First, I have to mention that Pancakes N Things only accepts cash, so be prepared for that. Also, be ready to wait a bit for a table, as they stay busy. But in my experience, it's absolutely worth the wait. The staff is friendly, the seating is comfortable, and the food is amazing. My girlfriend and I ordered the gyro, and my grandmother had the fried flounder fish sandwich with soup. The gyro was great, and my grandmother loved her fried flounder sandwich and soup. Pancakes N Things is an amazing family-owned restaurant and a local favorite. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere has such a great vibe--it feels like everyone knows each other. If you're in the Chesapeake area, I highly recommend checking them out. Their hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 AM - 2:30 PM, and Sunday, 7 AM - 1:30 PM.

I have never had a bad meal here and had to make sure I stopped by before leaving town. Everything is always fresh and flavorful and you cannot beat the value! I'd def recommend coming early on a Sunday or you can do a to go order. The service is always great and Ashley was a pleasure on Sunday! This is great for couples, small groups, and solo dining. The biggest thing to know is they are a cash only establishment.

Cash Only! Just wanted to mention that first, but if you don't there is a teller inside that you're able to use. The decore is plain, but the service is great! It's a local favorite. And the portions they serve are huge. The menu is so vast, which is great. I don't think they left anything out when it comes to breakfast! I ordered one of their seafood speacial "shrimp combo" The shrimps where nice and big not over fried with 2 eggs , hashbrowns and toast. I'm a bacon lover, so had to order my side of bacon. If your not looking for fancy, but want a good big hearty breakfast. This is the place. I do recommend coming early as parking gets full, but there is an over flow parking across the street. I herd the biscuit is delicious, so definitely will be back!

The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! I had the catfish and it was seasoned well and perfectly fried. My only issue with my visit was our waitress. She seemed older so I tried to be understanding, but she did a poor job of taking care of our needs while we were there. From start to finish we had to stop someone else and ask for things. Not good. Other than that, it was a great visit.

Croaker breakfast. Usually 2 large croakers this was 3 nice size.

Pancakes N Things is a consistently good food family-owned restaurant! There's a variety of menu options from classic breakfast to seafood breakfast and so much more. Even the coffee is hot, not strong enough for me, but it's hot, so that's a plus. The service is excellent. It's family-oriented, and everyone is always willing to make you feel welcome. The ambiance is a little outdated, but this is a family-owned establishment that has been around for many, many, many years and will stand the test of time against these commercial restaurants.

My leftover food that I couldn't finish. French toast, bacon, and syrup to go.

This place is still amazing. I used to go here with the dentist that I used to work for for lunch back in 2008 2009. The food is still excellent. The service is outstanding and since I've been here last, they've updated the decor. It is definitely people proof and so much for you to I have to take the leftovers home

Second time here and this time came with a friend whom I gladly recommended this place; and she thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a wait around 15 to 20 minutes, but was worth it. Got coffee (free refills for $2.95) and steak omelet with provolone cheese (charged extra) with grits (or potato hash) and toast (or biscuit). Service was friendly. Just remember to bring cash since they don't accept credit card or check. They have an ATM in an alcove by the entrance. You pay $2 ATM fee but they refund the $2 if your bill is at least $20. Btw always packed and hard to find parking in their lot but you can park in the lot next McDonald's across the street.

This diner is a hidden gem. The decor is simple and fitting. The staff was wonderful. We ordered our food and it was brought to us promptly and hot. Absolutely DELICIOUS! It can get busy so there may be a slight wait but there is a long bench for you to sit on. They also have an ATM- keep in mind, they only accept cash. We both had breakfast and I look forward to going back and trying the lunch.

It happened to be Restaurant Week, which made us a little nervous, but it ended up being totally fine. The dining room never felt overly crowded, the noise level was comfortable, and having the Restaurant Week prix fixe, drink specials, and regular menu all available gave us plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. One small note: the plastic logo cups served with the water decanter felt a little out of place. They were a bit sharp on the lips and didn't quite match the rest of the dining experience. Minor detail, but noticeable. The drinks, however, were excellent. On our server's recommendation, my husband ordered the Gingerbread Old Fashioned and I had the Salted Caramel Martini. Both were seasonal specials and both were fantastic. When we asked about the scotch eggs, our server explained they're normally a brunch-only item. We were a little disappointed (and may have made a few pouty faces while explaining we'd come specifically for them for his birthday), but we quickly let it go, it obviously wasn't her fault. What we didn't realize was that she went back and told the kitchen manager that it was his birthday and that we'd made the trip just for those scotch eggs. Since the kitchen wasn't slammed, they decided to make them anyway and surprised us with an order. We were honestly floored. My husband was thrilled. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. And the scotch eggs were exactly what he'd been hoping for! They were crispy on the outside with a rich, savory center. For entrées, his Nashville Hot Chicken was juicy with the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. My Haystack Burger was stacked and delicious, though the BBQ sauce was strong enough to overshadow the pickled green tomato a bit. The fries were fantastic - crispy, battered, and perfect from first bite to last. Our server checked in at all the right times and kept drinks refilled without us needing to ask. The fact that she went out of her way to do something special during one of the busiest weeks on a restaurant's calendar says a lot about both her and the restaurant. Rustic Spoon is the kind of place that works just as well for a casual date night as it does for a birthday dinner or a night out with friends.

We know Uber Eats customer service sucks and it was no different here. I decided to call the Rustic Spoon and the manager identified the issue immediately. There was a Joshua P who ordered almost the same thing as me Joshua F minus the pancakes. Most places turn you away and tell you to deal with Uber but as a reviewer I also love to review customer service. The manager took ownership of the issue and let me know I could pick up the pancakes. When I get there, he was waiting at the front door for me, had my food hot and ready, and added something a little extra for the mistake. My wife loves this place and I understand why. I trained bank associates on customer service and soft skills and if I could've recorded this interaction, it would've been the best training one could offer. We often overlooked how important excellent service is and how it influences customers. This situation turned me into a supporter of this business going forward. Btw my food was awesome and the Apple Pie pancakes were worth it.

Needless to say the food was so good, pics proved to have zero chance. Sooo after a rough week, a Saturday late morning breakfast was calling for a much needed downtime to sit and enjoy... and well here we go: Some say happiness in a bottle, I say Happiness in a glass! Their iced praline mocha is soooo good! The right balance of mocha and coffee, not overly sweet but enough to give you a pick me up while enjoying their amazing food! Next time must try their lavender latte or pistachio... but gotta get it before 5/31 as it's available for a limited time! Definitely recommend the brekki bowl with cheese grits and fried chicken! You will not be disappointed. Cheese grits like "buhhhttah" without the oily and maybe the calories?! But honestly, so flavorful and creamy without the guilty feeling for having something that tastes so good. The veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked to give you great texture contrast. And let me tell you about their fried chicken!! Chefs kiss! Moist, flavorful lightly breaded chicken fried to perfection that had a slight kick for this girl. In full disclosure black pepper is spicy for me so take that with a grain of salt. And for those of you like me that believe there is never too much salt and add salt to your salt but need to cut that bad habit... this whole dish is the perfect amount of salt. I literally never had to add just a little more. The goat cheese crumbles gave each bite the little extra tah-dah pop that might have been otherwise gotten had you like me added a few more shakes of salt to the dish. Seriously though, if you are watching to slowly cut back on having to add salt to your food, this dish is for you! The service was great and everyone was friendly and hustling! This place is the best for a quick sit down or a group brunch. I saw a table of like 10 menly bros enjoying a huge selection of food, drinks, and catching up. Really awesome to see that as the next few tables were a mix of families with and without kids, in laws, aunts and uncles just coming together for amazing food, great and accurate service, and overall fantastic experience ina random Saturday morning!

I asked for the potatoes to be super crispy, eggs scrambled soft and a medium rare steak. Jennifer advised that I cannot order the steak to the temp of my choosing because, this dish does not come with a whole steak. This dish comes with cut up steak pieces. She requested for them to be cooked light. This dish also doesn't come with eggs. I ordered it on the side. Overall this dish was very pleasing to the eye but my darn potatoes were COLD... I was breaking all the rules and ordered carbs after my intense workout just to be heavily disappointed with cold taters lol... the fish looks amazing but this goes to show you that looks can be deceiving. The eggs were cooked to perfection.. not just anyone can scramble eggs soft. So the kitchen does get a point or two for that. The steak pieces are very small and thin my sliced.. not much flavor but at least they weren't chewy. Overall I did not eat my dish. I just packed up the entire plate and enjoyed two glasses of champagne with grapefruit juice. My guest ordered a dish called the chicken chimichangas or chickichangas. I believe and she devoured it!!! I didn't get a picked but it looked like a chicken omelet with hollandaise on top and some fresh fruit! Overall I am eating this place a 3 only because my service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and had ample parking.. the bathroom was clean and I just happened to be in great company. Side note. They do not sell regular size bottles of champagne. Here. You can order champagne or mimosa and they sell small individual bottles of Barefoot Prosecco I believe.
