We were pleasantly surprised to find this place on our way back from the coast from Google search. Tugged in a little strip mall which is quite appropriate for sushi joint like this, plenty of parking outside and spaces inside. The place is clean and well managed overall, wait staffs are pleasant the small town folk friendly feel. Food portion is definitely larger then most similar type of sushi places in big cities. We eat raw fish so freshness is very important to us, this place passed the quality standard for us, we ordered what we normally choose in other sushi places, and ended up taking quite a few home being so full with the big portions lol. The food and service has become terrible I showed up an hour or two before close my wife and I were served separately up to 20 minutes apart our drinks got there after 20 minute wait it took 20 minutes to even get a server to speak to us the food now tastes like something I would not serve my cat. Their teriyaki sauce please think something that came out of a Hienz bottle. And apparently they forgot how to cook eel. They're fish sauce taste like something that was mixed out of a bottle of Heinz ketchup. I had been dining there for many years prior but when the pandemic came through they elected to stop accepting us tender so I gave it a skip for multiple years this is the first time I have tried it since and it is seriously gotten bad neither myself nor my friends will go there ever again read more

I can recommend the luncheon bento box if you like teriyaki chicken, tempura, and rice. It comes with miso soup, cucumber salad, and tea. If you have a bigger appetite or plan to split the meal, the dinner bento gives you lots of choices for lunch or dinner. I usually request steamed vegetables instead of the rice, since it typically comes with sashimi and that's more than enough rice for me. I've been eating both these bentos since the restaurant opened many years ago, and they have never disappointed me. For a variety of raw fish I prefer the chirashi (a bowl of sushi rice and sashimi), and request that they do not include any escolar. This fish can cause diarrhea because it contains high levels of indigestible waxy oils, and should never appear on any menu, period. read more

Nothing special. IMO miso was good (I make it myself, and like to think I have high standards), pickled cucumbers were a delight. High points of the meal. Not a fan that their menu doesn't have prices, but understand the struggle. I sort of enjoyed hearing the lone other customer ask where the prices were... I forget what they call it, but their basic "chicken teriyaki" was OK, but certainly not exceptional. The items (chicken, rice, very scant veggies) were not mixed at all, and the sauce pooled at the bottom. Not impressed. Momiji has some serious good deals for lunch. I ordered one of their lunch specials that includes 2 types of sushi and 1 roll for $11.50! I went with the salmon and tuna nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. The plate also comes with miso soup and a cucumber salad. Everything tasted so good! I just wish the spicy tuna rolls had a bit more spicy tuna in them. The service is consistently great. The hostess we saw today was kind and efficient. It was lunch time so between the nonstop phone orders, people coming in to grab their take out orders, and us ordering and waiting for our food; I would say that she did very well under the strain. We typically get the lunch special which is either two pieces of nigiri as well as a roll, or just two mix of match rolls (from a select number of non-specialty items). For $10 it's the perfect amount of sushi for the average person, in my opinion. I just want to be clear that three stars in my opinion isn't a bad rating. A three star is an "A-OK" from me. I stray away from anything more than that when I'm dining at a chain restaurant. You get what you'd expect in terms of quality and pricing and being treated as if you are already a repeat customer. I will also mention that I have dined at the Lebanon location before and I wrote a review on that experience as well. Albany does sooo much better at holding up the company's quality standard. Is the food good? Sure, they have some pretty good sushi. I have had better elsewhere, but in Albany this sushi is pretty good stuff. A lot of variety, the fish tastes fairly fresh, it is well prepared and well displayed. Is the food fairly priced? I feel that comparing this to what I have had elsewhere and for what you get, it is pretty overpriced. Even with the lunch special, which provides pretty boring sushi options. I have come here solo for lunch a couple times and have spent $20 each time, ordering 2 items hoping to be full. I must say I do enjoy my sushi, and living in Lebanon for the time being, the selection isn't exactly big when it comes to sushi. There is a Momiji in Lebanon, but honestly, going to Albany is well worth the drive. Not being one of the larger cities of the world like Seattle, Portland, or Vegas, you may not expect Albany to have good sushi, but they have some good sushi. I definitely wouldn't say it's the best that I have had, but I was very pleased with how it tasted. I got a few rolls for dinner, and none of the fish tasted old or had a strong fishy taste at all. That speaks good news to my taste buds. Along with my dinner, I got a bento box which had a good selection of different meats, a side, and a roll. I ordered the Lion Roll and Subob roll today... they were okay a 3 out of 5. Totally better than all the rest of the restaurants in the area but nothing spectacular. I think the Miso Soup and Cucumber salad was the best part of my meal. I will say I have had their calamari and it's the best calamari I have had in the area as well. Not really sure if this place is worth the drive from Corvallis but if you are running into Albany for any reason it's a decent place for a snack if you are willing to pay the price. Momiji's interior and seating is modern and up to date and neat. There food selection is excellent. It is also very delicious. They have a good selection of sushi. Went there today for lunch. Arrived early and was seated right away. Planned on ordering a couple of appetizers for the table and some hot tea. The first server dropped of water and left. No greeting. Waited 10 minutes for her to come back to the table. Had to go get up and order from another server. Asked another gal to be our server since the first one was unfriendly. The second server did an amazing job. When we were all done, I tried to give her a $20 tip to not share. She said they pool their tips. I hate that.
