The cashier took forever to get my order right and he still got it wrong and to make things worse he forgot to give me a receipt

I don't like writing bad reviews. I don't! I'm usually an easygoing customer because I have worked 6+ years in customer service. So when I went in this afternoon to grab a quick lunch, I was disappointed! The food at this Panera is always great & I've had great service before. Today when I tried to check out at a Kiosk, like I have before, the kiosk didn't complete my order. I swiped my card multiple times & was immediately alerted by my bank from these charges. A young man helped me try to figure it out, he was the only one to offer a free pastry, which i refused because at this point I wasn't upset. After he told me the kiosk didn't work they took my order at the register. The girl at the register talked to her supervisor about what happened. The supervisor was not friendly. She said that my "order should've went through" if they charged me. & it didn't! She continued to make me feel like I was the one who did something wrong. She acted like I had made up this entire scenario to get a free meal. I was getting upset silently. The girl at the register pretty much tested me on how much my order totaled out to & repeated it back to the supervisor. They ended up placing my order, but did not offer to compensate me. This only upset me because I was charged twice on my card, which they never corrected. In customer service that is just so wrong, you do anything you can to improve the customer's experience or handle it with a smile! The supervisor on this afternoon was dismissive and rude. Ughhh... so annoyed with this Panera right now. Literally just ordered a sandwich with no bacon, no cheese, with Rapid Order and when I got home the sandwich had cheese and was missing the sauce. Now I double checked my order before check out so I know the two items I wanted missing. Its just so frustrating to get home and have to eat a dry sandwich when the sauce is what makes the sandwich so delicious. And this was not the first time my order was messed up through the Rapid Order pickup. I guess I need to stop using that feature at this Panera read more

I've never had a complaint about Panera before as they have always been on point but this morning I ordered a dozen bagels and 2 tubs of cream cheese online with special comments stating to please slice all bagels. I picked up my order and didn't check the bag as I was in a hurry to take these to work. When I got to work there was no cream cheese so I had to drive all the way back on my break to pick it up then when I finally get back to make my bagel I find out that the bagels weren't sliced. Why have a comment section if the comments aren't going to be read? I don't know if they have new people who don't know what they're doing or what but this was a major inconvenience of my time and I'm very disappointed in Panera. Just a word of advice, check your order no matter how much of a rush you're in. read more

I ordered a curbside pickup my husband waited for about five minutes,but no one came out. He got out of his car and waited outside the door and a customer came out and told him no one will be coming out to bring your order you have to go in and your order will be on the counter. My husband went in (had a mask) and looked for his name on the bag and came home. I took out the containers of our food and in one of the bags was and extra bread with part of it torn off. He didn't want to go back and complain so we ate our lunch but didn't enjoy it like the previous times. We wonder if they thought out bag was a trash bag. Never going back read more

Fresh Food and A Welcoming Staff. Love this place, the food and baked goods are always fresh and tasty. My friend and I have been meeting there once a week, we like the comfy outdoor seating and the way the staff is so warm. We'll hang out for a few of hours; the staff (usually Sara) stops by to see if there's anything she can bring us, but never makes us feel like we've overstayed our visit. My new favorite is their tea lattes, hot or iced, they're delish! read more

Panera Bread has some of the best food but I am so disappointed in the customer service I received at my visit that I am posting while I'm still here. I waited 20 minutes for my food and nothing. I had to ask how much longer it will be for them to check and then bring my food. Turns out it was food that Iwas sitting at the ready counter for over 10 minutes. Oatmeal and toasted bagel was cold. Macaronni and cheese was still warm. Nobody thought to see who it belonged to. Then instead of being asked if I wanted them to heat up my good they asked if I wanted a pastry. The bread that came with my tomato soup was so moldy at the bottom so I exchanged it with chips, but then the soup had chopped bread in it and tasted like mold! Watch your food from this location. They don't care about their customers. read more

Likely the worst panera bread ive been to and ive been to ones in chicago irvine and brea areas...theyre out of alot of items from their menu along with no large cups...they were kind enough to give me 2 regulars cups instead...also 1st panera bread that charges for refill of iced coffee... I came here in the morning with my son for breakfast. We eat at Panera every week. My cashier was Alanah. Smile! The cashier next to her was smiling & happy. Alanah seemed like a robot. My son wanted classic grilled cheese sandwich, which was delicious. However, she mistaken & ordered my coffee as his drink. So my son got no drink with his combo. I ordered a toasted blueberry bagel with coffee. When I asked another Panera worker about my order, I showed him my receipt & he said that my son didn't order a combo. I didn't want to argue with anyone but my receipt clearly shows my coffee & chips with my son's order of grilled cheese sandwich. Customer service can be much better. read more

Very friendly service, and their food is as good as I remember it when I used to go to my relatives in the east coast and hit up their locations as much as possible. My favorites include the souffles and their decadent brownies. Their array of bagels and unique flavors are sure to delight anyone. Asiago is the best!!! Just opened as of June 15th. Hurry and get free samples on their brownies- between the two offered I'd pick the chocolate one! Let's just hope the warm and welcoming atmosphere stays as great as it did opening day!!!! read more

I'm so glad they put a Panera in Cerritos! Me and my girlfriends love to meet here for some good quality time over a cup of coffee or for lunch. The food is fresh and tasty. Love the salads, sandwiches, pastries and all you can drink hazelnut coffee. The bagels are always so fresh! It is very clean and cozy. I noticed that a lot of people also come here to study or work which is pretty cool since they have free wi-fi. read more

Ah, a refreshing and calming visit to the quaint and trendy establishment known as Panera Bread. I really did enjoy my meal, but it could've been better, which is why I'm not quite going to put that extra star on. As usual, I went "restaurant-hunting" in the middle of Cerritos, for the third time this week, and after having no luck finding a more "exotic" restaurant, we decided to visit Panera. The parking was not a problem, and the place gave off a welcoming vibe. It seemed to give off the impression that the day had been a quiet one for PB, and everyone was relaxed. What actually surprised me was that the locale was quite full, and yet the service was still comfortable. All things aside, the customer service was friendly, and our food was delivered promptly. For my order, a french onion soup and a Chicken Frontega panini, served with a nice Hibiscus Iced Tea (I'm a sucker for hibiscus). The soup was awesome, but it lacked texture, which I found odd for a french onion soup that, while it certainly tasted good, felt more like a broth to me. The panini, however, hit me for a home-run. The spices were present, and the seasoning gave the meal a fresh and light taste. Combined with the hibiscus tea, and the day itself (it was a hot one), it definitely made for a great experience. That, and the fact that I can watch Netflix through the free wi-fi. This is the spot to get a delicious breakfast and smoothie. The steak and egg breakfast sandwhich which is made with a bagel is really good and a must try. The strawberry smoothie is yummy. Service is quick for breakfast. The bagels are always hard to choose as there are many options to choose from. There is plenty of seating, clean and spacious. Parking is good in the morning. I always looked forward to Panera's in Cerritos because it was always meticulously clean but today was a major disappointment. The floors as well as the counters were wet and dirty by the coffee station. Also above the trash cans there were a high pile of dirty dishes which gave a bad impression. That should have been a sign to walk away. The reason I am leaving my review, is that the creamer must have been expired, because my friends and I got sick immediately after we left. The creamer should be regularly changed due to lack of refrigeration. read more

Normally I enjoy food here but for some strange reason this location wasn't a good experience. Ordered a simple egg sandwich and it took them 15 to 20 minutes to bring out. They also had no utensils when I asked for it so I had to wait for that as well and the worker asked me why I needed utensils for. Mind you the place was fairly quiet with little customers but about 5-6 workers behind the counter doing god knows what. Sad that I have to rate this location with such a low score. Other than that, staffs are nice except for that one lady who cleaned the table and chair beside us, she constantly hit the chair not in purpose maybe but it's making our chair move too. Not only did they forget the bread bowl I paid for, but they gave us knives instead of spoons for our soup. Is it incompetence or just pure apathy that caused this to happen? Had the most rude experience in my over 10 years of living in this area. Walked in, no one greeted me for a VERY long time, but I'm a patient person, so I still waited. Eventually, FOUR workers looked me dead in the eye and each one ignored me. I was shocked. I have worked in restaurants/cafes before, and you should acknowledge your customers, ESPECIALLY if you look them in the eye. Like wtf. I was fed up and was still polite and said, "Excuse me." And they STILL ignored me. I had to repeat myself five times AND raise my voice a little higher (still in a nice way)! One of the rude women at the front eventually told me that I had to order via a kiosk. Like...you couldn't tell me that when you looked me in the eye 10 minutes ago? All rude ass bitches in the front, I couldn't believe it. I looked through the kiosks and each one was out of service. I informed the same bitch as before and she said she'd help me out in a minute. Waited 10 minutes again when eventually I realized she wasn't coming back and hid out in the kitchen. I left because guess what? I don't tolerate bullshit. And neither should the management of this place but obviously they do because I saw someone who looked to be the shift lead and she was one of the bitches who ignored me. You lost a customer. Fuck this place and don't go. Everyone here is a rude piece of shit that it's unbelievable. I've worked in a busy cafe as the only cashier with lines out the door all day long and STILL gave 5-star service, so it's actually possible not to be a bitch and to do your job. I was at this Panera yesterday and was DISCRIMINATED against by the manager Robert De Leon. He accused me of stealing my drinks and told me NOT to come into "his" store. I explained to him that the self-serve kiosk allows me to redeem rewards (like the free coffee in July) without sliding my card because its free. Also the machine gives the option of saving a credit card for future purchases so that I dont need to slide again. I explaining to him that it was a misunderstanding and that he should ask me first before publicly humiliating, making assumptions, and accusing me of theft. I told him to apologize and he said "I will not apologize, you are a thief, leave my store." THOUGHTS I have been going to this Panera for years and he has always discriminated me for my wardrobe, race and tattoos. I use to ignore it but public humiliation and accusing me of theft was something I couldn't overlook. He gives poor customer service and i expected Panera to make their employees carry themselves with a standard of excellence and better customer service void of bigotry. I never did appreciate the stares and poor treatment that I received from him. FOLLOW THROUGH I filed a complaint against him with corporate and was given a reference number. Also they looked up my Panera card and verified my July rewards. Before I called corporate, I told him I was filing a complaint and his response was... "Please Do". i seriously don't understand why everyone raves about Panera Bread.. i've had them a LONG time ago at the Tustin location, but my visit there was on rushed-terms so i wasn't paying any attention to the taste or my surroundings for that matter. i returned to Panera Bread at the request of my gf who has never tried it before and had heard there was one in Cerritos across the street from the mall. i checked out the menu online -- no prices listed -- got an idea of what i wanted when i got to the Cerritos location. once i got to the restaurant the line was several people deep, so we grabbed one of the takeout menu's and reviewed the priceless menu once more. when it was our turn to place our order, i had looked up at the bigger menu on the wall and realized why they neglected to post prices online or on their takeout menu -- they're expensive and seemingly justify the expense behind the label of being "artisan". first off, let me say that the service at Panera Bread is pretty darn good and that my qualms isn't of any concern to the service. they have a quick turn-around, the manager walks around to make sure everything is peachy, and the bus-boys are always on the hunt to make your visit that much more enjoyable. the food is moderately good. i ordered the Asiago Roast Beef sandwich. the flavor was good, but overall underwhelming. it was the definition of average. i thought it was something i could easily make on my own at home with ingredients bought from the local supermarket -- including the asiago and the roast beef. as far as an $8 sandwich goes, it was unimaginative. the thing i couldn't wrap my head around was the justification of spending $8 on the sandwich itself and $5 more dollars for a bag of chips and a medium size soda. seriously? a $13 meal for an average sandwich, chips and soda? if i had known, prior to ordering, that the sandwich was $8.. i would have ordered something else. i mean, i'd have no problem paying $8 for a sandwich, but it better well be a pretty darn good sandwich to begin with and not some average lunchbox sandwich. i'm giving Panera Bread two-stars. i really hate to do that, especially since the service was great and the sandwich was moderately good, but it's just the price in regards to the quality irks me that much. for those who care or want to see where i'm coming from.. check out Pacific Whey Cafe -- order the Roast Beef & Feta sandwich. the half-sandwich is $8 and the same size as Panera Bread's full. best roast beef sandwich around.. read more

Easily the worst Panera I've been to. I only still come because it's close. I can always count on all the open tables to be dirty, piles of dishes around the trash, and more often than not the coffees are more than a few hours old or out all together. My food is very inconsistent with quality. I get that it can get busy, but there's no reason for the place to consistently be in such disarray. So this is the second time I've had a problem with Panera in Cerritos. I thought maybe things would be better but no. I needed to put in a order for a work meeting for 10 people. I try calling, every number they tell you to push to reach either a manager, catering, online etc and all extensions were busy. I called at 10:00 before lunch and after the breakfast rush. Rings busy constantly. So I get ahold of the corporate office and they transfer me right over. A girl answers and try's to take my order while putting me on hold during the order process about 3 times and each hold is for about 5 minutes. I'm on the last item to order she puts me on hold again and when they come back on the phone it's a different girl. I ask "are you the girl I was just talking to?" And she reply's "no, what would you like to order?". What the heck!!! I've just spent 30 minutes trying to get this order taken!! At this point Panera has lost me as a customer. I explain to her that I won't repeat everything again that I just told the last girl and tell her Nevermind, you've just lost a customer. And she says sorry and hangs up. Other Panera's I don't have a problem with but the Cerritos location is a hot mess. read more

I'll make this short - this place sucks. I paid 14 dollars for a lemonade and a sandwich, the grossest sandwich I've ever had... I'd rather go to subway. The interior design is tacky and the outlets can only be found at the smallest tables in the place. Don't give me flack about sitting at your bigger table when I just saw someone else sit there without being told off because your service takes basically a year and a half to clean up any of the tables. Honestly, it's not like I didn't order anything, and none of your bigger tables are next to an electrical outlet. Two people can't fit their books and your food on these small tables that you apparently think is perfectly fine for that. Excellent addition to Cerritos considering the lack of fresh soup/salad/sandwich spots. The bread here is delicious and I love the soup/salad/sandwich combos you can get. I liked my low fat strawberry smoothie w/ginseng too even though I did see them pour some puree stuff into the blender. Fresh fruit smoothie would be my preference, but they aren't really known for smoothies anyways. I had there apple salad which would have been better if it was made with fresh apples as opposed to apple chips! read more

After work last Tuesday, I came to Panera around 6PM or so hoping to get the dozen bagels deal. They had ran out of the Asiago, which are my favorite, so I just left. I decided to try again yesterday (Tuesday 9/29/15), but this time I ordered online before I left to work (around 8am). I used their rapid pick up option and scheduled my items to be ready for me by the time I got off from work.. Long story short, I forgot to pick up the bagels. So this morning I called Panera seeing if they still had my order or if I just lost $6.99. The representative on the phone transferred me to Robert, this store's manager, and Robert said to come in and that they could take care of it. I went in, and he was kind enough to replace my order no charge! I really didn't expect they would be understanding enough and replace my order for free but I'm very appreciative they did! read more

This place might be great for the free wifi, but if you are looking for a satisfying meal look elsewhere. I ordered the soba noodle chicken bowl with an apple on the side. I received a lukewarm bland soup. The noodles were clumped together and seemed to be sitting for a while. I also received a hard piece of bread on the side instead of my apple. If I am paying 8.99 for a bowl of soup, the least this establishment can do is serve me a well warmed up bowl of soup and the apple that I ordered. This place is such a disappointment. Went into this location for the first time, staff was cool. Want to shout out to David who literally was doing it all. Running food. Standing at expo and cleaning tables, ALL WITH A GREAT ATTITUDE. Great place to study, chat, have a meet-up. It has great food, nice music and I love the samples that come around on occassion. It has free Wi-Fi so studying is enjoyable. No one seems to bother me if I've been studying for hours at a time. One drawback is that there is only 2 hour parking around the restaurant. If you plan on staying longer, you have to park in the back area. I'm not one to enjoy walking into a back alley parking lot at night. read more
