My husband Max and I ordered a delivery from Panera for Jet blue on Thursday December 5th. I wanted to take the time to express that the service was amazing as well as the food. The delivery driver Tim was very professional and courteous. He called me when the delivery was on its way, he was on time and even offered his help which was greatly appreciated. I did not realize at the time what the tip policy was until I read the receipt but by then Tim had already left. I called back to Tim and explained I wanted to add his tip to my credit card and he advised me Panera cannot and will not charge my card. I advised the driver he is more than welcome to come back for his tip which he really deserved but Tims response was "no thank you it's the holiday season just enjoy the food and time with your family". It was a pleasure dealing with Tim and we really hope we get him again in the future. Tim explained he works for a delivery service company called LR DELIVERIES. Oh, I am NOT a chain fan, but when our local bagel place was crowded and we needed another place for a quick breakfast, well, Panera did the job. This particular branch ROCKS for letting people hang out for a long long time. Yay, Panera. Without the NYC regulations about posting nutritional info, I wouldn't enjoy this place nearly as much. Seriously. I love the bagels, and the bear claws, and the muffin tops, and the healthy sammiches. But you have to be aware that not all of the choices are healthy, and that you need to check out the info prior to ordering. We love getting the Asiago bagels and the pastries and the other low-fat, low-calorie options (bless you NYC for requiring nutritional info). read more

They had sidewalk seating until it began to rain. The seating was under an awning. Nothing and no one actually getting wet. The furniture could probably take the little moisture with no problem. This place used to be okay, but lately, they're constantly messing up up orders, half-@$$ing the sandwiches, and are incredibly slow. Then some bearded jack@$$ hipster who looks like he crawled out of 2005 Williamsburg refused to make my smoothie after I had been waiting for it for 35 minutes while I ate the rest of my order. I had to wait for that moronic deadbeat midwest transplant to fetch the manager (another 5 minutes as my food continued to get cold) since I didn't remember where I stuffed my receipt. By then, I was ready to go and had to spend another 5 minutes figuring out where my receipt was (they don't require you to show the receipt to receive your food at Panera) to get a refund. I hope this craphole chain suffers the same fate as Applebee's. read more

So today was the third time in a month that me and my girlfriend have gone to Panera in Astoria and all three times we've had issues. I'm finally speaking out about these issues because I'm disgusted. The first time they got my sandwich order all wrong and by the time they got the sandwich correct my girlfriend was already done eating. The second time they put some kind of meat that was supposed to be ham on my sandwich. It tasted like cardboard. And today, the one time I didn't order anything, while my girlfriend ordered a caesar salad and a chicken salad sandwich to go. We get home and she starts eating her sandwich first which she liked and when we thought they finally got it right, she opens the caesar salad to find an extremely curly hair in her first bite. We were grossed out and she kinda brushed it off until she found another curly hair in her second bite. Double freakin whammy. Three strikes and you're out. We will not be visiting this establishment ever again. I and I gave 1 star because they're lucky they got good baguettes. read more

Place is ok. I think the layout is really odd and a-little confusing. But this location seems to a place where kids in school hang out and also people who aren't really dining here but just hanging out, like a Starbucks. I chose Panera as a treat this morning. Feh. My first clue that they have lost their edge is the coffee selection: dark, light, decaf, hazelnut. No varietals noted. I went ahead and placed the order, sausage cheese egg sandwich. Not challenging but I have a purpose...which went unfulfilled. After 15 minutes...during which other people get their sandwiches, I come to the pickup counter, where I verify that none of the sandwiches has my name or my ingredients. Woman behind counter asks whaduiwant. I tell her I'm wondering what happened to my order. She insists that the egg cheese and _bacon_ sandwich for "Dave" is mine. I explain the deviation whereupon she offers to put sausage on Dave's sandwich. I cancel. I then have to overcome resistance from the cashier ... even the manager got involved ... too little too late. I don't trust the sandwichmaker not to add a special ingredient. The manager should have made a timely intervention before now ... I doubt this is the first time she has fubared an order. And with her badditude, it's obvious Panera does not employ shoppers. I got really hungry just by waiting in line, the food was very good, I really never have any complaints about Panera bread food, it always seems fresh. So I came into panera bread with a friend that never came. So we are looking at the menu and deciding what to order. It wasn't even busy and the lady at the counter was being so rude. She kept on shaking her head and giving us the look. She even turned to whisper something to one of her coworkers. I love this chain cafe. I have been to this particular location many times because a lof of my friends live in the Astoria area. I usually get the chicken noodle soup and a drink. Sometimes, I get one of their salads and sandwiches. There are a lot of options. And there are also free refills on sodas. I love the seating becasue I love booths and there are a lof of them here. This is a great place to have conservations with your girlfriends or a great place to read a book while eating. In my case, I will be reading my kindle. The AC can be high so you may be alittle cold, depending on where you sit. So bring a light jacket if you plan to do some studying or reading here. I am a fan of this chain restaurant. And Panera just opened another location closer to me. I am so happy! read more

I really don't understand how you can mess up food in the chain restaurant industry. This Panera bread is by far the worst. At least on Friday nights. It's been about 3 weeks that I go every Friday night right after the gym. By this time they are usually out of at least one ingredient in your food (salad dressing, green tea juice just a few examples) the staff is rude and seem very unhappy to be there. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and stayed quiet about my issues for 2 weeks. Until today. I ordered an roasted turkey avocado blt. The T in blt stands for tomato (at least that's what I have been told) no tomatoes in my sandwich, avocado was brown and instead of roasted turkey I got chicken! Great option for moms and kids who want to get something quick that isn't chicken fingers. The Turkey sandwich and yogurt is great as well as the macaroni and cheese. The salads are yummy and pretty fresh for fast food, pretty much all low calorie. The coffee is very good too especially with their cookies. I've spent many years going to this location because it is right by my school and have always had a good experience. However, this time I found a promo code online and they were holding onto my food instead of putting it in the to go section. When I went to the cashier to ask about my food the employees were aggressive and started questioning where I had gotten the code from. I like Panera a lot. They have very good soups, Broccoli and cheddar is one of my favorites, their salads are decent and their salad dressing is very good. Sandwiches are good too, my favorite is the Frontega chicken, made with a very tasty bread and toasted after you order. Their coffee is not the best, but it is flavorful and it's a plus that you can drink as much coffee as you want. My favorite tough, is the baked egg souffle they serve early in the morning. It's quite a treat, nutritious and you can see the calories each different one carry as well, which makes the whole breakfast experience a little more interesting... My negative side to it is that they serve breakfast (souffles and egg sandwiches) until 9:30AM or until it lasts (usually, never after 9:30PM), after that you are left with nothing really nutritious to eat from 10AM to 11:30AM, when you will be ready to order soup or sandwich. It bothers me that they know the breakfast items sell, but don't make more to last a little longer every morning. It's a very pleasant place and it's perfect if you want to do some work, use the Internet or read or even have a meeting. I have done that many times. read more

I really enjoy coming here because they have great food and excellent customer service by the cashiers. There's one thing that really bothers me and has happened multiple times ( which is the reason I'm giving it 3 stars). I have seen the manager Mike reprimand the employees in front of customers in a very unprofessional/rude way. Customers shouldn't have to know what's going on behind the counter ( do those things in private FYI). Not only those he look bad, his embarrassing the employees and making customer fee uncomfortable. I hope upper management corrects this, someone like that shouldn't be managing anybody.
