**Rating with a small child** My 5 year old and I like to go around Pasadena and explore boba & dessert places. We always get the taro or strawberry boba, and today we were feeling more strawberry with extra boba! Place is quaint, enough tables, and basic snacks to entice a small child. The staff was very friendly and treated my son with respect (which is very important to me and always something I look for in a business when I'm with my son). We hung out here for a while as we sipped on our boba and watched the trains roll by at the nearby station. The drink was pretty good, and the extra boba made my son really happy. I didn't try their bubble waffle but sounds like something I'll come back for! I also liked how the cafe supports local businesses and lets people advertise their small business on the bulletin board. It's very community-friendly! Thumbs up from us!
I love the new kiosk they added inside. When they are busy with people you can opt to order with the kiosk which is super helpful and easy to use. They also always have snacks to purchase like chips and candy to pair with your drink. The blueberry banana smoothie was so good. I really enjoyed the freshness because it didn't taste like artificial flavoring. The only downside to this place is the higher cost.
To be honest being in BoBa business is very competitive these days. So compare to all good places this is very low. Inside the shop didn't look very clean and the taste of coffee is Starbucks quality( which is low to me). I wouldn't get anything if I wasn't in rush. Service was good though, they were pretty fast with my order.
I was very intrigued by the split cup since there isn't any boba place that does this. I got the split drink of the house milk tea and the strawberry black tea both with boba since it was free. My hubby got the almond milk tea with boba. I did not like the 3 drinks we got at all. The flavor of the tea is a bit bitter, and it seems that it's a couple of days old kinda taste. And the milk tea was a bit water down and not as rich. The only good part was the boba, but the only thing is, I wish it was a bit sweeter since it is very bland. No public restroom, and there are about 3-4 tables inside. Plus, the drinks are a bit overpriced and would get it at a better place instead of the same price or less.
Perfect place for a sweet Boba tea stop! Sweet location even on a rainy day. Cozy location at night. We came by for a tropical boba tea and bubble waffle ice cream snack around 9:30pm on a cold rainy night. Just perfect! Parking was available right in front. Very satisfying drink during snack. Simplee Boba (est 2017) is a small boba tea and dessert shop that want to bring back the natural and organic ingredients of boba drinks. They're one of the stores located along Mission street and Meridian ave in SoPas. Interior decor was modest with very little decor in their massive white wall; seats were limited. Their menu has a plethora of drinks, desserts and snacks. I was looking for a new boba place and found them. I came here on a late Tuesday afternoon after a long day at work. I was perfunctorily greeted by a young small staff. I ordered an avocado smoothie with grass jelly and a egg chocolate waffle with strawberry, mochi, lychee jelly as toppings. Minutes later, my smoothie arrived and egg waffle. My avocado smoothie was light in avocado flavor that you can barely taste it, conversely its texture was very smooth and milky. The egg waffle was delightful and perfect in sweetness. Prices were very reasonable. Free wifi available. Parking is mostly metered but there a public lot nearby. Service was impeccable and their staff was friendly and professional. Overall, I would recommend this modest lil boba tea and dessert shop. I'd come back again.
This review is based off of a delivery from Uber eats. The boba was great overall, the options on them were plentiful. The flavor was on point with just the right amount of boba. They were both solid picks. I had the Tiger Sugar milk tea and the oolong milk tea with tiramisu cream. I'd definitely order from here again and try their other menu items.
Before you hit the road for a long drive, I highly recommend that you get a mango slushy with boba from Simplee Boba. I did that today, and not only did it keep me cool in the 90° temperatures, but it made the ride so much more enjoyable. It tasted wonderful, and I was served very quickly. Can't beat that! I look forward to returning soon.
I came in for the first time like 2 weeks ago with the young girl that I nanny for. What a nice surprise to find this shop! The drinks were delicious and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. It's conveniently located on mission street in south Pasadena. Parking can get a little challenging but there's always parking on the side streets. Now when I'm at work and I'm craving a Thai milk tea with boba I will come here!! Thank you Simplee Boba!!
This place has really pretty drinks so my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out. Only street parking I ordered the coconut dream, my boyfriend ordered the original milk tea half sweet and we also ordered the bubble waffle mochi with taro icecream. We waited about 20 mins for the bubble waffle and we didn't mind. The three stars was for a couple reasons. First the girl that talked to us was kinda rude and wasn't patient with our questions. Another girl came to take our order she was a lot better. Her service was great and answer my questions. The drinks are not that good everything tasted water down. The milk tea has no strong tea flavor. I get it's cute and pretty how they separate the two colors but the syrup sweetness was all down the cup. We had to mix it but it wasn't evenly mixed well. My coconut dream drink taste so artificial and water down. I did not like the drink at all. The only thing was really good was the bubble waffle dessert! The mochi was super chewy I wish it would be more crunchier on the outside. Their taro ice cream was the highlight!! I love the taro icecream super creamy and flavor is strong. Definitely taro icecream is a must here!
I couldnt take a leak here despite being here for 3+ hours working on some stuff. On September 30, 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1632 into law. This bill requires a place of business that is open to the general public for the sale of goods and that has a toilet facility for its employees to allow any individual who is lawfully on the premises of that place of business to use that toilet facility during normal business hours, even if the place of business does not normally make the employee toilet facility available to the general public. Businesses are subject to a civil penalty for a willful or grossly negligent violation of this requirement. However, businesses may not be sued for a violation as the bill does not create a private right of action. I can't sue but i can leave a review. Plus the disney music is annoying.
A sprinkling new tea and dessert shop, Simplee Boba is a recent addition to the South Pasadena that offers more as an easygoing, spot to study or hangout. This exposed-brick store boasts many tables and a few outlets with complimentary wi-fi for easy in simple surrounds and little decor. The menu is stripped down to three sections of tea, coffee, and specialty. I opted for the CREAMY THAI ICED TEA, while my girlfriend stayed with the classic for a SIGNATURE BOBA MILK TEA. I found the sweetness level in the thai tea overwhelming and the tea flavour in the signature milk tea to be lacking. The boba wasn't memorable, and next time I'm leaning on trying the speciality drinks instead. There's plenty of street parking nearby, and the shack is conveniently located next to the Gold Line Metro stop. updating after x50+ orders STILL GOING STRONG. Consistently fresh boba, friendly staff, prices are below what you pay for same quality elsewhere. Doesn't matter if I'm swinging by in the morning or right before closing. Literally orderd this place on a recent random weekday night because I was really craving to finally try some brown sugar boba after watching too many YouTube videos about boba. This review is solely based on the 3 drinks me & the gf ordered since we had it delivered. House Coffee (Vietnamese style coffee) actually had pretty good strength more than I thought it would. I'd still want it more strong (like I usually do). This is described as Vietnamese "style" coffee & I suppose that holds true since it didn't taste like dark roast coffee really. Matcha Milk Tea (50% sweet, w/ almond milk) had a nice pretty strong matcha flavor which contrasted with the light subtle sweetness which is what we ordered. Well executed overall & looked nice which is always a win. The Tiger Milk Tea is the first I ever had of this brown sugar boba style. I know there was the transit time it took for the drink to be delivered but the kid in me was a little letdown the sides of the cup weren't covered in brown sugar syrup as I've commonly seem this drink is. The boba was pretty much perfect for me. It definitely was not hard, not mushy & still had enough chew. It was very sweet (as expected) but luckily had good flavor which made me enjoy the drink even more than I thought I would. I could really taste that brown sugar, little toasty sweetness in my first sip. For some reason only 1 of the 3 drinks was in a Simplee Boba branded cup with the cute bee logo & they gave 3 bobs straws when only one drink had boba. Not the biggest deal here but it is these little details that set places above others. Oh & oddly enough one win here is something I don't usually see at other drink places. They gave very little ice in all 3 drinks resulting in very full cups of actual drink & not just ice. I literally ended up adding some ice in at home. As you may know there's an abundance of boba shops in this area & there seems to always be another one to try. But I wouldn't be opposed to getting drinks here since none of the drinks were really a fail. I'd probably go in person to check the place & service out. read more
First boba shop in South Pasadena! I come by South Pasadena pretty often and always wondered if they would open a boba spot and they finally did! Came by to try their Creamy Thai Tea and enjoyed it! I've been cutting back on a lot of sugar lately and found that this wasn't overly sweet like most other places. I was actually surprised by the amount of seating they had. Got the Oolong milk tea w/ tiramisu cream. I've never had tiramisu cream before, and the person at the register was kind enough to let me try it. Got that with half sugar. Originally ordered it without boba, but they messed up the order and added it. It worked out in the end though because the boba is pretty good lol. Seems like a chill place to hangout with friends. Would definitely come back to try their other drinks and HK waffle next time! read more

I was running errands in South Pasadena when I came across Simplee Boba on Yelp. There's a ton of street parking and also a private garage, so it was very convenient. I ordered the Passion Fever, which is a green tea with passionfruit syrup, boba, and lychee jelly and a mochi bubble waffle. Passion Fever was light and sweetened with agave, a healthier alternative to sugar. Everything came together perfectly and tasted great. The boba was free because I checked in on Yelp. Mochi bubble waffle took a while, because the server accidentally burnt it. I got a 20% of coupon while I waited. The waffle was freshly made, filled with mochi and had great texture. Overall, I definitely want to come back and try the Tropical Bee because I love peach and strawberry bits in my drinks. I also want to sample other flavors of bubble waffles like matcha or chocolate. read more

Simplee Boba is a new boba shop that has opened in the heart of South Pasadena. I came here after lunch and found street parking right in front of the shop. The place has a cozy vibe with its brick walls and modern decor. There are plenty of seats available, so it's a good place to enjoy your drink or catch up on some studying. I decided to play it safe and tried the signature Boba Milk Tea; I thoroughly enjoyed it! The tea and milk was nicely mixed and the overall flavor was tasty. The sweetness was perfect. It's great to see a new boba shop open up, especially in this area. I will definitely be back to try the other drinks and likely the waffles as well, they look so good! The ice cream is good and the service is super friendly at this South Pasadena shop. Tried the Bubble Waffle (waffle + ice cream + toppings) on my first trip to Simplee Boba and would return for more ice cream and less waffle. Simply (or Simplee), a personal preference. In addition to ice cream and waffles, the menu includes a list of specialty drinks (matcha macchiato, sea salt tea latte), coffees and more. I'm a fan. read more
Absolutely love this place! It's perfect for studying and hanging with friends. PARKING: Lots of free 2 hour street parking all around. I have never had trouble finding parking. DRINKS: Their drinks are great! I usually get the matcha milk tea or tropical bee tea with quarter sugar. They can also substitute the creamer with organic almond milk. FOOD: I've gotten their "build your own bubble waffle" (Hong Kong egg waffle), and it was pretty good. Because I prefer crispy waffles, I'm not the biggest fan of adding ice cream on top, as the waffle loses its crunch. I'd personally stick with waffle a la carte. SERVICE/SPACE: I typically see two workers there, and it's an order-and-seat-yourself type of thing. The workers are nice. I also like how the seats are in a separate room from where you order. With bright interior colors, fast wifi, abundance of outlets, spacious and minimalistic room, and huge clock, this is an ideal place to study at. So glad this place exists! It's close to home and convenient to get to. My search for my ideal study spot has ended, because I've found it. read more

Apparently Simplee Boba is the first boba shop to open in South Pasadena, although another one is well on its way to opening in several weeks in the near vicinity. Since boba is definitely a weakness of mine, I asked several of my friends to make the trek out to South Pasadena with me to give this place a try. Simplee Boba is located on Mission Street, right by the Metro. There's plenty of street parking, so that shouldn't be an issue. We happened to get there on a Thursday night when the Farmer's Market was going on, so the streets were blocked off, allowing for pretty easy access to the boba shop. We were all drawn in by the glass bottles, but unfortunately they were no longer giving them out when my friends and I visited. But seeing as we were already there, we all decided to order a drink. The menu selection isn't the most extensive. They have iced teas, specialty drinks, and coffee. They also serve ice cream with the Hong Kong waffles if you're craving something sweet. More than half of the storefront is dedicated to the seating area while the other 1/3 of the shop is the kitchen area/cashier, etc. There's a good amount of tables, perfect if you want to study or catch up with friends. Workers were pretty friendly for the most part. As for the drinks: -Sea salt green tea latte: I thought this was okay. Flavor was pretty on-point, and the drink had a good amount of sweetness to it despite not getting altered. I've had better sea salt lattes though, so I don't think I'd order this again. -Matcha macchiato: Not the biggest fan of matcha, but I liked the taste enough. My friends all thought the flavor was pretty good - there was more milk taste than matcha flavor, but I can see this being a good drink to order if you're craving something sweet. -Tropical Bee tea: Simplee Boba uses agave nectar - natural sweetness, so you don't have to feel too guilty about downing a cup of boba. We watched as they made the large tropical bee tea, and I saw the number of pumps of nectar they added to the drink. But surprisingly, we couldn't really taste the sweetness of all that nectar once the drink was concocted. The green tea with chopped up strawberries and peach bits gave the drink a tartness that all of us really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend ordering this if you want something light and refreshing. This was very reminiscent of Tastea's line of fruit drinks. I ordered this with boba (additional $0.50), and while it wasn't sweetened with sugar or caramel, it was well made: chewy and cooked decently. Drinks are on the pricey side, but I guess you are paying for more quality (and the fact that they are located in South Pasadena). My drink was almost $5 for a medium sized Tropical Bee tea with boba while my friends' large sized drinks were around $5, too. tl;dr - Overall, a pretty decent boba shop in South Pasadena. I would recommend ordering the Tropical Bee tea if you're unsure of what to order. While I liked the drinks enough, with all the boba shops in the SGV, I don't think Simplee Boba is a place I'd make a special trip out to unless I was in the area. read more

Newly opened (3 days ago), Simplee Boba is located in downtown South Pasadena, located diagonally across from the Metro station and right next door to Retreat. After seeing Carmen S's photos from this place and reading from her review that free glass bottles are available with purchase during their soft opening, my husband and I decided to stop by (but there are no outdoor seating, which is rare for us to stop by a tea house that is not dog friendly since we bring our little girl dog with us everywhere). We came in last night around 7:15 pm and the place was pretty empty. After browsing the menu, we ended up getting: Signature Milk Tea (Hot) $4.70 prior to tax- After reading another Yelp member's review on suggesting not to change the sweetness level on the drink since drinks here are sweetened with agave syrup, my husband and I ordered our drinks as is. My husband thought his drink was average but I actually liked his drink and thought it tasted good. I was surprised that there was no after taste, most likely because agave syrup was used instead of whatever usual sweetener other tea houses use. Large Tropical Bee Tea (Hot), $5.15 prior to tax- This drink is typically made iced with green tea, peach syrup, agave syrup and fruit pieces (strawberry and peach). I asked if it was possible to have this drink made hot and an employee (whom I suspect is either the manager or owner) told me he could. I also opted to have this drink made with black tea instead because I dislike green tea. After our drinks were given to us, shortly later, the owner/ manager stopped by to ask me if my drink was okay because he said he has not had the chance to make that drink hot yet. I thought it was pretty good and perfect the way it was. Just like my husband's drink, I liked that there was no after taste. I thought the fruit bits were okay but my husband didn't like it and thought it tasted horribly sour. -------------------------- (Total= $10.79 after tax) This place does not have public bathrooms. But the owner/ manager had offered me to use the employee restroom, which I gladly appreciated. I hope this place will reconsider having a public restroom in the future because caffeinated products (like tea) are considered to be a diuretic, which basically causes people to pee. It would be nice to have a clean public restroom for patrons to use. The free WiFi (unprotected at the time of our visit) was fast and easy to get onto. Before we left, I went over to the counter to request for our free glass bottles because we were not given them after we paid for our drinks and delivered to us. The manager/ owner apologized and said that sometimes they can forget that (no worries, but hopefully you will remember before you leave so that you don't have to come back or miss out on this special). We got a limited edition winter glass bottle (there are other non winter bottles available) and I can't wait to use it in the future. Overall, I did like my drink but I think the prices are a little pricey. With so many tea houses in the San Gabriel Valley, prices here are a little bit higher (by at least $1). I am assuming the higher price is because of the area (South Pasadena) and the use of organic ingredients. But to be honest, South Pasadena is not an area that we frequent and also since this place doesn't have dog friendly seating, we most likely will not be rushing back to come here. But Simplee Boba is unique with their ingredient use and a great addition to the area. read more

After a round of golf with my daughter, we ordered milk tea to recharge. I ordered it on Yelp and picked up our drinks. When we arrived, the drinks are ready. My daughter had the regular milk tea and I had the rose milk tea. The tea tastes very delicious. The boba has a perfect chew. Next time when I'm around In south Pasadena, we'll definitely stop by again. read more

So I ordered an acai bowl and when I was given the bowl it didn't have any blueberries in it. When I asked the girl why it doesn't have blueberries she was dismissive and was like oh we don't put blueberries in it and I was like then why does your menu say on your website and in your store that blueberries come in it she couldn't answer me she just looked like a deer in headlights and was like duh....Frankly if this is the type of service that you give here I'm hesitant to recommend this place I still haven't tried the bowl but if it sucks I won't be changing the review if it's any good I'll update the review to tell you how good it is, but don't advertise that you have blueberries in your bowl and then you give somebody the boel and it doesn't have it come on that's just stupid! read more

I ordered here for the first time last Saturday and I was very pleased with my order. I had one House iced coffee with boba, a split cup with strawberry mango black tea & guava peach green tea with boba, and a bubble waffle with chocolate sauce. Everything was delicious and I'd definitely come back. On a side note, I ordered everything through Uber eats and my order was complete so that's always a plus. Thank you Simplee Boba! read more
