Pops is go to spot for a lot of locals it's a pretty small spot with no real seating inside so everyone just orders to go or in the warmer months you can sit outside . They serve up some great breakfast and lunch options and they are always hustling and bustling there in the mornings . We've been meaning to try Pop's again so we ordered lunch to go (as there are only two seats at a counter in the corner inside). Both the turkey bacon, egg, and cheese and Elise were large portions and ready quickly. The balsamic mayo on the Elise didn't add anything and the only real flavor was from the good roasted peppers. Pleasantly surprised by this hole in the wall family owned deli. The true jersey way for a sandwich is sliced fresh and piled high and boy did pops do it right. They took over a previous bbq spot but kept the esthetics modern and clean. Plenty of seating if you come in for lunch and parking conveniently in the back. Service was great, the cashier was patient and knew all the customers usual orders. For food I grabbed a Steve wrap: chicken cutlet, bacon American cheese lettuce tomato. Tried the Paulie JR on a roll and it was really good! Fresh and all of the ingredients go together well. It wasn't overwhelming either, like when some sandwiches have too much going on. The food came out quickly as well. I tried sitting outside at the tables since it was a nice day but I was intimidated by some wasps that wanted a piece of my sandwich. Pops was decent, but we felt there are better sandwich shops in the area. Food: the Juliana is just a chicken parm. The cutlet was sliced thin and crispy, but lacked seasoning. Bread was nice and soft. The Elise was also a bit bland. The chicken needed more seasoning the balsamic didn't really help. The wrap was also very wet and dripping out of the bottom. We were very disappointed in the amount of fries that we received for $5. It was a very small portion. Ambiance: the restaurant is very spacious with a lot of seating. I couldn't believe I found Brooklyn in NJ!!! Traditional old school deli from like the days I grew up in Brooklyn. The place was super clean and friendly service. Met the owner Steven who told me his story of how he built the place. Mentioned he was leaving to go play the Family Feud soon. It was my first time so he recommend their cheese steak and it was a home run!! A rainy Saturday morning on mothers day when all brunch places were overbooked, this place still looked empty with apprehension we entered to order a few items from pancakes to full platter breakfast with breakfast sandwiches, blueberry pancakes, Nutella French toast. Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak from Pop's website on 8/25/25 and went to pick it up - it was ready and waiting :-) I've been to Pop's a few times and the food is always exceptional. This time I wanted to see if the man from Brooklyn (Steven, the owner) could whip up a Cheesesteak that could rival the top Philly steak shops. I've been to them all many times and I will say this - Steven not only met my expectations but exceeded them! He adds the cheese into the steak and mixes it in while on the grill. None of the Philly shops do this and it makes Pop's not only unique but, in my opinion, high quality steak, bread and done just right. Pop's is right there among the best! This is a very good Somerville downtown sandwich shop. We always get our lunch favorites - the turkey club and the pastrami rueben, both of which come with delicious french fries. There is easy parking outside to pick up the sandwiches. In the warmer weather, you could eat outside on their picnic benches. They make a good, solid sandwich. read more

Cute little family deli in Somerville, great addition. I pulled up around 10 AM to the interesting striped shop and there was happy music playing and we were greeted at the door before being pointed to the order counter. Service very friendly, I got family run vibes from the staff. I got a simple egg and cheese on a roll for 5$s. The rolls were amazing, fluffy, fresh and shaped like a flower. I've been hearing a lot of good things about this spot through word of mouth so I finally decided to try it on a walk home from downtown Somerville and I was not disappointed! Called to order when I was a few minutes away, got a regular stack of pancakes with a side of bacon, the meat lover's omelette and the Paulie Jr. hero sandwich. It was ready when I walked in about 15 mins later despite being told it would be 20 minutes (awesome!). I had a 20 minute walk home and was admittedly nervous because of the plastic bag ban, but it was all packed in a brown paper bag! Apple Pay with my phone and just a few short minutes after walking in and $40 later I was out the door. After the 20 minute walk home, the food was still warm and I was ready to dig in! The sandwich was fantastic! It definitely lived up to the hype, the saltiness of the prosciutto was evened out by the sweetness of the balsamic glaze and the cutlet was cooked perfectly. I recommend this sandwich to anyone who eats sandwiches, you won't be disappointed. The other food was good too, the only thing that could've been changed about it was the peppers in the home fries were still raw, which my wife said were good but flavor of the fries would've been enhanced with a little more of a cook on the peppers. Overall 5 stars, recommend for anyone looking for a solid meal. Price wise, this is in line with other restaurants in the area with high quality ingredients and about the same portions. read more

I visited Pops Place after rave reviews from a friend. I am glad I did. The staff and service was excellent. I was greeted by Steve who was very friendly and even offered to provide gluten-free sandwiches if I gave him prior notice. The gluten free community will be happy to hear that. We ordered three sandwiches and they were all delicious. The portions were large and the sandwiches were full of flavor. We had the Steven on a ciabatta roll (chicken cutlet, bacon, American cheese), the Liza also on a ciabatta roll (breaded fried eggplant, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic), and the Eugenia Josephina as a hero (your traditional Italian cold cut sub). We will definitely return to Pops and look forward to trying new sandwiches off their menu. read more

Was really excited to try Pops Place as I drive by it often and have seen quite a bit of hype over it on some local Facebook groups. I have to say though, I didn't think it was worth the hype or the price. I had a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and my husband had a taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich. Was it a decent breakfast sandwich? Yes. Was it worth $29 for two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees? Definitely not. Sandwich was a bit heavy on the egg for my liking and the taylor ham in my husband's sandwich was sliced so thin that it it was overpowered by everything else. I prefer a bagel with a crunchier outside and soft inside, but this one was just super soft all around. They are such a fun family run company.. reminds me of a family holiday in my own mothers kitchen haha The food itself is really good. I ordered again this week and was not disappointed. The soup I wanted was not available so they called to ask if they could replace it with something else which was not a problem.
