I've been to this Panera a few times in the past two weeks and have always had great service. Today I'm a little annoyed with Amanda the General Manager. I walked over to the waiting area to get my to go order. I placed my mobile phone on the edge of the counter on the far right corner. She advised me that I can't allow you to place that there only food can go there. I asked "my phone". She says yes. Mind you she is checking bags and handing people their order. I'm just standing there. She does not ask to help or if I'm waiting and I happened to look at the bag that had been sitting there and it my order with my name on it. I leave and go to work. I get to work and my bagel is burnt. This is when I get annoyed. You the GM is standing there checking food. You did not think to tell someone to toast a new bagel. You did not offer to see if I need anything. Now I have to come back which is an inconvenience to me. I expected more for Amanda who I was told was the general manager. I stopped here for breakfast when I am in the area (vs. Starbuck). The seating areas (both inside and outside) are great for relaxation as well as conducting business. I like the pastries and the stores but hate their royalty program... which I have 2 accounts (not by choice) and neither one worked nor captured any of my transactions since inception. read more

Place was very dirty. Dining room was cold. Asked for them to turn on the fireplace and was told it's been broken for a year. Ordered at table for food to be delivered to table. It was not. It was sitting in bag on the counter. Sweet drink all over the floor in front of the soda station. Trash overflowing out of cans. Tables dirty. Apparently no one was willing to tidy up. We ordered DoorDash which went excellent, the food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the pick two, the Bacon Turkey Bravo and half a chicken Caesar salad. The sandwich was fine, but they gave me half a teaspoon of dressing. The salad was so dry I couldn't eat it. My wife ordered the toasted steak and cheddar sandwich, the meat was globed in a ball in the center so her first bite was all bread. She opened the sandwich to find two very small slices of steak bunched together in a ball. She took it apart and there wasn't enough meat to cover the whole sandwich. For the amount we paid we feel ripped off. It's a moderately healthy fast food restaurant, key words bring "FAST FOOD". I don't have a problem with paying more for better food, but in this case the food wasn't better. I'll stick to going in person and getting the French onion soup in a bread bowl as it seems it's the only thing worth getting from here. read more

No wonder the quick service food industry is likely to become fully automated first, cutting jobs! Zero accountability, zero problem solving skill, zero interest in a job well done, or just done at all. Business analysis and a recent study out of Cornell were my exact horrific experience today at Panera Basking Ridge. Placing an order through the Rapid Pick Up feature in the Panera app is easily done. At 6am the location opens and I placed an order for 6 baked soufflé items, all of which were available according to the app. I was advised the order would be prepared as on the shelf waiting for my pick up in TEN MINUTES. Thinking realistically, that seemed like over promising in my book for anyone. Further this location is frequently under stocked so I allowed TWENTY MINUTES as a more realistic wait. When I arrived at 6.25am I was greeted by an employee. I mentioned I was coming for a Rapid Pick Up order already placed and started over toward the shelves where this should have been waiting. The Panera employe advised it was not ready. She then started to explain the bakers got a late start...I interrupted stating there had not been any message via the app nor had the items been greyed out or noted as unavailable for any reason. She just looked at me blankly as if it were not her issue. I stated the order was even meant to be ready 15 minutes earlier by this point. Nope. She offered a refund, weak at 6.30 am when you are on a timeline and need results not another workflow. I asked for what form of protein was ready at 6.30 am that I could carry out ASAP. She offered breakfast sandwiches, pointing to the menu. She then suggested she would have them prepared. THATS NOT WALK OUT NOW READY. It was a total fail. As I looked around the counter near the registers, the typically stocked items were not filled in. Nothing was actually ready at 6.30 am. Which is 30 min AFTER they open. I assume to open and conduct business at 6am when the location does open, things start to get going at least by 5am! Nope not here. read more

I don't normally review chain restaurants but I frequent this Panera Bread so often I feel a review is warranted. Panera Breads are all great reliable places to get some light fair, decent coffee, and get some work done, but I feel this Panera stands out as above average. The staff has always been friendly and keeps the dining area clean. The coffee is reliably good and doesn't have any of the "bottom of your cup" grinds that I have found at other Paneras in the area. And maybe best of all, the dining area is spacious and comfortable with lots of windows letting in natural light. All in all a great place to have a coffee, get some work done, and maybe even grab a bite to eat. read more

Flies on the food in the display case. Doors and windows always sticky with finger prints. Food quality is subpar. Manager is rude and has no logic in what he allows or not allow. He thinks a cell phone being charged inside his dirty store, while the paying customer eats his lousy food outside, can spread corona virus. If anything, his dirty facilities are more subject to flunk any FDA or CDC review. Poorly managed place. I'd be amazed to see this place still in business by end of year. read more

In the interests of fairness, I moved it up a star-- I stopped by the other night and actually ordered what I guess qualifies as a meal-- an Asian chicken salad (not sure what the actual name of it was) and a blueberry smoothie, and the price was reasonable, and...yes...there are waiters/waitresses at this place who will service you if you order something other than a smoothie. You order a meal, are given a disc (which you put upright on your table) which gives off light when your order is ready, and a waiter/waitress brings your order over to your table. You clean up after yourself when finished, but there's a tip jar up front in which you can leave a tip if so inclined (I was, and did). read more

I have had many of their soups and they are very nice and come with bread to either dip it in or served in. The sandwiches are excellent, again the bread makes it here. French onion soup is amazing - the right amount of bread and cheese make the difference! Seasonal salads with strawberries or other berries for the summer are always great. Frontega chicken panini is my favorite from the sandwiches. I also always take advantage of Pick Two option - half a sandwich and half a salad of soup. I just went and had lunch at Panera, a place that from time to time I enjoyed going to and have been to many times. This Panera in basking Ridge was extremely dirty. When using the women's bathroom the floors were sticky and the feminine product disposal bin was completely full and it was only noon - which leads me to believe that they didn't empty it from yesterday. Also on my way out of Panera, I slipped on some water on the floor and there were no signs around. They made the food OK, there was not a lot of substance in my sandwich. The worst part is when I was eating my chocolate chip cookie I found either like a small rock or black plastic thing in the cookie. I will definitely not be going back to this one again. I was here last week with my family. We always stop in on road trips to my grandma's house. Lynn was our server and she was FANTASTIC. I am writing this review to thank LYNN for putting up with my crazy family. We were being really silly and goofing around and she just went with it. At one point, my mother ordered in a silly voice - and Lynn responded in the same silly voice. They obviously have the same menu as all other Panera locations, which I've found to be good if not overly salty. On the multiple occasions I've been here, the employees were friendly and my order was executed correctly despite a bunch of modifications (dressing on the side, adding/excluding an ingredient, etc). There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors as well. If it's your first time at Panera, I would avoid the soups and stick to either the salads or paninis! read more

Worst Panera ever! My wife and I were looking forward to getting the broccoli cheddar soup... but what a disappointment. The soup was watered down. It was not creamy and not as tasty as usual. Barely had any broccoli. It seems like they were running out of the soup and just watered it down so they could have enough, my wife got enough in her bowl and for some reason mine was much less than hers. As Panera restaurants go, this is a pretty good one. Except during the weekday lunch rush, which is super busy, it's usually pretty quiet. On nice days the tables on the patio are a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal. And on winter days, a table next to their 3-sided fireplace is just as pleasant. The food is the normal selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. Sadly, the sandwiches are pre-made and by the end of the day you can often tell. For that reason, I tend to go for the toasted sandwiches which helps mitigate the problem of soggy bread and limp veggies. They're open until 9, but the teenage workers will often be vacuuming your feet by 8 or 8:30. If you have patience with that sort of passive aggressive behavior it can be a good place for a light late dinner. read more

Panera gets more and more disappointing each time I go. This time I went and order a 1/2 a sandwich for my bc and I along with a cup of soup and a cup of Mac and cheese. First off, it took 20 minutes to make and everyone that ordered after me somehow got theirs first. When we get home and open it up, we were very disappointed. I guess this is what you get for 20 minutes and $25...1 tiny blob of mozzarella and 5 TINY pieces of shredded chicken!!! Beyond annoyed and will not be going back. Panera used to be great but over time their prices went up and the quality of food went WAY down.
