I'm disappointed- high expectations because of new location and menu format. The menu is not significant in change and so the majority of offerings remains. But the actual meal for me is the LEAST I've ever had in ANY Panda location. It was sort of "blah" (even for old favorites orange chicken and chicken and string beans) and the fried rice was missing its usual flavor. Every item was just barely lukewarm. It was edible barely -- and I almost never send it back for a warmover... so I finished it. But I doubt I'll come here again. But La Canada so far remains a favorite location... read more

I'm a bit disappointed with the changes made to this location. As for the bad things, it looks like they eliminated a number of entree items like mushroom chicken and eggplant. Service is now much slower and it looks like their change to have a visible kitchen made it very congested in the back for the cooks. I timed it, and it took me close to 14 minutes in line to get a simple one item rice bowl. As for the good things, they now have pork belly! It's yummy. The teas are really good as well. The pineapple lemonade was especially good. However, you order your drinks when you check out, so you may be waiting, all the while your food will be getting cold if you're doing take out. read more

The food is always fresh and while I do understand that the line can get hectic at lunch due to the offices all around, everyone handles themselves and the flow of customers quite quickly and professionally. i went in today just to get a kids meal on my lunch break, and as i was paying for my meal, the cashier asked me if i wanted to donate the rest of my change to their kids donation thing. she rang the bell but no one thanked me, as they would do their other customers. and then i paid for my meal with two $5 bills. she held them up to light as if i were giving counterfeit money with such short bills. i stuck around to see if she held anyone else's money up to the light and she didn't. i think that says a lot.. :/ read more

I'm disappointed that Panda Express doesn't feel like the Panda Express I grew up eating and loving. This location has been completely remodeled and offers healthier options, which is fine with me, but the entrees they offer are now limited. No mushroom chicken at this location. I had their orange chicken and kung pao chicken and noticed that they were both extremely salty. My husband had the beef and broccoli which we also noticed was very salty. The teriyaki chicken was decent. Also, the check-in offer is a BOGO 50% for milk tea, but they informed my husband and I that it is only an online offer, which doesn't make sense. Just ordered a bunch of meals for all the nurses on night shift.. food gets here (via Uber eats), my order is missing. I call panda, speak with Betty (the manager). She says she completed the order herself and everything was accounted for. I explained that it wasn't, and she insists it wasn't their mistake so it must be the Uber driver. It's 9:30pm. I ask when they close she says 10. I then say okay whatever, I just want to eat at this point so I ask to place an order for pickup so I can go get it myself, she then says ohh we are closed. I said you just said you close at 10. She said no nvm we close at 9:30. Never offered a refund, never offered a solution, simply decided to LIE and say they close at 9:30 instead of dealing with the issue. Normally wouldn't be so upset but I'm a nurse, I work a long 12 hour shift, and BARELY get a 30 min window to eat. So when your lunch break is missed because this BS and at the end you don't even get food out of it, it makes for one long hungry night. For the record, I'm not upset about the mistake, I'm upset about the lack of effort to create a solution. read more

I went to this location recently, ordered my food, then realized I had left my wallet at home! Never happened to me. I was horrified. Pasadena after a while, was 3 pm, only one customer ahead of me, literally no one else, the manager (assuming is the manager due to her black shirt), her name is Emily, she started taking care of me, asked me all I wanted for entrees, sides etc, when I got to at end of the food line, near the cashier, she told me that the order she was preparing was not mine, she wasn't taking care of me, she was taking care of a mobile order, I'm sorry but this is the problem with poorly trained employees in customer service, she could told me, welcome, give a minute, I'm working in a mobile order, please I'll be with you asap, respect, is that too much to ask, I simple walked out, of coarse she doesn't care, but losing one customer at the time it piles up, specially when they are plenty of options around and plenty of business that takes two minutes to train their employees in customer service. Came to this location with my girlfriend to try the burrito, I'm already a fan of panda express so I was excited to try it. Everything tasted fresh and they even had new sauces to try. You can ask for it on the side if you're unsure. I would recommend the green ginger sauce. read more

DON'T ORDER ONLINE...I had my dad pick up an order that I made online and paid for. When he went to pick it up, they gave him someone elses order and had him pay $40 for it. When he brought it home, we realized it wasn't our order, he had to go all the way back. Meanwhile, I called the location and explained to a girl named Oralie what happened, and said my food would now be cold by the time my dad went back to get it. She had an attitude, and said no, they have heat lamps and it will be fine. Then said she overheard my dad and he said it was a call in order and they didnt find it so remade food for him, which wasn't true. The food he picked up was already made. They didn't ask him for the order number. THAT WAS THEIR MISTAKE..With her attitude and all, she sounded very irritated, and she basically said it was His fault. When he went in to exchange it, the cashier was nice, but some girl was glaring at him that worked there, and I assume it was the Oralie girl. When he brought the food home it was cold and super dry. It was disgusting. I wrote the company online. This happened last week...no response from them at all.. We have been going to panda inn and express for years and did love it. Their orange chicken, in its salty fried sugary glazed glory, hits the spot when I have a craving. Quinoa brown rice was decent and not too salty. Their drinks were a good try, but terrible. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from the sparkling pineapple strawberry yogurt drink. Visited this place last night for the first time....less choices, and the service was horrible!! I ordered 2 to go; I wanted to different sides, they had to make more, well, they were so busy, I watched them filling orders, you could go ahead and pay and then wait. I kept watching the workers, they would look at my order and then just move them to the side, FINALLY after about 10-15 minutes I was SO frustrated, there line of people stopped, and I go over and ask what was going on, I'd been waiting almost 15 minutes!! They were saying, "we are waiting on the 2 different sides"!! The cook comes over and didn't know anything about it!! I told them it was ridiculous!! I finally told them to put what was left on our plates!! Due to me having to wait they did give me a complimentary drink, BIG DEAL!! There service is horrible, not nearly enough choices, the do have salads and wraps! There was another customer who had a card that could be stamped and after so many visits he would get something free....well, it was after he paid he forgotten it, so he present it to the cashier, and he then said that he had already rung the order up and had paid he could do anything about it! He then goes over to another work and tells her about it, she takes it and took care of it, I'm like original cashier just didn't want to deal with it! Overall, I thought it was very poor, they were busy, they couldn't handle all the customers at once, and when you as the customer are upset and have to remind them of your order, and then the cook looks at it and reacts like he had no idea what had happened!!!!! Panda has always been a company that amazes me, from their cleanliness, hospitable staff, and great tasting dishes. Being from LA, I have tried many Panda Group Restaurants. I was recommended by multiple peers that this new Panda + Tea has opened on Colorado in Pasadena, so I decided to give it a try. The past Pandas that have I tried were only strictly serving food. They got me with "having great refreshing tea drinks along with food?" Sounds good! Upon arriving at the restaurant, at the front door, i was already greeted with a welcoming staff that were eager to help me with my food order. Even though it was the lunch rush, I was never treated with rush or any less than impeccable service from the smiling staff. The dishes looked freshly cooked, the surrounding areas were always kept clean and wiped down. The drinks are amazing, they have a huge variety of drinks that fit most if not all palettes. My favorite drink so far is the Pomegranate Pineapple Lemonade. Also, some of my friends have gotten other fruit teas and milk teas saying they are no disappointment either. The menu was displayed simple and easy for the customers to know what they are getting and paying for. Also, the prices for food dishes and drinks are not bank breaking, and definitely worth every penny spent. The managers are on point along with staff, they never shy away from seeing how is the food quality and how your experience is going with restaurant. Having a restaurant with managers and staff that don't shy away from tidying tables left messy by the customers shows that the restaurant really cares about the customers having the full great Panda experience to try delicious food and drinks along with welcoming staff.
