When I want a tasty sub, I used to go to one shop only (strong hint given), but Mr. Subs has easily moved to the top of the list. I usually order a cold turkey with the works without the onions and salt. The sweet peppers truly add flavor without being overpowering, and the bread is always fresh and soft. A turkey sandwich is about $10. I had a slight problem with my order last time I was there, but the manager was ready to correct the issue. I look forward to my next visit, because they really work hard to make sure the customer is satisfied. read more

I was invited to try these great subs. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted. The place was pretty spacious. I ordered several hoagies, including the Indian chicken cheesesteak, the tuna, turkey and provolone, fish, and chicken cheesesteak. All the subs looked so good. My absolute favorite was the Indian chicken cheesesteak. It had the right amount of heat that I loved. All the subs were great, and I had a really good experience! read more

Great cheesesteak, both steak and chicken are the best around. Delivery has always been quick and efficient.

From a vegetarian's point of view a sandwich shop should be able to accomodate more vegetarian options. It was decent option for a lunch. On a cold wintery day their eggplant parm sandwich was yummy but a little dry, could've use more sauce. I heard good things about their basic veggie sandwich, looking forward to trying that at one point. Hoping their menu expands a little more for vegetarians. Otherwise the location is convenient - plentiful parking, good drink selection and a clean storefront to eat there. read more

I ordered a cheese steak from here on 2/20. The place is very clean and Gladys was very welcoming and helpful. I only gave it a 3 Star because the steak was very salty. I'm not sure if it was by error or always like that as a friend told me their chicken cutlet sandwich was very salty from prior. I may give them one more try again. read more

I went to Mr Subs with a coworker for lunch because we were in the area and I saw the great reviews on yelp? I was certainly not disappointed when having lunch here! The sandwiches were delicious and tasty! We both ordered off the special menu. I got a chicken cutlet sandwich with honey mustard, provolone, lettuce and tomato on a roll. My coworker got a grilled chicken wrap with balsamic, roasted red peppers and lettuce. We both thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches and both agreed that we would definitely be back for more, next time we are in the area! The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that they do not have mozzarella. I asked to substitute my provolone on my sandwich for mozzarella and they told me that they do not carry mozzarella in their store. This was the one thing I thought was odd and disappointed me a bit. Tried the tuna sub - the bread was really good . The tuna was a good quality. There were nice shredded lettuce on the sandwich. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was a skimpy tomato slice. The fries were good, especially since we took them out. They were nice and crispy. read more

Well I tried this Mr Subs this week and the sandwich was really SO good. Speaking of subs generally: The roll can make or break the sandwich and in this instance the bread was worth bragging about. I opted for a basic turkey sub w provolone and everything on it, the Mr Subs everything is salt, pepper, oregano, onion, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar - and that is everything that I needed to make this sandwich perfect. My wife and I tried this place based on the large sign in the window which advertised "Buy One, Get One". This is the Bound Brook location. Well, after asking about the "deal", we were informed that it should say, "Buy One, Get a HALF of One for Free". Is this false advertising? I hate to say it, but I think it is. I walked-in planning on buying a whole sub and getting another whole sub for free. That didn't happen. And, I am sure we are not the only people who tried this place based on that large sign in the window. Now, I am someone who appreciates a well-made sub (I.e., plenty of meat and cheese, etc.). Well, I ordered the #5 Super Sub (peppered, pressed, & boiled ham, capicola, salami, and cheese). My wife paid close attention to the staff member making my sub. He only laid down a single layer of each type of meat. He did the same with the cheese. As you can see from the photo, this isn't quite a "super sub". Hardly. It tasted OK, but it wasn't exactly filling. I usually "load-up" my subs with peppers, pickles, black olives, etc., but Mr. Subs charges extra for each of those items. Forget that. My wife's tuna half-sub was just as skimpy. It did taste OK, but I'll be honest, I've been to several other sub shops in the area, and you get quite a bit more for your money at those places. As far as the service is concerned, the staff was friendly enough, not overly so. As far as ambience is concerned, the place, in my opinion, was too dimly lit. Maybe that's the case in all of their stores, and that's the look they're going for, but it doesn't work for me. So, when all is said and done, I am glad we tried this place, but I really can't think of a good reason to return. Hey, that's just me. For those of you who like the place, more power to you. The subs here are fresh and delicious. We often stop by here after my daughter's swim class and it's the perfect quick lunch especially with kids in tow. My daughter and I will share a ham and cheese sub and Peej will usually get the roast beef sub. The cold cuts are sliced nice and thin and you can get as many fixins as you want on it. The service is quick. The place is clean and with plenty of seating. They also have a whole hot food menu with fat sandwiches, fries, hot subs, etc... that we're looking to try at some point. Came in for lunch for the first time and was really surprised, this place is awesome! Was expecting just a sub but ended up with an outstanding hot sandwich, The Angry Bird, suggested by the staff. Was hot/spicy, but tasty hot spicy. Bread was perfect, and they carry Boar's Head which always legitimizes a sandwich place. Big plus was they have one of the new Coke machines where you can make your own mix, I love those. It was clean inside and seemed like a sandwich shop that would be in the city. Decided to check the out Mr. Subs for lunch with some coworkers in search of a new sandwich shop that not only had good food but also provided a nice atmosphere to sit down and eat. Needless to say we were delighted to have found exactly what we were looking for. A nice clean, open, modern space with a friendly staff. I ordered the turkey club with avocado off of their cold specialty sandwich menu (turkey clubs are my usual go to). Found out about this place randomly driving with someone picking up his family from here. Seriously the best consistent pork roll egg and cheese sandwich I've had in nj and I've had some great ones. Mr. Subs opened up down the street from my apartment about a month ago. Now typically I am especially picky about my subs. The bread has to be perfect, the meat so fresh, and the quality top notch. Therefore, I was hesitant to visit Mr. Subs as I thought I would not be impressed. I decided today was the day. I could not resist a sub shop within walking distance. The shop is clean and modern. Big for a sub shop so space will never be an issue. The guy at the counter was new for this location so it took him a while to get our order in due to the learning curve. This was not an issue as nobody was in line when we arrived, but I can imagine it may be if there was a bigger line. The owner is entertaining and lively. Seems family ran. I was happy that they let the person I was with customize his order. Customization is always key to a good sub shop in my opinion. I ordered the Fat Buffalo on whole wheat. He also got the Fat Buffalo but with mozzarella sticks instead of poppers and ranch dressing instead of blue cheese. We were both very satisfied with our orders. The sandwiches were flavorful, filling, yet not greasy at all. I look forward to my next visit.
