I used to think Jade Garden just had cheap, bland Chinese food, but I go there with my friends quite often now, and the food is always delicious and hot. I love their chop suey, Kung Pao King, and their Mongolian Beef. Sooo good. Their egg flower is good, but nothing special. I'm sure I'll find more dishes that are yummy too. read more

Stopped in to eat here do to convenience while pulling my trailer from Amity to Eugene and back again. The building looks nice and interior was clean. We ordered the special of General Tso's Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken. I had hot tea which turned out to be Jasmine instead of the usual orange pekoe (not a fan). The dinner came and while the flavor of the General Tso's was OK the deep fried breading was about 70 to ratio with what i suppose was chicken and the pork in the fried rice was hard and chewy. I ordered the beef with mixed vegetables lunch special with hot/sour soup, spring roll and steamed rice to go, The good: Veggies were fresh and cooked just right for me- still a bit of crunch. No cabbage which was a welcome surprise. The not so great: Soup was watery tasting. A bit spicy but lacked any flavor. Didn't finish. Spring roll was basically cabbage filled. No sauce provided other than soy sauce. Waste of calories. Took one bite only. The Ugly: Glad I didn't eat in. Weird smelling place and weird vibe. Pretty empty for lunch which fits. Staff wasn't particularly friendly. Ok, what the heck kind of beef is that??? The only word I can think of to describe is slippery. I think it was over tenderized, maybe and boiled??? It was weird. And way too much cooked celery in the dish. I guess it is cheaper than cabbage. If I was super hungry and didn't want other fast food, I might go back just to get filled up but would opt for vegetarian. First time here, service was great, food was delicious as well. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. I got the pork and eggplant with garlic sauce. Wish it came w more pork then eggplant but eggplant was crispy and the sauce was more sweet then garlicky. My s/o got the kung pow chicken w fried rice. Both great dishes. We did start off with the potstickers which tasted great too. The table only came w forks and had to ask for chopsticks. And there was an American menu section, that I thought was odd. have been eating here for 30 years and have never had a problem. have gone through their menu many times over as well as specials. as with most restaurants that rely on fresh vegetables every once in a while you are stuck with some that are not 100 percent or not be able to have a complete menu, but they manage to do it. read more

Absolute garbage food. I'd rate this as No Stars if that were possible. I experienced the same physiological reaction as when I've eaten food containing MSG, so I conclude that the cook either adds it, or the glop "sauces" they purchase have MSG in them already. I felt nauseated from that Jade Garden pseudo-biomass too. No interior ambience; and same ugly, creepy faćade for decades. The staff was nice and it was clean... but the food we had was dry rice, dry fried rice and the main dishes we ordered "Happy Family" and Curry Chicken was the saltiest food I've ever had. Cheap, hearty and hot, I got me a quick plate of Chinese food without much fuss. I perused the menu on Yelp before I walked a block from the hotel. I was seated right away (not terribly busy) but was a little put off by the server's curt attitude. Smile a little more! Be a little more pleasant! She was mighty efficient, the beer was cold, and the chilled glass a bonus. I was a bit surprised by the almond chicken, not like the usual stuff I've had, breaded and covered in gravy. No, this was much fresher, not breaded, the chicken very tasty and the almond slices and celery crisp and crunchy. Two thirds of my plate was this, and one third was sweet and sour pork. The hubby and I were starving by the time we arrived here. We were supposed to stay at the river, but the guy at Mel Cotton's sold us a tent with NO rods, so we were screwed and had to buy new ones, but it was too late so we had to check in the motel and eat here. We order the appetizer sampler which had prawns, shrimp chips and bbq pork. Then we ordered the beef and mixed veggies and the chicken with mushrooms. Both were ok, but I was questioning of what I ate was beef. Or was it not fresh. I didn't get sick off of the food, but the server was nice and the soda refills were flowing. I only go for there eggplant with garlic sauce, it is amazing! The plates are huge! The service itself is ok. The place itself looks like old dinner on the outside, the inside is not amazing but I will continue to go back just for the eggplant with garlic sauce! read more

This place used to be awesome! What happened? Last few times my fiance have been here the food has been awful. They suddenly started deep frying everything! I ordered seseme chicken and they brought out a plate of what tasted like Chicken Mcnuggets with dipping sauce on the side. Just plain laziness. Got an order to go from Corvallis to take home in Newport, OR. Set the food container that was placed in plastic on seat of car. Got home in 1Hr all the juices from my Shrimp/pea pods was all over my leathers seat. Food container had a slit in side so all the juices leaked into plastic bag which then leaked into my car seat. I came here at 1:30ish on a Monday and the place was dead which I rather enjoyed, except that there wasn't an employee anywhere in sight. Finally I was greeted by a women with a mouth full of food. I understand people have to eat. But I would prefer not seeing your being all mushed up in your mouth while you're trying to talk to me. The food came pretty quick but i only ordered sweet and sour chicken and rice. The food was pretty decent the server came to refill my water a couple times. But then she brought me my check without asking me anything. In my experience on the restaurant industry that is a no no.
