First time stopping by this location. I ordered from the app and picked up inside. Coffee station in the front near the entrance. Drink stations in the back. A few items such as soup and coffee are not available until after 10am. I didn't know this until I saw in the app. Personally the items I wanted are not available in the morning so I won't be ordering early morning again. Plenty of parking spaces. read more

Highlights: Cynthia, Team Lead & the Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup Lowlight: Mikela, Store Manager I want to start with the positive because Cynthia, the Team Lead, deserves recognition. She was professional, composed, and genuinely kind throughout my visit. The Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup was also excellent. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by an interaction I witnessed involving the store manager, Mikela. While picking up my order after a business meeting, I watched a paying customer politely ask why his bill was different from the advertised pricing for the Pick Two Combo. Rather than simply explaining the discrepancy, the manager became unnecessarily rude and dismissive toward him. What really bothered me was that this wasn't someone being difficult or disrespectful. He was simply asking questions about his bill. After receiving my order, I asked Mikela why she had been so rude to the gentleman. Her response was, "He asked way too many questions and we have nine other orders ahead of his." I simply asked her, "How do you think that makes the rest of your customers feel?" No response. Interestingly enough, as I looked around the restaurant, I made eye contact with several other customers. A few smiled at me, and I even received a couple of quiet "thank you's" for speaking up. That told me quite a bit about how the interaction was perceived by everyone else who witnessed it. Being busy should never mean treating people like they're an inconvenience. Every customer deserves basic courtesy and respect, whether they're spending $10 or $100. Customers aren't numbers, and the nine orders behind someone don't make the person standing in front of you any less important. For me, this is what ultimately determines whether I return to a business. Unfortunately, despite the good food and Cynthia's excellent customer service, I won't be returning. Cynthia, thank you for showing what professionalism and genuine customer service should look like. You were the bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. Management should seriously consider how these interactions reflect on the business. This panera bread location ive always had a positive experience with both with the workers and my order accommodation. I do think that you should generally order online for this location. I ordered two soups, a sandwich and a drink for pick up dine in. Everything came out hot and all the food tasted fine. The inside is really nice with plenty of seats and a lot of them have charging ports for studying. The wifi is fairly slow because theres always a lot of people but works fine. Great for studying and a nice warm meal. read more

WOW! -5 stars! I cannot believe the experience I just had here! 8-3-26 I went to the Panera Bread on 3521 E Foothill to get some soup and a 1/2 sandwich for my daughter who was home sick. I wasn't familiar with the menu and asked the cashier exactly what the "You pick two" was. She explained it was a half sandwich and a pick of side items, which she listed, including soup. I said "perfect" and ordered the Chptl Chx Avo and Tomato soup. When she rang me up, suddenly I was being charge about $16, rather than the roughly $9 for a "You pick two". I protested to the cashier, who responded that since it was separate, the items were more. I told she had just literally told me it was included, to which she responded that it wasn't. I complained to her that it was misleading in the extreme, and went ahead and paid the bill and asked for the manager. A woman came and introduced herself as the manager, but had no name tag. We discussed that for a moment, then I asked her name and I think she said it was Rachel (Unsure). I gave her my complaint, to which she said she could do nothing, and when I threatened to report it to Panera corporate, her response was I could do that, and was there anything else I needed. So it ended there, and I got in line to wait for my food. As I waited, I remembered I hadn't been given a receipt and since there was no cashier present, and I wanted to see the charges so I could review them as I waited, I tried getting the attention of the 2 women doing food prep, the supervisor I'd spoken with ignored me, but the other woman, told me I had to wait. When I explained I only wanted my receipt, she said she too, was a supervisor, and could do that, so I went back to waiting. I waited, and I waited, and I waited. Then the cashier returned to the register, so I asked her. She printed it right up and I thanked her and went back to waiting. I had plenty of time to converse with others also, and at some point another customer pointed out the menu explained in a location other than where the price was listed, that the "You pick two" item had a list including soup as a "Pick" item. I quickly took a picture, and asked to see the manager again. I waited, and waited, and waited again. When she appeared, she asked if I'd gotten my food and when the response was negative, she began walking away, saying she'd check on my order. I told her that wasn't why I wanted to talk with her, and that I'd been overcharged and wanted it rectified. She then gave an ultimatum, asking if I wanted a refund, or if I wanted the food. Of course I wanted the food, I'd waited all this time! I just didn't want to be charged unfairly! We went back and forth on this point a bit, then the first woman I'd spoken to asked me to step aside where we could talk. Thinking we could have some sort of a conversation about the matter, I followed her around to one of the registers, where she told me she was going to refund my money. Thinking she meant to not charge me for the food, I proceeded to swipe my charge, but then realized she meant to cancel the order entirely to inconvenience me in retaliation! I stopped the refund, and incredulously she then told me that customers were complaining of MY behavior, and that she was calling security to have me removed! (THIS!, as several customers had approached ME as I was waiting to express shock in the manner the supervisory staff was treating me.) Yes, I railed at this treatment a bit, then decided to leave immediately and challenge the charge with Visa. In my sixty some odd years of food service interaction, I have NEVER experienced this degree of misconduct in any business. Not only is Panera Bread engaging in false advertising, up selling, and some weird kind of customer gas lighting backed by strong-arm tactics, the business has no regard for fairness in business or ethical practice. I had an out-of-state friend in town and we were driving around Pasadena trying to find local Van Halen historic spots when we suddenly got hungry. Though we had been trying lots of local spots along the way, my friend had a craving for something that she recognized so we found this Panera and it hit the spot! She ordered at the counter while I ordered on the iPads! I got the Balsamic Greens with Grains salad and a Diet Pepsi. It was a great blend of fresh flavors and hearty grains to sit in my stomach a while. I always love their baguette on the side because of the chew and because I could use it to soak up the remaining dressing at the bottom of my bowl. The restaurant was larger than any Panera I'd been in before I think. Comfortable, clean and quick so we could hit the road and keep going! Love earning the rewards on my app too! read more

This is an awesome location for Panera, and super popular, it seems. When I pulled up, parking was pretty cramped, and I ended up getting the last spot available. I'd recommend trying not to come at typical hours, if you don't want to street park and walk, or chance it at one of the other local store parking lots. When I came in, the place was buzzing, and there were a ton of people waiting for their orders. I came in right on time for my to-go order, which was a "you pick 2" of both of the new Asiago Bagel stacks. I hadn't tried either before, so I wanted to try something brand new...and I wasn't disappointed about the food at all. The flavor of the beef asiago bagel sandwich was my personal favorite, and it had an awesome kick to it that I loved. The beef itself was tender and tasty, and the asiago bagel had a deep cheesy flavor I really liked. The chicken roma stack was also delicious, though the flavor punches you a little less in the face than the steak. In both cases, though, I was really impressed with the flavor, and I think both are actually pretty balanced. I will be getting them again... My only issue here is that I did end up waiting about 7 or 8 minutes longer than even the longest estimate was for receiving my food. I think the staff was moving pretty quickly, so my guess is that I came in at a really busy time. Next time, I guess I'd wait a little longer and not come at 12:30ish. The parking lot was also a little dangerous as I was leaving. There was a woman who seemed to actually run into the car of one of the workers at the exit of the plaza, and very nearly hit my car as she tried to back away from the worker's car. Stopped by to try there new item, the Salad Stopper. Instead of eating a salad, since it is just a bunch of veggies, you don't feel quite full. Because this item is served with the salad inside an Italian roll, it eats more like a meal. It also comes with a bag of chips, so it was a very filling meal. If you eat here, I recommend that you join the Sip Club. For one fee ($3.99 - $11.99) depending on their current promotions, it's all you can drink for one month. And once you redeem a drink, it will refresh and offer another drink an hour later. So, it's possible for a cold and a hot drink all in one visit. And sometimes you get a free month(s). I'm back again! I love their sourdough and the baguette.... The chicken and wild rice soup is good too. The tables are not cleaned... as usual. I found one table that didn't look too bad. I used some napkins and water to wipe, then used my sanitizing tissue to clean our table. I'm ready for food. Today we ordered double Panera Duets... One order of 1/2 tuna salad sandwich with creamy tomato soup which is one of our lite meal item. We also ordered the 1/2 turkey & cheddar sandwich with chicken wild rice soup because of the soup. We love the lite meal options they offer through the Panera Duets pairings. Too bad they don't allow substitutions... Today, they ran out of their baguette... They have us bags of potato chips in lieu which was nice of them, but I love dipping the baguette into the soup. I will be back for the delicious breads... This place is ideal for those who want to eat and be left alone. I see more folks here for the WiFi than the food. I think that's the allure, order a drink and stay to work. The place gives study hall vibes. It smells like burnt bread at times, like someone left a slice in the toaster too long. You can order food at the counter or kiosk. You bus your own tables, so the tables aren't very clean unless the customers seated before you wiped down the table. I often see the dishes stacked up by the trash/recycling and I wonder how often the dishes are taken back to be washed. I always order the cranberry walnut chicken salad. It's fresh and served on sourdough bread, which is surprisingly soft. It is consistently good. They offer the usual variety of cookies and brownies. I hadn't been to Panera in ages, but recently went twice. I got tomato soup and Mac and cheese during one visit, and then tomato soup in a bread bowl on the second visit. The tomato soup is really good! I like the croutons on the top. Service is quick. I don't like ordering from the ordering devices. So, I really enjoy when someone is at the register. I come here a lot to study. I like the food. I like the layout of the Panera. I generally love the staff. Except for one guy. There's a worker there, who's very loud. He's constantly talking. He talks loudly when he's working. He'll talk loudly to himself while on break. He'll sit next to people studying and yell across the room like they don't exist. read more

Panera has a warm and friendly environment, which I like. The Pasadena location is the perfect place for me to meet up with friends. My husband and I really like the sip club! It's our go-to place for a refreshing drink. I find all the employees to be delightful. Cynthia, Summer & Chris have a great attitude when I order and could not be sweeter. Bagels that were toasted were unfortunately toasted to an insufficient level, and orders were made incorrectly. I requested they remake it without bacon and the staff was rude. Then the sandwich they remade had 1 slice of chicken per half when the previous sandwich was almost overflowing with chicken. I've always had positive experiences when I've been at this Blaze Pizza. Even when they were busy, someone would always say, "welcome!" My pizza's were always cooked the way I like them, @extra crispy, burnt" and the oven master would ask if they were crispy enough before boxing them up. This has to be the worst Panera bread I have ever visited and I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I've been coming here for several years. I don't think I've walked into this place and had everything I needed in stock. Wasted excessive amount of time waiting for them to get things restocked so that a simple coffee can be filled. On top of that all the good employees that were here have left and transferred out because of how terribly this specific one is run. The most miserable of employees seem to be left and it's just insufferable. I only recommend you just go a little further away to the Monrovia location where the staff is more pleasant and items are in stock. I'm so confused, I thought their whole thing was freshness and a homemade taste. I just had the worst chicken noodle soup ever! It was clearly from a can, unbearably salty, (I love salty foods but this was almost impossible to eat) and like 90% noodles with some very canned-tasting chicken and barely any broth. It's not that hard to make chicken broth from scratch. Why am I paying $10+ for concentrated canned soup? I also couldn't find a free table that was clean, they were not being wiped, even though the place wasn't busy at all. The trash area was also disgusting...dishes full of leftovers just sitting there, no space to put mine. we placed an order through Uber Eats and the order was fulfilled by this location in Pasadena. The food was delivered on time to us and the bag was sealed. Upon opening the bag, many of the items from our order were missing. We had to use the Uber Eats app to report the issue and got some money back, but we would have preferred having the food that we ordered. it baffles me how so many items could have been missed in the same order. it appears whoever handled this order was not paying attention and double checked to ensure everything was accounted for before leaving for the Uber Eats delivery person to pick up. read more

Pretty disappointed with my experience this morning. I placed an order to go, and once it showed, they were packing my order. I stood up and waited for my order to be ready. After a few minutes, a gentleman who worked there asked me what name was on the order, and I told him my name. He then realized somebody else had taken my order and told me they were gonna have to remake it. He apologized and offered me an extra drink, which I declined. While watching him talk to the manager about what had happened. He asked her if he could help remake the order and her facial expressions look like she was being inconvenienced. Once my order was ready, the kind gentleman handed me my order and apologized again, and offered me a free pastry which I again declined because at that point I had already wasted too much time waiting, and I needed to leave. When I finally opened my sandwich it was doused in sauce. Hardly had any chicken and looked like the whole thing had just slapped together. Didn't even eat the sandwich. My chai tea that I also Ordered had a horrible taste to it and it was very watered down. Ended up throwing it out as well. I get things happen and orders get mixed up but I was pretty disappointed in how the manager handled the situation. Didn't acknowledge anything didn't apologize. Didn't say how we can make it right? Love the look of this location. Lots of seating, looks new. Food is the usual. The hush and I get our usuals at Panera. Service was fine. Employees were friendly. My only quip with this location is that they do not have the light roasted blend. I am a member of the 'Sip Club,' I was disappointed I couldn't get my usual coffee that I get at my local Panera. My family and friends like stopping in at panera pasadena to eat in, but the environment inside is becoming concerning and less inviting. I feel bad for the homeless and I noticed a lot more sitting in the indoor seating. As we were eating in side homeless was pulling food from the trash can inside the restaurant and cups and then setting at tables to eat, other were walking around trying to be friendly which was nice, but hard to have a personal meal or visit with a friend and in the bathroom the homeless occupie one or two stalls for quite awhile and after they leave there is a big mess left in and around the toilets and all over the seats and at times unflushed. So if it is unusable for an adult to use it then think about the families with young kids. How are customer suppose to use it and why should the customer have to try to clean the restroom and wipe toilet seats to use it and have to do the same for their children? First: As sad as it is. Maybe there should be something put in place like handing numbers to be placed on the tables to remain there until the customer leave and then removed and clean the table for the next customer and maybe having servers monitoring the table and for table without numbers to ask people politely that don't have an order number to please order to receive one so they can sit at a table. Second: And as for the bathrooms, way back in the early 70s as a working student before leaving the restaurants at last shift would have to go into the bathrooms with a bucket of water with bleach and a brush to wash off everything like: sink, toilets, urinals and areas on the floors and finally to sweep and then the mornings shift was responsible to go into the bathroom to do the wipe down and mop. Oh then the bathrooms were closed in the middle of the business day for a quick wipe down, restock and sweep. Or maybe hire a maintenance for cleaning and monitor the bathrooms. These are just friendly suggestions. Well overall I like eating at panera so I will most likely drop in from time to time for takeout only at least for now. read more

So I get here at 8 am for a quick grab and go, but there's only one cashier and 4 registers. That's fine. Just head over to the self serve kiosk. Just wanted a plain bagel. But it's 8 am and they've run out of bagels. Yes, the entire store has zero bagels. Not a single one. This is not the first time this has happened. Oh, and as always, most of their coffee dispensers are empty. Not a single person around to address this. Only dark roast was available, the least desirable of the options. Again, this is not the first time this has happened. The first to go is usually the decaf. I dont know if it's a staffing issue, but this place needs to be more diligent and aware. Im not sure if I like Panera or not. I go pretty regularly out of convenience and the sip club coffee. It has been inconsistent lately for myself. In the last two weeks I ordered a chicken salad and got no chicken. Today I received arguably the saddest cookie I have ever seen (images attached). The balance is that customer service usually refunds or exchanges when there is an issue. So my vote is that this location is okay. read more

This review is overdue, this is actually my 2nd summer with the Sip Club promotion. That's what got me into the door originally, I love the morning hazelnut coffee with almond milk or an ice tea with a couple pumps of sweeteners in the afternoon. I've only gotten take out orders here. The kiosk pad or the app works great! Panera is always sending me coupons and I've tried bagels, pastries, salads and sandwiches.
