If only all Panda Expresses were this good! I'll credit this review mainly to their tea bar drinks. Got the sparkling pineapple strawerry yogurt. I like how they made it into a bubbly soda drink hence the "sparkling." Didn't detect the pineapple very much in there, the strawberry definitely overpowers, but still sweet and refreshing. It's nice they have non-dairy offerings, almond & soy! The panda milk teas are pretty good, and boba is legit chewy/ sweet. Practically perfect imo. Food offerings are the usual with the exception of burrito style wraps and quinoa brown rice! You can choose what you want in the wrap. All tasty! I liked the type of wrap they used, reminds me of what is used for beef rolls. The scallion ginger sauce is good! Free parking lot right behind them. This Panda Express is clean and the food looks fresh. I ordered the mushroom chicken and broccoli beef meal with the quinoa rice. The rice was a little bland but the food otherwise was good. I always order a chicken egg roll. Usually they have great flavor. This time something was missing... maybe just a little salt??? Overall quality food for the same price as McDonalds but so much better. I'd give them a try. read more

My husband and I both ordered their orange chicken. Except he ordered the plant-based one. Not only was his portion smaller than mine, Panda also charges extra for this plant-based item. Kinda disappointed on the amount of portioning today. Ordered a bowl and Maria was quite nice and helped me out so shout out to her!! Another employee added my broccoli beef . The broccoli beef was running low to begin with but I asked for it anyways. Figured I was gna get the last of it but nope.. This review was decided after consistently experiencing bad operations, waiting periods, excuses, BS, and staff attitudes. Today I went to pick up 2 orders at around 2:40pm and the order went okay/friendly with the female service staff. Since they ran out of veggies, she told me that it would take 3minutes to make. This was fine, I had paid for the food but ended up waiting 7minutes. She had immediately told the kitchen cooks (3 males / 1 was a manager) to add more veggies but for some reason none of them came to work on it until 6min later. 1 minute before that (5min waited), 1 cook made chicken and string beans and she packaged that order first. I didn't see anyone ordering that before me so it could've been an online order. During my wait, another manager and staff was talking in the kitchen and none of them were cooking the veggies while the other guy was cooking the chicken/string beans. The same cook finally made the veggies after that. Right before the veggies arrived at 7min, I asked if she could redo and give me new plates bc my food has been sitting there waiting for the veggies and it wasn't as warm anymore. She instead offered to put them in the warmer, and this is not okay/ sanitary to me as she was going to put in a paper container and plastic container (to-go plate + orange chicken bowl) in there. But since it was just in time that the veggies came out, it ended up not going in the warmer. I then asked her if there was a reason why those other guys in the kitchen didn't need to cook. She said "he's teaching him how to cook." One of them was a manager and the other did look like a new staff member. However, her response was COMPLETE BS. As a restaurant operations consultant/ owner myself and any other restauranteur would agree - that if you have customers waiting for a less than desirable time, that customer priority comes first even if you are training, especially while talking about non-urgent matters.. If he was truly teaching him how to cook, then he should stop in the middle of whatever he was talking about to cook the veggies (which only takes 3minutes) and show him how. She BSed. The conversation the guys were having was not urgent, because when 2 other customers arrived after me and wanted to wait for veggies to arrive before they order, the same manager that was talking came out to ask if they can help those 2 new customers with their order (they can see the customers arrive as the BOH kitchen and FOH was divided with glass windows. The customers told him they're waiting for veggies. He then went back to his CONVERSATION and didn't bother to help cook, maybe because that 1 other cook was already cooking. Basically, there were 3 guys in the kitchen including the manager and only 1 person cooked 5mins after my request. Here's the photo of them in the kitchen. There's laziness in leadership and staff & lack of expectations among staff. Every staff is there to back each other up only, not the business nor the customers. Was shopping in the area and wanted to check this panda out since it was a "tea bar" too. I was very impressed with the decor and cleanliness. More like a panda inn rather than express. A lot of higher end and healthier options. Along with the traditional choice of fried rice or chow main they also had veggies, quinoa and even a glazed Brussels and carrots mix (which was delicious). Although they dont carry my favorite sweetfire chicken, or crab rangoon, they still had a lot of choices. Another fun option they had along with the traditional players and bowl was a salad or a wrap. Yes- you can get your entrees on a salad or wrap. The tea bar has a variety of teas, milk teas, lemonades and boba with a bunch of fresh fruit toppings. Pro tip- if you check in before you order- you get 60% off any tea bar drink! Use to enjoy eating here but in the last few months the service continues to get worse. When I come in not generally no one greets you and sometimes I'll sit at the counter for 3-4 minutes before anyone acknowledges me. Almost every time I come in one or two items are not available and I have to alter my order or wait 5-10 minutes for my food. Despite of tight parking and hardship to find a place to park vehicles, the service and the quality of serving was not the way I experienced in other Panda Express. Broccoli Beef as you can see in the image was basically Broccoli with few pieces of Beef. I asked the servant and she was very firm serving. She was about to cry when I asked her to be generous on Beef. I could stay for the next pan if they were short on beef, but the attitude wasn't too good. I don't know what I was hyping myself up for because it's just Panda Express! Don't go out of your way to come to this location, it's nothing too special. I came here because it offers the Bing (burrito). First, there was no line when I was there but the staff working at the time of my visit was very short with me even after I told them it was my first time at this location. The tea bar, burrito, healthy side options (quinoa rice), and toppings (chili sambal, scallion ginger sauce, and pickled cucumbers) are what's different between this place and an ordinary Panda Express. The burrito was less than satisfying so I'd recommend just getting a regular plate. I also ordered a milk tea and it was probably one of the worst milk teas I've ever had. I've been told that the fruity drinks here are good so if I ever stop by again I'm willing to try a different one. read more

Hardly any chicken on my bowl, and I was denied a student discount from pcc (which is a half mile away) because the said they only honor Caltech, which I have clearly gotten at this location before as a current PCC student. I feel like this review doesn't *really* count because I didn't get the orange chicken burrito aka the bing. I was more intrigued by the tea bar. I got the strawberry fruit tea which was good, but tasted more like green tea with syrupy strawberry bits. My cousin got the milk tea which was okay, tasted super sweet as well. The available entrees here are similar to other Pandas but they had some fancy ones like tofu quinoa. I always go with honey walnut & shrimp which is a premium entree so extra $1.50 (but so worth it), and orange chicken. The orange chicken here sucked because it was all batter and no chicken! The chicken green bean is also solid and so is broccoli beef. One thing I do like about this place is that the two times I've been here, I was able to use a different Yelp check-in offer at the tea bar. They also have a private parking lot in the back for Panda guests and the dining area is clean & modern. Definitely not like the mall tables I'm used to. read more

Someone came double triple checked my order, I showed her my email confirmation - this Lake Location; place on its own website; order was confirmed and fully paid for. Then more than 10 minutes later, finally I was give my order. It was 12:23. No apologies from the staff there. I intended to deliver it to my kid's school and 12:23 would be too late. Great service and one of few locations with experimental menu items! I work across the street from this location so I have the opportunity to come here about once a week. I usually go during lunch on weekdays and even when the line looks long, it goes by super quick. Thus, I don't usually order online but that's a great option to skip the line! I usually get half quinoa and half chow mein as my sides. They have other options like fried rice and veggies as well. As for my entrees, I ALWAYS get the orange chicken because...well it's Panda Express and it's orange chicken. Enough said. As for the second entree item, I like the chicken teriyaki, walnut shrimp, Beijing beef and recently they came out with a limited time Sichuan Chicken and it was AMAZING. Excellent flavor, no grease and no sauce (it's a dry rub chicken tender basically). As for other items, this location offers a few milk tea drinks that are right on par with other boba shops. They even have a "bing" option to replace the traditional plate, which is essentially a panda burrito. Overall, it's probably the best Panda Express location to exist and it offers unique menu items. 10/10! read more

I like how you can still order your combination plates, but also make orange chicken burritos and things of that nature. Also, the vegetables have kale in them! Some of the items are prepared differently from the panda express I have known. Service: The service is accommodating and friendly. They ask if you'd like the try samples before you start. I like trying the different options, but always just end up ordering the orange chicken because the orange chicken at panda is better than the orange chicken and Top Island in Monterey Park. Ambiance: Panda Express is clean and has plenty of lighting. There are many tables and some bar stools on the high elevated tables that give it a nice dimension to the restaurant. The staff does a great job at keeping the restaurant and the tables clean. Also, there is a "panda history" timeline on the wall that is fun to read. :) Overall, I would recommend this Panda express location. You can get all of the classic dishes (I got a plate with chowmein, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken) or try some of their newer healthy options such as quinoa brown fried rice, salad mix, etc. Aside from the traditional plates, you can get a "bing" (burrito) and fill it with your choice of 1 side + 1 or 2 entrees. Didn't see anyone get it, but the picture of the orange chicken bing looked intriguing and like something I'd try the next time I come. In addition to the healthy options, there's a tea bar that serves milk, Thai tea, various lemonades, and other drinks. They have some premade cups right before the cashier that you can grab and go or you can order a fresh one from the register. I had a milk tea and was pleasantly surprised. HUNG UP IN MY FACE 3 TIMES without even hearing what I was calling for! What a psycho, disgusting branch! I placed an online order including egg rolls and crab rangoons specifically adding a note asking them to include sweet and sour sauce which they SHOULD do already. When I received the order, there was no sauces whatsoever. I tried calling the branch just to leave the feedback that they should automatically include sauce when these items are ordered. No big deal, just a little customer feedback to help improve their service. Well instead of hearing what I had to say, the person that answered put the phone down and then about one minute after I was hung up on abruptly. I called back again and the phone was picked up but no one said anything. I waited 5 seconds and when I said hello, I was hung up on again. The 3rd time I was hung up on as soon as they picked up. What an unprofessional and cowardly way to deal with customers. They literally didn't even know what o was calling for and just kept hanging up on me! After we opened up all the boxes at home, we got 3 boxes of the chow mein, 1 box of mushroom chicken and 1 box of Teriyaki chicken without any sauce. They are always so friendly, fast and attentive! Also their food is always fresh! They always have Rangoons ready for me, if you haven't try them.. I suggest you do! I was excited to try the burrito and boba. However, I was disappointed to find out that they don't have it here.

Yelp shows this location as a drive-thru which it's not. Wanted to try anyway because it also serves boba, and that was already a win for me. It was towards closing and they had only a few dishes out, but when asked, were happy to prepare an order of their Beijing beef while I waited. Their boba menu is limited to a few teas, fruit teas, and lemonades. I enjoyed a Panda milk tea and the boba was soft and chewy. This location and the Innovation kitchen on East Foothill both offer their entrees as a burrito, which is a unique option. Would come back again and give it a try! read more

I got my order, the manager (I found out later) used her card to swipe the order as free or replacement. I asked the people behind the counter who was the manager, it turned out to be the one who assisted with my order. I told her calmly "if you made a mistake you should say sorry" she was quick to say "it wasn't me who took your order. " she's the manager of the store. She should be responsible for her employees. This is a much better concept for panda express, hope all locations look like this soon. The food still is the same poor quality panda food, just more expensive and now available in burrito. They do have a few new items beside the old Staples, while they sound healthy, they just we're not that fresh. Portions are on the small side and additions add up quickly. FOOD: While they still have the regular fried rice and chow mein, your options for sides also include brussel sprouts (pretty good - needs salt), carrots, or fried quinoa rice (also pretty good - also needs salt). Their entrees are refined to the classics, so you won't find Chicken and Mushroom here, but I've never met anyone who gets sad for having to eat orange chicken. The "bing" option looks like a huge tortilla, so I imagine that could be a good option for someone with a large appetite. Overall, very excited that the tea bar concept is so much closer to home, and I see quick weekend lunch trips in my near future. I'll be back to try the boba! :) read more

Forgive me Mother, for I have sinned. I very much enjoyed my food and boba at Panda Express + Tea Bar. 10/10 would go again. As an Asian person who usually would go to the San Gabriel Valley for Chinese food and Home Brewed Bar for boba, I ain't even mad that I decided to go to Panda on this wholesome day. This Panda is first of its kind to my knowledge and offers a tea menu and healthier food options like quinoa rice. Food: I got the 8 Treasure Chicken with fried rice ($6.60). The 8 Treasure Chicken is a limited menu item for Chinese New Year. It had tons of fresh, crunchy, and colorful pepper strips with the chicken. It also had dried chili peppers and diced sausage all tossed together in a rich and savory sauce. I picked the fried rice as my side and it tasted better than your typical takeout fried rice. The veggies were crunchy and the rice wasn't oily, which I appreciated. My boyfriend got the Bing wrap with quinoa rice, orange chicken, 8 Treasure Chicken, cucumbers, and crunchy noodles ($7.60). The wrap itself tasted reminiscent of a lighter scallion pancake. He had nothing but good things to say about his wrap! His one-word review is "Whoa!" In terms of portion sizes, the wrap is the size of a small child and the rice bowl I got was more than enough for one meal. Drinks: Again, I'm not sure who I am because I loved the creme brulee milk tea with boba. We ordered a large with 50% sugar, which was perfect and not too sweet. I really appreciated that they ACTUALLY cut down the sugar, because boba shops tend to make your drink too sweet regardless of how much sugar you request. The boba was chewy and slightly sweet. The milk tea had actual black tea flavor, and I'm not sure what they added for the creme brulee syrup but I was impressed. It's not the BEST boba I've ever had but it's certainly better than 85C Bakery and the super artificial flavors at Au79 and TPumps. Service: HELLO, as in the entire staff said HELLO to us as we walked in. I've had better service here than at non-fast food/fancier establishments. Everyone was extremely willing to answer any questions and provide food samples. I requested a Panda Milk Tea sample, and one guy went ahead and made a whole drink just so we can try some. Also got an entire Honey Walnut Shrimp to sample, which was bomb. I ended up not getting the Honey Walnut Shrimp because it had an extra cost compared to the chicken, but next time I will!
