Teriyaki chicken, salad, and gyoza. Yum!!!
    Erica W.

Wow! The teriyaki chicken was so fresh! Everything we had was so good! The gyoza was the perfect combination of fried and steamed. My son, who is a gyoza connoisseur at this point said it was the best gyoza he has had in Lincoln County. The cucumber salad was so flavorful as was the Miso soup! The ambience was traditional Japanese, which I love! And the service was great. All food arrived at a good pace and our server had a very kind and nice demeanor. Overall a great dining experience!

This is the best Chinese food I've found in the area. Everything I've had has been good. I like the orange chicken, vegetable lo mein, strings beans and garlic and crab puffs are delish. For some reason I thought the sweet and sour shrimp would not be breaded. It was a little too thick and doughy for me. Other than that it's been pretty consistent. This is my go to fix when I'm craving Chinese.

Small little hole in the wall that you'd drive by without thinking of stopping bcuz it's off a busy Main Street. But stop and try this amazing restaurant. Small and quaint. Very friendly, service was great. The food was fresh, cooked to order & the food was SO GOOD!!

TLDR: Amazing! Get the Potstickers and Crab Puffs! We moved to Albany from Tigard, Or, and have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant to replace our old favorite (Wu's Open Kitchen- if you're ever in Tigard). We've spent the last year trying different restaurants to come up disappointed, till now! The Show is the best Chinese food we've had in the Albany/Corvallis/Salem area, and would highly recommend!! Favorites: Potstickers, Crab Puffs, Pork Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Cashew Chicken Full Descriptions below! -------- Pork Potstickers: Homemade, pan-fried, stuffed to the brim with meaty filling. One of my all-time favorites Crab Puffs: Super rich cream cheesy goodness. Pork Fried Rice: Simple with a subtle buttery deliciousness. I'm sure their house fried rice is bomb, too. My bf just doesn't love shrimp. Sweet & Sour Chicken: Dished with the sauce on the side when it's take out (which is ideal!!). The chicken is perfectly deep fried puffy pieces with a great chicken to batter ratio. Also, not oily. Cashew Chicken - one of my all-time fav dishes that isn't available at all Chinese restaurants. If fried, you can't tell. It's a perfect texture in between fried and not, with a more marinated flavor. This one is packed with carrots, mushrooms, and a crap ton of celery. I'll be honest, I hate celery, but I love Cashew chicken. Personally, I'd probably order it light on the celery in the future, or without it, but the chicken is so worth picking through the celery for. Not a fan: Broccoli Beef - I normally find hit or miss at restaurants. This one was a miss for me. They nailed the texture (saucy- not gloopy), but it was very peppery in flavor. I am not a peppery person, So it's a pass for me. All-in-all, one of my fav Chinese restaurants of all-time!! Absolutely will be back!! *pic is after we ate all we could and more!

A lot has changed since I left Corvallis 24 years ago. I remember we had a handful of Chinese places and they were of the old school variety. Now I come back here and there is new place all over including this one I had never been to. Came here with the family so was able to try several things including the beef brisket noodle soup and the stir fried noodles places. All were big portions and excellent. It was so hard to choose because there was many good options on the menu. Looking around at other plates from other tables I could tell that I would have equally been happy with other choices. This place seems to be a combo of ordering at the counter and table service. I think the place is small enough to where if they see someone sit down the guy can just pop out from behind the counter and take our order. I am looking forward to visiting my parents again so we can all come back here.

Way overpriced. Terrible food. Oily, salty and full of MSG. I recommend China Delight, although it's not great Chinese food but decent.

Rainy Day, Great Bar Seat, and One Memorable Meal…read more It was a cold, rainy Oregon afternoon when I stumbled into Castor, and I'm glad I did. There happened to be one open seat at the bar, which is my favorite place to dine when traveling. Sitting at the bar lets you talk story with the bartender, learn the menu, and watch the cocktails come together. If you're eating alone, I highly recommend grabbing a seat here. The bartender was friendly, easy to talk with, and clearly knew both the menu and the craft behind the bar. One thing that stood out right away was their use of fresh local ingredients, which really shows up in the flavor of the dishes and drinks. I started with the Golden Manhattan, made with a pecan-infused bourbon that was fantastic. It had a rich, slightly nutty flavor with warm vanilla notes and just the right touch of sweetness. Smooth, balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. Alongside that I ordered the chorizo clam chowder, which brought a creamy base with just the right amount of spice from the chorizo. Comfort food with a little personality. For dinner I switched gears and ordered the Creole Sour. This one really stood out. Bright citrus up front, a smooth bourbon backbone, and a subtle spice note that tied perfectly into the Creole theme. It had that classic sour balance, tart, slightly sweet, and refreshing without overpowering the drink. Dinner was the gumbo with hot bread and butter, and it delivered. Deep flavor, a nice slow warmth from the spice, and hearty enough to make the rainy Oregon weather feel like part of the experience. To finish things off I kept it simple with a neat pour of Ben Holladay, which made for the perfect nightcap. The staff were welcoming and relaxed, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. This is the kind of place that works whether you're dining solo, meeting friends, out with someone special, or grabbing dinner with a group. The price point landed right where it should be for the quality of food, cocktails, and service. If you're in Corvallis and can grab a seat at the bar at Castor, take it. Order a cocktail, settle in, and enjoy the ride. It turned a rainy afternoon into one heck of a meal.

The beef flank stew is nothing like what their photo shows but it's still good. Not really a dry saucy beef, more of a soupy beef stew. Lots of beef (in this economy!) and the right amount of texture. Not too chewy or dry House special fried rice. flavor is ok, kinda bland, but has lots of various meat. Will try the curry one next time Stir-Fried Lamb with Cumin, generous amount of lamb as well. Rich, musky cumin flavor with a great texture. Probably will be crispy if dine in in person Forgot to take pictures for the Braised pork with preserved mustard leaves (梅菜扣肉). Hard to go wrong with this. Pork is stew long enough that it breaks easily. Just wish it's thicker and with more marinated mustard leaves Twice cooked pork. Another stable you have to try for any real Chinese restaurant. A full-blown masterpiece. This isn't your average slice of cheesecake. What Craves serves is a velvety, rich, and luxuriously whipped creation perched atop pillowy-soft brioche toast that's lightly crisped to perfection. It's drizzled in a deep marionberry reduction that strikes the perfect balance between tart and sweet, and topped with plump, juicy blackberries that taste like they were picked fresh that morning. Add in the subtle crunch of a graham cracker crumble dusted over the whole plate, and you've got a dessert that's indulgent, elegant, and dangerously addictive. The texture contrast between the creamy cheesecake filling, the light toast, and the rich berry drizzle is unforgettable. It's like French toast met cheesecake, fell in love, and had a baby--with Oregon marionberries blessing the union. Whether you're a local or just passing through Corvallis, make Craves your dessert destination. I'll be coming back for another round (or three) of this marionberry magic. Bravo to the team--this place is a sweet tooth's dream!
