Surprisingly delicious ramen spot in unexpected location - found this hidden gem as I was making my way back up to Portland from the Oregon coast. Very flavorful broth with generous portions of chashu and nice noodles. Sleek, hip vibes playing lively music, great location, and friendly, attentive staff too! I started with their Butter Edamame app which is edamame in a butter sauce and not something I've come across before. It was FANTASTIC!! The edamame comes with some kind of browned butter sauce and the flavor is just delicious! I then went for their signature AI Ramen which comes with a pork broth and chashu and I got the shrimp add-on. Their topping portions are VERY generous, the broth is savory and flavorful and the noodles and chashu were perfectly cooked. You seat yourself but they offer table service even though this appears like a fast-casual type of spot. Service is so friendly and attentive. Everything is spotless and the aesthetic is very modern and sleek. They're located in a large shopping area with tons of parking and other shops to explore. Had the opportunity to be in Corvallis with my son and he is a fan of ramen so we decided to have lunch here. We both had the AI ramen and split a karaage. The karaage was well seasoned and even though the outside was crispy, the meat inside was juicy. The AI ramen had a bit of a burnt taste at the beginning, but as you ate more it went away and the broth was flavorful and the pork was tender. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place is NOT gluten free. Thankfully I double checked prior to eating my meal. They offer gluten free noodles but the pork, noodles and broth contain soy sauce. I've called the place to inform them they are false advertising as having a "gluten free" option and the person working indicated they had previously raised this with the owner and the owner has not made changes to the menu to be transparent about gluten and non gluten containing items, this is very frustrating as someone who has celiac disease. As we were trying to look up the menu a waiter brought us menus, but no further instruction, so we still ordered online (he came back WAY LATER to take our order.) We waited over 30 minutes for our food and our drinks arrived with our food. The ramen was lukewarm to cold and not that great. Still hadn't received our appetizer, so had to ask. We didn't receive it until we were done eating our ramen. Ordered the karaage, which looked completely unappetizing and didn't taste much better. This is located in a strip mall and is a slower paced, spacious type of fast food restaurant - though they do serve you, bring the menu, take your order, etc. You can pick any table to sit at - there's two large tables in the center and a handful of 2 or 4 person tables on the far left hand side when you walk in. Started with the potato croquette and takoyaki which came out piping hot! Wait before diving in. both were good, though slightly sparse in filling (1 small piece of tako / octopus in the takoyaki and a few carrots/corn in the croquette). The ramen are BIG and filling and delicious. The ai ramen was the best of the batch as the pork broth is rich and flavorful, the shoyu ramen is lighter and as it's base is a chicken broth, reminded me of a wonderful chicken soup with yummy Japanese flavors and bites and the spicy miso ramen is equally good with the Ai Ramen, though it was a little too spicy for me (i'm a spice wimp so please take with a grain of salt. I like mild spice and this ramen was more a medium spice). The servers were friendly and helpful. If the appetizers were as good as the ramen (and the ramen was delicious) this would earn 5 stars. Their kitsune udon & potato croquette are really great- but other than that it was really disappointing :( We were given the wrong order & the waiter was not helpful or considerate about it... Just said they "didn't hear vegetarian so they didn't write down vegetarian" even though others at the table confirmed vegetarian was was said. It was just really awkward, because the waiter didn't offer any help or solution. So two of us got ramen (neither getting what they wanted since they had to switch), and then two of us got poke bowls. The poke was really really salty and came out 20 minutes after our friends had gotten their ramen- the waiter warned us would happen after they brought out the ramen, so there was an attempted heads up. But we werent given an alternative option to order noodles instead & eat at the same time as our friends. It was just an overall awkward and bad dining experience... which is a bummer! I know the place has a few good things on the menu, but this experience definitely ruined it for me :( read more

Happy to see a ramen place in Corvallis, I wish they were around when I was at OSU! Ai Ramen hits the spot. The restaurant is quite spacious so you're not too close to other parties. The workers are very friendly and attentive, always filling up water at the right time. They even let us stay after our meal so my group could talk story which I thought was really nice even though there weren't people waiting for a table. They are very generous with the amount of toppings and I love that the ramen egg is included. The edamame and karaage chicken were great to split across the table. I will say it's a little pricey for a college town but I believe it's worth the treat. I think a happy hour apps and drinks would do really well in Corvallis but regardless definitely give them a try! read more

Open for dine in! Really enjoyed the ramen here, talked to the owner and was told that their ramen broth is bone broth that has been cooked for 12 hours and the chasu pork takes a day to make. It literally melts in your mouth when you eat it. I love that they are not afraid to put more traditional toppings in their ramens such as wood ear and bamboo shoots. The broth is a good amount of rich and they even use black garlic oil in the ai ramen! Thats not very common at ramen restaurants I have been to, but a truly coveted ingredient for me. I would say i prefer the broth a little more hot but may just be a personal preference. I also tried their karaage and it was REALLY juicy and tasty. Truly impressed by that. This place is great! Fresh, clean, and they play hip hop. The food is very good, but I would say it's slightly on the higher price range. I was satisfied and almost licked my bowl clean anyway though. I had the AI ramen, and paid $15. I would definitely pay $15 again but just wouldnt spend extra on drinks or apps. Service was great, the ramen was so satisfying. There is a cheaper option which is the veggie udon for $10 which is nice. All the tempura sidea are within $1-$5. Delicious food that gets from kitchen to table fast! To anyone thinking about trying their milk teas, just know that they're bottled and not made in house. I've tried the Ai Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, and Takoyaki - very solid choices that will fill you up. I think one improvement that could be made is the staff. All of the times that I've visited the restaurant outside of peak lunch or dinner hours, it seems that there's only been one server for the entire floor. Understandably, the server appears overwhelmed and wait times get longer. Please make sure your servers get the breaks they deserve!
