There's a new restaurant on Vanderbilt and trust me, you need to check it out! The space is intimate and has an open concept kitchen that offers direct view of all the action. I love watching the front and back of the house work together. If that's your vibe too, you'll love having a glimpse of the action. We ordered the heirloom tomato salad, the house french fries, the broccolini and the branzino. Everything was DE-LISH-OUS. But, we have to give the branzino its moment. Omg! You can't convince me it wasn't just caught and grilled to order on the spot. That char, the flavors! The branzino was light, fresh, and the sauce just gave it an extra pop of brightness that it probably didn't needed but that we welcomed all the same. There's an outdoor space that I didn't get to visit. Honestly, that just gives me the perfect reason to go back for round 2. Who's coming with?

I saw this restaurant opened up nearby and was excited to try it and I'm so glad that I did! I didn't have a reservation, but I was lucky enough that it was relatively empty on a Thursday night. I was seated at the bar and the bartender was very nice and attentive. He even entertained my request to change the glass for my watermelon basil margarita and I must say it was a very well-made drink. I have a gluten allergy and they were very knowledgeable on what I could and couldn't have - even noting that the fryer is shared so it would be cross contamination. I started with the Caesar salad, and it was probably my least favorite of the dishes. While it was very fresh and crisp, for some reason, the dressing was just a bit too watery for me. Now, the star of the show was definitely the steak, which was made on a Woodfire grill. It was cooked perfectly and so tender, and the added chimichurri sauce just brought it over board. I also got a side of Potato purée, which was very tasty. I didn't have any dessert, but the people next to me were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant brought them a complementary dish, which I thought was so nice. I think it was a flan and it looked very good. The restaurant itself is very well decorated and they have a back patio, which they told me will be heated all winter. They also told me it is Latin owned. I'm looking forward to going back!

Incredible food, ambiance and service. One of the better restaurants in Brooklyn, innovative and creative. Design wise it's truly a gem.

We didn't have a reservation, but we went the day after a snow storm so it was pretty quiet. At first we were the only customers, but they slowly filled up during our meal. I would describe the inside as 'rustic cute'. It feels very cozy with the exposed brick, wooden tables, and soft lighting. For food we each did the Prix Fixe which lets you choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For appetizers we got the Chileatole and the Anticuchos. For entrees I got the Grass-Fed Skirt Steak and my boyfriend got the Pato en Mole Poblano. For dessert we both got the Bread Pudding. I thought the Prix Fixe was a good deal for the quantity and quality of food. Everything was prepared fresh and tasted delicious. Favorite bites were the Chileatole soup and the Skirt Steak. Our server was super friendly and approachable. Overall it was a really good experience and I would definitely return the next time I'm visiting the area.

Ordered from here on a whim and I'm beyond happy I did!…read more What a flavor bomb every bite was. Wow. Ordered the rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce and got it with yellow rice and tostones. (9 out of 10) Also tried the empanada sampler which came with four empanadas of my choosing and tried the Beef, shrimp, chicken, and birria. (8 out of 10) I mean this sincerely... everything was beyond flavorful. The rotisserie garlic chicken had to be my favorite bite of the night but each empanada included in the sampler was crispy, tender, and decadent; each one leaving its own individual mark. Seriously blown away and might even had to stop in to try the food at the restaurant next time. Can't wait to see order from here again!

Food: This place is quite bad. We ordered the tortilla soup and the vegan tofu chimichurri. The tortilla soup was inedible it was so salty. The tofu was grilled and entirely burnt on the bottom. I had to slice the entire bottom off. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful. The yellow rice side seemed like bagged instant rice. The maduros were good. Did not try the alcohol but they had a large selection including non alcoholic options. The place adds a 20% auto gratuity fee. Kind of absurd on a 2 person check. I am Latina so perhaps I have a higher expectation for Latin food but I'm perplexed at how this place could have such high ratings, perhaps it was just a bad night. I would never go back and would not recommend.

There are only a handful of tables, but we were still able to find a spot easily (we went around 2pm). We ordered Cuban sandwiches and guava pastelitos. I hadn't had a Cuban sandwich in years, and these absolutely did not disappoint. The sandwiches had the perfect balance of bread, meat, cheese, and sauce. They were rich and flavorful without being greasy or dry. They also came with plantain chips and a garlic sauce on the side, which was a nice touch. I also really enjoyed the guava pastry. It had a generous amount of guava filling but wasn't overly sweet. I'm so glad we discovered this spot and will definitely be coming back.

I ordered the below and enjoyed it all: -Chicken Plate: very satisfying -Pork Sandwich (a little oily, but would order again) -Empanadas: favorite was ham & cheese. The guava one was ok - a bit rich and leans more heavily cheese.

Their menu is diverse and creative and honestly took quite a while to read through because everything sounded amazing. From soups to ceviches, there's a little bit of everything here. I ordered the crispy oysters with spicy tuna, avocado mousse, and totiko ($26). The plating was absolutely stunning and the flavor profiles were incredible together. My only wish is that there were more. I figure that perhaps that's my fault, because ceviches are usually smaller plates, but it didn't fill me up as a full meal, but it was still a delightful culinary experience that anyone would be lucky to have. Finally, we received our sliders, and they were just amazing, as always. We all loved them! They are a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Once I received my main dish, I took a bite, and to be honest, I wasn't wowed by the taste. Now, it wasn't bad by any means, but it was just okay. Additionally, the fries I received with my order were cold. I also want to note that their servings are HUGE, which is a great thing! P.S I also requested on the app if we can have someone sing Happy Birthday, (or have someone come out with a dessert with candles), but the request wasn't fulfilled. Anyways, they've always done a fantastic job with the service and food.
