and loaded with chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, and all of those bright lemongrass and lime flavors you want in Tom Yum. I ordered a 3 out of 5 for spice, and it definitely had some heat! It was spicy enough to notice but didn't overpower all the other flavors. The service was also great. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and incredibly quick. Solid lunch special. I had the Thai basil with chicken. It had a great sauce that was medium spice. You get to pick what spice level you want. 1 to 5. I went with 3 and could of gone higher. It was not very hot. 2 of the people I was with got the pad thai lunch special. They got a ton of food and said it tasted good. I'd probably go with that if you want the most bang for your buck. Wednesday early evening; worst service EVER; last time we will go there. Two servers. One dressed like he was going to a rock concert the other could hardly be bothered to bring us menus. The food is really good -- probably the best Thai food in town. I've gotten take out pad kee mao before and just dined in for lunch a couple of weeks ago where I had their Thai basil. While their food is good, the service was the worst I have ever experienced in all my years of dining out, and I will never go back. It was not crowded, there were 2 servers, yet ours could not bring us a third fork and napkin despite our request - I ended up using my friend's spoon. Let me start with I was really excited for Thai food on this trip. However, I couldn't be more disappointed. We walked into Thai Home Kitchen at 6pm, with mid expectations. The seating arrangement is very sparse - 10 booths and 6 tables. All but one booth was taken and the single empty booth needed bussing. Not a huge deal, so when the busser approached us for seating, we asked if we could wait for the booth. A group entered behind us and all was well. We sat at the booth and as a group of three, were talking. As time passed I noticed that the group that came in after us was ordering ahead of us. Not a huge deal. Wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. About 10 minutes later, roughly 40 minutes after our arrival, we had our order taken. Our group continued talking and then about another 40 minutes later, I noticed that the group that came in right after is not only had their food, but were almost finished and a table that had been empty for quite Some time after we arrived had their food delivered. Now it's time to say something. I went up to the kitchen and asked them if our food was coming soon. They said our food is coming right now . I returned to our booth, angry that we've now been here for more than an hour with no food! Then, the food was FINALLY delivered, with the exception of my daughter's Pad Thai. My niece politely reminded her of the missing dish, and the woman (I am guessing the owner) literally told her to calm down! WHAT. THE. LITERAL. HELL? 10 minutes later her pad Thai arrived. When it was delivered, my daughter ordered Mango and Sticky rice. That actually came within a normal amount of time. The food, when it came, was good, for sure. Looked at the other tables with no food looking around for the waiter, who was busy flirting with the girl behind the counter. Great tasting food! A little on the pricey side for Thai for for what I'm used to, but the portions seemed appropriate. We came on a Friday night around 7:30. It was busy but they were able to get us seated right away. All of the wait staff was very friendly and attentive for how busy it was, though I did have to ask for a drink menu for their Bangkok Bar. Would be nice to have that menu already waiting of the table. The interior is spacious, clean, well lit, and well decorated. The food took a bit to get to us, but not too long and again it was busy. My Khao Soi Gai was flavorful and creamy, but not too rich to be overwhelming. The chicken easily came off the bone with a for and spoon. Saturday evening around 5pm we came and the waiter is very kind and helpful, they considered my egg allergy and served the pad Thai which is fried with eggs by default without eggs. The food was served fresh and hot and arrived in a short amount of time. We ordered pad Thai, green curry soup bowl, and mango sticky rice, it was tasty. They do serve large generous portions, so we had to box up some of the food. The place is nice, we were seated on the side, not on the tables in the middle so it felt safer.
