We my husband 30 yrs and i 20yrs have been ordering from here for that long and the food is always great. We are disabled and i am hearing impaired We use the online order on the website. We need delivery. We live about a 1 a mile or 2 from this business. However our last two experiences have been horrible. The website did not work correctly and our pizza has been delivered to another house and had to call to get it right and stand outside in pain while delivered. Twice The person on the phone did not understand me or where to go which was 2 minutes away. I called the restaurant to explain. Yes was upset told him same as i am writing here . Had a really great experience here. As someone from the Midwest, I always enjoy east coast style food and I love frequenting Italian village when I'm in the area. The menu is great, there are tons of options for pizza, sandwiches, etc. I had the Italian sub today which was extremely fresh and a great size. My SO had the pastrami sub, very generous portions of pastrami and was very flavorful. Couldn't leave without taking a couple slices of pizza as well, whoch always hit the spot. The main thing is the customer service. Was served by Leo, a manager, and he was extremely kind and friendly. Made us feel very welcomed and he is just a complete professional. We have been eating here for over 9+ years and since the old owners left it has not been the same. We still try to give them chance after chance but this time I'm super disappointed. We ordered four dinner pastas and they all were not great. The penne vodka was red sauce and super watery to the point where it was falling off the noodles. The garlic bread had no garlic and they gave one loaf and two triangle hard pieces of bread. I did call to complain to get a refund and return the food. The lady who answered just said to bring the food back.. did not seem to ask why we weren't satisfied or what she can do to help better the situation. I'm constantly ordering from Pizza places in the surrounding towns and this night was no different; the thing that separated this Saturday night from the others was that I actually liked my pizza. Admittedly, I'm partial to the pizza I grew up on in Brooklyn, NY and I havent tried it here - but the dishes I have tried are always fresh and delicious. My favourite is the grilled chicken salad with "everything." Toppings include tomatoes, roasted peppers, jalapenos, etc and I order it topped with ranch dressing as well. I've also had eggplant parm sandwiches from there, which are delicious. Customer service is courteous and timely although I've always ordered in person or by phone to pick up. The restuarant is well staffed. Nice ambience to have a meal with a friend, etc and they serve food on real dishes, which I think is a really nice touch. Prices are reasonable. Free parking is convenient and plentiful. I've been eating here periodically for ten years, and I plan to continue! read more

We hadn't had pizza in months, so, during a desperate moment, I ordered one and a side of meatballs in sauce ($4.50 for 3) for dinner during the covid-19 crisis. This is always a very busy neighborhood spot. It was mobbed, so they had a guy in a yellow safety vest directing foot traffic into the place. I honestly don't know what the appeal of the pizza is here, other than it's cheap. A large plain pie is still only $11. Unfortunately, the crust is like cardboard, with no rise or air pockets, and the cheese is low quality. I asked for thin crust pie, but the whole thing was so leaden, I barely got through two slices. Definitely the last time I get pizza here. I threw out the leftovers. They do make a gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza, but that's not something I would eat by choice. Houdini's, just up the street, isn't what it used to be, but is still a better bet for pizza. On the other hand, the meatballs were delicious, and the marinara was just right. I've never gotten al forno entrées from here, but I would consider it now. I still think the cheesesteaks are OK, too. read more

I stopped in Italian Village today for lunch. I met the new co-owner Leo who is very personable. I ordered the Salad with grilled chicken and roasted red peppers. In my opinion it was even better than I remember from about 2018 (the last time I was there as I don't live local to it anymore). While I was waiting, Leo offered me a slice of pizza and I chose a slice of cheesesteak pizza. The pizza, especially the crust, was delicious. I think it was pan pizza. What I love about this place is that it is known for pizza but it is much more than that! There are so many great dinner or lunch options if you just aren't feeling pizza: lasagna, sandwiches, chicken parm, etc. The best part is that they don't just have more options, they also make them quite well. My dad and I got the lasagna, chicken parmesan, and side salads. I like a lot of sauce and both meals were doused in tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. The portions are massive so be prepared to have leftovers. I actually made 3 meals off of the lasagna alone! Crazy! My dad also made two meals off of the chicken parm and really liked it. My only complaint is that the salads were kind of soggy with wilted lettuce leaves. I still ate it and it was decent but not great. We got the food to go but sat inside waiting for it to be ready. It definitely has a classic pizza and sandwich place feel. The place was packed and some sports team had come in and taken up most of the tables. I have been coming to this restaurant for years. It was amazing at its peak. Today I stopped in at lunch time and it looked like the place was about to close down. It was dark. The drink coolers were empty and the case had only 2 sad looking pizzas and nothing else. There were signs all over the windows for different special deals for everything but pizza. Last night before they closed, I ordered a buffalo chicken cheesesteak sub. I got lettuce and tomato on mine, and I didn't even need a drink because of how good it was! The Hot sauce & ranch didn't overpower anything, and it wasn't too packed when I opened the sub from the foil.
