Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with a craving for a cool milky taro and boba drink and this place didn't disappoint. There was only one staff making the drinks and one self-ordering kiosk available. There are also plenty of snacks available for purchase which you would have to order from the staff. There are both hot and hot, blended and slush drinks available with boba and various jelly toppings. We ordered the hot taro milk tea latte, taro smoothie, peach mango smoothie, and mango paradise with rainbow jelly and aloe vera jelly and custard pudding. Everything tasted so good and refreshing. Cute boba spot in South Pasadena! You don't find too many of those in South Pas. My daughter was craving egg bubble waffles for dessert and Simplee Boba came up on my Yelp search so I thought we could give them a try. The shop is located near the corner of Mission and Meridian, so you have to deal with the train. It's hard to find parking on Mission so I would recommend parking on Meridian instead. My daughter ordered their egg bubble waffle and was able to add chocolate and caramel topping syrup. Wow this waffle far exceeded our expectations! The associate who made it added a lot of syrup and the waffle was made so well. When I asked my daughter what she thought of it, she gave it a 100 out of 10! I ordered a mango slush with boba which I thought was decent, more on the sweeter side. It seemed pretty busy in the afternoon during the summer. **Rating with a small child** My 5 year old and I like to go around Pasadena and explore boba & dessert places. We always get the taro or strawberry boba, and today we were feeling more strawberry with extra boba! Place is quaint, enough tables, and basic snacks to entice a small child. The staff was very friendly and treated my son with respect (which is very important to me and always something I look for in a business when I'm with my son). We hung out here for a while as we sipped on our boba and watched the trains roll by at the nearby station. The drink was pretty good, and the extra boba made my son really happy. I have loved this place for so long but the last few times I've been here have been unfortunate. It was closed for a little while with a sign up on the door. Now back open, instead of ordering in person they ask you to order using the screen. There is a small convenience fee added (I would like an inconvenience fee subtracted for having to touch a screen so much). Having to type in special notes on a wobbly/finicky screen and not getting a stamp on my loyalty card was disappointing. Wishing this shop the best though! I love the new kiosk they added inside. When they are busy with people you can opt to order with the kiosk which is super helpful and easy to use. They also always have snacks to purchase like chips and candy to pair with your drink. The blueberry banana smoothie was so good. We think this shop is a very good place. I always order Boba milk tea. It has a very elegant taste, and no matter how many times you come, it is delicious. To be honest being in BoBa business is very competitive these days. So compare to all good places this is very low. Inside the shop didn't look very clean and the taste of coffee is Starbucks quality( which is low to me). I wouldn't get anything if I wasn't in rush. My hubby got the almond milk tea with boba. I did not like the 3 drinks we got at all. The flavor of the tea is a bit bitter, and it seems that it's a couple of days old kinda taste. And the milk tea was a bit water down and not as rich. The only good part was the boba, but the only thing is, I wish it was a bit sweeter since it is very bland. Their menu has a plethora of drinks, desserts and snacks. I was looking for a new boba place and found them. I came here on a late Tuesday afternoon after a long day at work. I was perfunctorily greeted by a young small staff. I ordered an avocado smoothie with grass jelly and a egg chocolate waffle with strawberry, mochi, lychee jelly as toppings. Minutes later, my smoothie arrived and egg waffle. My avocado smoothie was light in avocado flavor that you can barely taste it, conversely its texture was very smooth and milky. The egg waffle was delightful and perfect in sweetness. Prices were very reasonable. Free wifi available. Parking is mostly metered but there a public lot nearby. Service was impeccable and their staff was friendly and professional. Overall, I would recommend this modest lil boba tea and dessert shop. I'd come back again. read more

Wow. This place has gone downhill. I use to come here often, but I am just surprised at how bad it's gotten. It's one of the few boba stores in the area. It wasn't too bad, they had really good tiramisu foam and they also sold bubble waffles which I really enjoyed! When I came, service was so so. Not very friendly and it felt like they didn't want to be there. I ordered an acai bowl and a drink! The acai bowls have become less sweet and they're so melted for some reason. It's like a non-sweet smoothie with a bunch of stuff added in it. The bananas are either super ripe to the point of mush or rot or they're so green, not ready to be eaten, and give off this starchy residue on the tongue. The drinks aren't good either. You can tell the boba was old and stale. Terrible consistency. I ordered a matcha milk tea. The drink was very watered down even though I didn't ask for 50% sweet. My cup was wet and sticky too. I think they spilled, but didn't even bother wiping it off my drink. The place is filthier than I remember. It's definitely cramped too. Tables are sticky, my cup was sticky, counters were sticky, the floor's sticky. The restroom wasn't working. The tables never seem to get cleaned either. I don't think it's worth going to at this point. I live in the SGV where there's boba is on every street and there's competition everywhere. I mean I live next to a Sunright, a Nest Tea, and a Yifang! The drinks there never have any issues. Drinks must be consistent and the place needs to be cleaned. Service needs to be good too. The cashier failed to inform us that the machine was indeed broken after 3-5 minutes. This place has really pretty drinks so my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out. Only street parking I ordered the coconut dream, my boyfriend ordered the original milk tea half sweet and we also ordered the bubble waffle mochi with taro icecream. We waited about 20 mins for the bubble waffle and we didn't mind. The three stars was for a couple reasons. First the girl that talked to us was kinda rude and wasn't patient with our questions. Another girl came to take our order she was a lot better. Her service was great and answer my questions. The drinks are not that good everything tasted water down. The milk tea has no strong tea flavor. I get it's cute and pretty how they separate the two colors but the syrup sweetness was all down the cup. We had to mix it but it wasn't evenly mixed well. My coconut dream drink taste so artificial and water down. I did not like the drink at all. The only thing was really good was the bubble waffle dessert! I couldnt take a leak here despite being here for 3+ hours working on some stuff. On September 30, 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1632 into law. This bill requires a place of business that is open to the general public for the sale of goods and that has a toilet facility for its employees to allow any individual who is lawfully on the premises of that place of business to use that toilet facility during normal business hours, even if the place of business does not normally make the employee toilet facility available to the general public. Businesses are subject to a civil penalty for a willful or grossly negligent violation of this requirement. However, businesses may not be sued for a violation as the bill does not create a private right of action. I can't sue but i can leave a review. Plus the disney music is annoying. read more

The only thing about this place is that some of this staff, especially during night time, have some major attitude. From slamming things, to unnecessary comments or walking away while still ordering is a regular thing during night time. I always and only order three drinks every time I come here, nothing too complicated so I don't see why the night staff always give my wife or me so unnecessary attitude. Soooo yummy!! I've been craving bubble waffles for the past week and was finally able to go out and get some! I convinced my sister to drive me after lunch and this bubble waffle hit the spot. I didn't realize this place used Fosselman's ice cream until we stepped inside! Fosselman's ice cream is one of the best in the LA area. The bubble waffle itself was fluffy and crispy (the part not touching the ice cream). I'm glad I chose the chocolate chip one!! I want to try the matcha next time. Definitely recommend this place! I got excited that their boba tea comes with the glass bottle! The rose milk tea is good. I prefer my tea stronger, but it's good enough. I would give it 4.5 star because of the glass bottle. I also ordered matcha waffle with matcha ice cream (we finished by the time we realized we forgot to take a picture lol ) I really like their matcha ice cream! I come here often, and by often I mean about once a week. I would have given 5 stars but... I arrived here about 10 min before closing and when I was about to order, the girl at the counter didn't let me order and quickly told me "we are only making premade drinks". I tried both the Mochi Bubble Waffle and the Matcha Bubble Waffle to compare. I really like the Mochi Bubble Waffle best. The waffle is crispy around the edges and is slightly chewy at the same time. We tried several flavors: lavender milk tea with coconut milk, rose milk tea with almond milk, honeydew slush and a passion fruit slush. Lavender Milk Tea: you can taste the lavender but not the coconut milk, it was good. Rose Milk Tea: the rose flavoring tasted like rose but also it was a little off, could be the mixing with the almond milk. I think this would taste good with regular milk. Passionfruit Slush: very sweet with a very slight tang. Tasty and refreshing. Unfortunately the Honeydew Slush was made into a smoothie instead of slush. It was unexpected and it was ok. They would have preferred slush. We ordered through a delivery service. There were no other customers in the shop. STRIKE 2: I went out the door after the lady yelled at me, in another door and walked up to the counter. I love Simplee Boba. Every time I come here their drinks are also so light and fresh. I believe its because they use agave instead of regular sugar. They also have a nice menu with some variety to choose from. The girlfriend and I came last night and she ordered the creamy thai tea. Usually thai tea is very sweet but from here it is actually really light and the girlfriend approved. I on the other hand decided to switch it up and got the honeydew milk tea. To my surprise it was actually really good as well. Also not too sweet but just the right amount. Again if you guys want a boba drink that is light and refreshing and not too sweet.
