Scrambled eggs
Valerie G.

Although it did take awhile for our food, I was surprised on how tasty my breakfast was. I couldn't stop thinking about how I'm gonna come back and order something else. Good service, yet a tad slow- butttt I kinda get it. Probably not expecting more people to come. Nice layout and that bar wall is a masterpiece!

This restaurant is pancake Long Beach in the morning, and Cali Chicken Indian Kitchen for lunch and dinner. The only thing that changes is the menu. I enjoyed a large breakfast that included scrambled eggs, avocado, toast, sausage, and pancake pancakes. There's various options for this meal...I could've had potatoes as a side... my friend got the same thing but she opted for and blueberry pancakes. She also ordered a dish from the lunch menu and she loved it. I cannot think of the name, but it's stuffed with potatoes, seasoned with onions and spices. Everything was very tasty. This is a beautiful restaurant. Friendly staff and reasonably priced options. There's easily access accessible street parking. I went on a Sunday morning and ended up parking around the corner.

Stumbled upon this place by chance. Very nice vibe, great service. Came in for à la carte but they had a st paddies AYCE breakfast buffet special going on. They let us take a peak at the options and they looked great with good AYCE price. Server asked us if we wanted to order the eggs Benedict that was included in the AYCE (just needed to be ordered each time). It was amazing.

What a great find! We were meeting up with some friends and looking for a good breakfast spot near Long Beach. First off, these portions were huge. Everything was platted so nice and the flavors were great. So often I get scrambled eggs and they are wayyyy dry. These were perfect. I did the combo which came with my choice of plain/chocolate chip/blueberry pancakes. I went with blueberry. I also go the cheese egg toast. So not only did my plate come with eggs but it came with a delicious scrambled mix on toast. Yum! My wife had the fluffy omelet, our friends had the breakfast burrito, 2 eggs, and waffle. This spot is "Pancake" in the morning and then is an Indian restaurant for lunch/dinner. I want to come back to try that too!

Blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit. Delicious!

The best breakfast burrito in town!!! They're delicious, healthy, and a generous amount of food; I've been craving it after I tasted it the first time! Their blueberry pancake is moist and not too sweet, really love the fresh fruit. Really looking forward to bringing my friends and family here! Friendly service and ample parking! Spacious indoor space.

They offered a "March Madness" Weekend Breakfast Buffet & I'm hoping they extend it forever because it's elevated in all the right ways. Presentation. Ambiance. Service. Price $22.90? Yes Please, Chef's Kiss! Bonus Fact: Check Out My Keto Heaven Photo/Breakfast Plate!

This was our second breakfast visit here, and we took advantage of their current all-you-can-eat promotion. The variety of cold and hot dishes was impressive, and the prices were very reasonable. Everything tasted great, and our server Neal was very attentive and friendly.

We always seem to miss this place when they are open but finally we're able to get here early enough. Not super busy when we came in, only one party at a table. Waitress gave us our menus and container of water. I tried the Indian Sloppy Joe and it's SO GOOD. I'm a huge fan of lamb so it was a real treat. The fries were super crispy as well. My husband got the Biscuits and Grazy with Hashbrowns. He finished his plate so two thumbs up. We will be back again, and we definitely need to check out their lunch/dinner times for the Indian food.

This place is legit!!! 5*++ A quiet and enjoyable breakfast spot! Pancake is the morning restaurant, breakfast concept vs the evening restaurant of Cali Chili. Same space, same owners. A fantastic experience from the moment we walked in, til we left with our bellies more than satisfied. Service was great the entire time. The menu has several beverage choices from juices to coffee to libations. The food menu was the perfect amount of options. Not overwhelming, yet nice variety. One of my breakfast go-to's is Avocado Toast. This was pretty freakin fantastic! Portion may look on the smaller size, but it's deceiving. The orange marmalade provided a unique twist...a slight sweetness among a rather savory dish. Perfectly soft bread piled with plenty of avocado. The sauce on the side really elevated it to the next level. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite Avocado Toasts! Other items ordered at our table included salmon benedict and savory crepes. Both were a hit as well. The Benedict was a bit on the smaller side. The crepes were a heavier dish, much more filling. Another amazing spot in LB!

Some mornings my brain cannot process, so I require a menu with pictures. This place understands the assignment. Bonus: you can also order takeout if you need alone time. If you're serious about weekend brunch, you know it requires research, strategy, and a strong dislike of waiting. I made a reservation on OpenTable for a Saturday at 9:45 because I refuse to stand around hungry. I was shocked to see the place was not buzzing, which immediately made me feel like I may have discovered a baby hidden gem. The menu is dangerously good. Savory options like breakfast burritos, breakfast burgers, eggs benedict, and toasts. Sweet options including waffles, pancakes, and blintzes. Add brunch cocktails, coffees, smoothies, fresh juices, and breakfast specials, and suddenly decision-making becomes impossible. So naturally, our table of three chose chaos and ordered a lot. Every single dish was delicious and looked exactly like the menu photos (whoever staged those pictures deserves a raise). The sausage and gravy? Elite. That breakfast burger? I would eat it for dinner, a late-night snack, or as a personality trait. And the hollandaise on the Benedict -- so good I briefly considered asking for a side cup and drinking it like soup. No regrets. Service was fantastic, the space is perfectly sized, and the vibes were just right. Do yourself a favor and come here before it turns into a two-hour wait with people pretending it was always their spot. One small request to owners: please add more pancake options--maybe a Swedish pancake--because I will absolutely be back and I'm already planning my next order.

A friend told me about this place on Viking Way (off Bellflower and Carson). It has been open as a restaurant and bar for about 3 years, under the name Cali Chili. A year ago, they decided to open for breakfast, under the name "Pancake". Looking for a breakfast spot this morning, I decided to check it out! The restaurant looks small from the outside, but it is actually surprisingly large. In addition to the inside seating, there are outdoor tables available. The decor is quite nice and elegantly designed. (See photos) It was not very busy on this Friday morning. The menu has a nice selection of interesting items, including pancakes and French toast. My companion and I chose the Smoked Salmon Benedict, which was beautifully crafted, with a bacon wrapped asparagus accompaniment. Coffee was a good, tasty brew Price point is very reasonable. $$ This is a very nice place, with quality food. I think they need to get the word out! Three comments- Dark tint on the front windows makes it look closed from the outside. Provide real half 'n half for coffee. This is a classy place, no "creamer". Waitress needs to be a bit more attentive to customers.

They say a diamond in the rough is that beautiful gem in an unassuming place. Pancake...Simply Breakfast as it's referred to for breakfast, shares the building with Cali Chili an Unauthentic Indian Cuisine restaurant, just might meet this title. For breakfast they offer very bright selections of items such as Benedict's, avocado toasts, omelette's, biscuits and gravy, and my choice of the cheesy egg toast, plus many more. Everything is very fresh and well prepared. As simple as it sounds, the cheesy egg toast was a fluffy scrambled egg with cheese, red onions, diced tomatoes on a well toasted baguette. My wife and I shared an order of the cheese blintz with strawberries and bananas accompanied with a well made blueberry compote. It seems that freshness is a focus in all the ingredients they use here. For lunch and dinner, the place is Cali Chili and they offer a variety of fusion cuisine from beef ribs with curry, Korean inspired ribs and many, many more options. Discovering the flavors they offer for lunch and dinner, it has left a curios longing to try the exquisite flavors they offer. Molly, our server was great. The restaurant was caught by surprise on how busy they were on this Valentines morning for breakfast, that it had Molly bouncing from table to table, but she handled it perfectly. I can't wait to try the other breakfast options, as well as the Cali Chili menu.

We also ordered the ube Basque cheesecake, and it was easily one of the best desserts I've had recently--rich, creamy, and not too sweet. Our server, Sergio, made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations without making us feel rushed. The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere that's great for date night or dinner with friends. After enduring weeks of record breaking heat in Long Beach, this was the perfect place to land as the Summer Breeze... Makes Me Feel Fineeee again. A very well but gently lit space that still feels cozy and spacious. The outside gives no indication of how well the inside has been designed. Great for lunch or dinner dates. Noise level was low and there's no feeling of a chaotic restaurant environment. Food/Service 1-5: 4.8 I order the shrimp and lobsters fettuccine, bone marrow as an appetizer. My company ordered the lamb burger. All dishes we beautifully plated; true works of art. Neither of us had any complaints about presentation and creativity. As far as taste and as excited as we were to dig in to our food, the ONLY setback was the lack of seasoning mainly salt. I'm aware that a Chef does their best to meet the expectations of their guest. I'm also aware that meeting everyone's expectations is impossible. To confirm my advice of needing some salt in the food I patrons the restaurant twice, two days in a row. The food needs more salt and I stand solid on that opinion. The service was great and I thanked Mel for taking such great care of us. Mel is a rockstar! Diversity score 1-5: 4 The restaurant definitely appeals to diverse crowds. It reminded of the days I frequented Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster in Harlem, NY. Go again score 1-5: 5, Absolutely. I do hope I don't have to keep bothering the server for salt and pepper.

If you're looking for a spot with great atmosphere, a trendy vibe, and beautiful décor, this is definitely it. My favorite time to go is on the weekends for breakfast. I think they have some of the best breakfast options you'll find on 2nd Street. It's definitely a trendy, people-watching kind of place where you can enjoy the scene as much as the food. It's centrally located right in the heart of 2nd Street, directly across from Nick's. Between the stylish décor, lively atmosphere, and great location, it's just one of those places that has a really fun vibe.

I've gotten fish and chips a bunch of times; sometimes the fish great--but sometimes it is slightly under-fried. Today I tried their fried chicken sandwich and it was not great. The menu described the sandwiches coming with pickled vegetables, but it was very plain. The brioche bun was great, but it's not the selling point. The fries oddly also always come with a teaspoon of ketchup. My biggest gripe is the service. I stopped by to have lunch with my mom. I ordered a soda before we placed our food order. While we looked over the menu, I took a few sips of the soda and finished it. My mom drank her water, and finished it. The server came back and took the order, the drinks were empty and never refilled. Whatever, NBD. However, 10 more minutes passed and I flagged down a different server and asked for a refill. (My server had disappeared). The food came out eventually, my drink was nearly empty again--no refill. The runner asked if I needed anything else after setting the food down and I again asked if I could grab a refill (the server still has not come back to the table). I looked around and he was chatting it up with a bartender leaning against the wall and giggling. Super annoying-- I'm glad the culture here means that the employees are friends and can talk and joke around. I don't need constant engagement, but you can't let drinks stay empty for lengthy periods of time. Half way done with the food, we still had empty drinks. Server never came back, runner never came back. Finished the food and sat for ten mins. Flagged down yet again another server and asked for the check. My server made his was over with the check--tips START at 25%, then 23%, then 20% Our lunch was about $70 (without the tip). This isn't McDonald's. The food was meh and the service was terrible. The cost did not make me feel like there was any value given the lack of attentiveness and quality of the meal.

It's one of the most unique, eclectic restaurants you'll find in Long Beach. And if you love cornbread, oh my God, you have to try theirs! It's warm, buttery, served with honey, and absolutely delicious. I'm telling you, it's worth going just for the cornbread. The breakfasts are great. The lunches are great. The food across the board is fantastic. The bartenders are great. The menu has plenty of variety, and the whole place just has this incredible vibe. Imagine trying to find the restaurant with the biggest personality on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. That's basically The Attic. There's a certain energy to this place that's hard to describe. It's the same way Palm Springs has its own energy, or Melrose Avenue has a certain feeling you can't quite replicate anywhere else. The Attic has that kind of magic. And the best part? The food actually lives up to the atmosphere. The menu doesn't disappoint, the service is great, and the entire experience feels like something you won't find anywhere else. To me, The Attic represents Long Beach in every possible way. Because that's what makes Long Beach special, right? We're not Orange County. We're not Los Angeles. We're Long Beach. We have our own personality, our own culture, and our own energy. We're a little eclectic, a little unexpected, and completely ourselves. Booth the food and drinks were nice. This visit, we stopped by in the afternoon just as happy hour was starting. There was a good amount of people already inside which could be that in between lunch rush and beginning of happy hour. Getting a table was a cinch as we were seating right away on the patio. It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

A New Job, A New Milestone & A Chance to Rewrite the Narrative…read more My best friend and I have a tradition of celebrating new jobs with a nice dinner. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. I've been about 2-3 times now, and the food has consistently been really good. That being said, I would definitely recommend a little more customer service training for the servers. Everyone I've encountered has been very nice, but sometimes it's the simple things, like showing that you're happy to serve your paying customers and making sure they feel taken care of. Each time I've visited, we've found ourselves waiting close to 30 minutes for our server to come by for refills, a to-go box, or even the check. I completely understand that mistakes happen and that things can get busy. I've worked in the restaurant industry before, so I really do try my best to be understanding. However, during one of my recent visits, my order came out incorrectly. There was an item on my plate that I had specifically requested not to have. Of course, mistakes happen, and I had no issue communicating the mistake to my server. What bothered me was that instead of apologizing for the error, she looked at me and simply walked away with the plate. I assumed it was a minor mistake and that she would have the order corrected. I could have just removed the item myself, but at the same time, I shouldn't have to pick through my food after receiving an incorrect order when I'm paying for it. When she brought the plate back, she simply left it on the table without saying anything or acknowledging the mistake. I actually found myself apologizing to her for making her do the extra work, and she just walked away. Overall, I really do think Luna is a great restaurant with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. I'm sharing this feedback because I think with some improvement in customer service, communication, and wait times, Luna has the potential to be even better. I would definitely come back, and I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism rather than anything negative.

The waitress was kind and attentive. The Creamy Jalapeño Pesto with shrimp was delicious, but could've benefitted from additional shrimp and more pronounced Jalapeño flavor. Prices have increased a bit, fyi. Regardless, Luna's still a 5-star establishment.

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. I had the work burger, which has fried portobello mushrooms. Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

We stopped by here because it was late and they were still open. Another reason I wanted to try it…read morewas because they served poutine, and I'm always on the lookout for places that offer it. It was really loud during our visit. I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.
