caution when ordering online!!! sometimes they are closed and keep site up online and take your money and don't instantly resolve or update their site to reflect their business hours. On top of that: the items on menu are not what you are served. i have a limited lunch break and was told my order was ready. when i arrived, my steak sandwich with fries had no fries. asked if they could remedy, they tried to tell me that the item didn't come with a side when it CLEARLY states that sandwiches and burgers come with fries. otherwise it makes for overpriced average food. haven't left a review on yelp in years. this was the final straw. will not be returning. :/ read more

Neighborhood corner bar. Location at the corner of Dean and Underhill gives it a more local feel as opposed to the many bars on more heavily trafficked avenues like Vanderbilt and Washington. Five beers on draft. All were macros. They have a handful of tables outside plus a counter at the window which opens up. They had the windows and doors open which great a wonderfully breezy atmosphere on a beautiful day. I had a couple beers and we shared some fries. Service was friendly and attentive. We were very excited to try this place. However, one of the staff--a older man was very rude. My 2 year old was playing with his fork at the table and he came and grabbed his hand and disciplined my son, telling him not to do that. Please do not discipline someone else's kid and keep your hands to yourself. If you have a problem with my son tell me about your issue,,but do not touch my 2 year old and grab his hand, that is not your place and it is not professional. It ruined our time there and we asked for the check and left immediately. The atmosphere was not welcoming. Had a wonderful meal and dining experience for lunch here today. The moussaka was perfectly structured, layered, and seasoned, the greek and caesar salads fresh and prepared with care, and the baklava, yogurt, and sour cherries the unexpected and perfect ending to all that deliciousness. My husband and I sat outside with our dog, and the outdoor space is well shaded and quiet on a peaceful corner. I was not pleased with my first order from this restaurant. $22 for a greek salad that barely filled a plate AND the GYRO did NOT meet expectations either. I specifically requested EXTRA WHITE sauce. Not only did they not add extra- they put NONE., I also asked for hot sauce which of course was also not added. The hummus was tasteless but the pita was nice and warm and soft. Delivery came very quick. Ive been here a couple of times before and know the food is good. The spanakopita is outstanding. The lemon chicken is a large portion and delicious too. One recommendation is to ask them to wrap the container with the lemon chicken in foil or use a tighter container because most of the juices/sauce spilled out into the bag. She said the owner looked at the camera and said we weren't welcome even after tipping. She mentioned some nearby party that we had no involvement in. I'd actually rate this place at more of a 3.5 than a 4 but, well, Yelp doesn't have half-star options. I guess going off the stellar reviews, I had pretty high expectations but idk, personally I wasn't really impressed? And as a fan of Mediterranean food, I REALLY wanted to like this place (even ordered twice, just in case they were having an off night the first time). Chicken souvlaki didn't have much flavor at all and although the lamb meatballs were admittedly tender, I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce. The second time I ordered was a bit better-- their lamb burger was pretty good, liked how the flavors came together, just thought it was a tad greasy. Stuffed grape leaves were yummy; lemon potatoes were pretty typical but they gave a generous portion. They DO give you a small free dessert and I thought that was really nice of them. read more

I love this new neighborhood spot. The space inside isn't big so it's a cozy spot. They take reservations over the phone and have high chairs. They are very kid friendly and the waiter automatically offered plastic cups for the kids. They were very accommodating with us putting our stroller next to our table. We ordered the octopus, saganaki, Underhill pizza and their lamb special of the day. All of it was delicious with my favorite being the saganaki. They have a giant screen tv before the bar so could be a good place to come watch games and sports. I believe they also host events in their space as we came once and they were closed for an event. Ambience: Started out with a semi chilly night, they do not have any heat lamps or outdoor lighting. Service: Started off nice, but as the night went on and they had to handle their takeout options, they started to forget about us. Eventually, we ended up waiting a full 15 minutes just to get takeaway boxes as we froze outside. I even had to call the restaurant because they literally did not visit our table this entire time as we were waiting, then the waiter had forgotten multiple requests for takeaway boxes and it was a whole ordeal checking out. Food: The spanakopita was a huge slice - well flavored We got a lamb gyro platter with fries - these were pretty well flavored, nice slices of meat, large portion size Lastly we got the pasticchio dish - a Greek comfort food - almost like a Lasagna - this was also pretty great with creamy sauces and rich flavors. This came with a soup that was green and unfortunately flavorless, so we set it aside. The salad was pretty standard but pretty large. This Greek restaurant in Prospect Heights has blown me away. It is located on Dean St. The decor is delightful. The windows add a very nice touch. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our table at the window as we ate dinner. It is a family established restaurant with excellent service. Everyone is very friendly. We ordered the Lamb Keftedes, Sesame & Honey Saganaki, & the Underhill Lamb Burger. All were delicious. Our favorite was the Sesame & Honey Saganaki. The fried cheese with the honey & sesame seeds with tahini herb purée is amazing. It is a very well rounded dish. We will definitely come here again and again for it! The food tastes very fresh, and the house made pita comes out very warm. I can not recommend this place enough! This Greek place is (kinda) on fleek but not entirely. I was driving by when this eatery popped up on my Yelp radar. I didn't have time dine so I decided to do takeout. Underhill Brooklyn is at the corner of Underhill and Dean street. Even though the place is on the smaller scale, it's spacious enough to accommodate small groups (tables can be placed together). Decor is modern and simple. They have a nice bar area with bar stools and a television mounted on the wall for happy hour. Beer and wine menu selection is somewhat minimal but choices are easy. Staff was very welcoming. I was presented a menu along with a smile. Staff also said they have happy hour special ($2 off beers) as well if I decided to stay. Everything on the menu looked exotic and attractive but I selected three items to experiment with: zucchini croquettes, grilled halloumi and grilled chicken skewers. Menu prices are up there so just be prepared to break out a few dollars if you order expensive food dishes. I was pleasantly impressed with the flavor of the food. My favorite was the zucchini croquettes. The zucchini croquettes are not the breaded kind but a square-shaped appetizer that is flavorful and packed with rich seasoning. It's a bit mushy and better to eat it with a fork. Grilled halloumi was interesting. It was kinda salty but overall tasty. It's basically semi-hard, specialty cheese that can be fried or grilled. Unfortunately, the disappointment was the grilled chicken skewers. Maybe I was expecting something else but I didn't like the texture of the chicken. It was a grayish colored (maybe it was dark meat?) and rubbery. I just couldn't eat it. Now the pita bread...oh yeah. It was delicious, soft and fresh. Oh yeah, lol. I was just eating this like no tomorrow. Pita bread was the bomb. Overall, this place provides quality Greek food but I still need a few more visits to really decide if it will be a fav. We've been waiting for what seems like over 2 years for this place to finally open and I'm so glad it finally did! We finally have a Greek place right around the corner! Give me pitas, olives and tziki sauce and I'm a happy girl. We came here for brunch, which I'm sure isn't where they shine as their dinner menu looked a lot better. Never the less, I ordered a classic eggs Benedict but Greek style of course. And by Greek I'm mean they sprinkled the eggs with feta cheese and served with a side of pita bread, which I loved! There was also a side of (I'm sorry to say) very bland hash browns. My boyfriend got the burger with fries that were seasoned to perfection so I'm going to say maybe they just forgot to season my hash browns? The brunch deal is pretty good with a main brunch dish you can have bottomless drinks for an extra $17 ( including mimosas, Bellinis, beers on tap and coffee/tea) but it only lasts an hour. It's okay though they were pretty generous and totally worth it! They also have an amazing happy hour during the week that lasts until 5-9PM! Can't really complain there! I just love this place! I called today to order my usual shrimp pita. Apparently, they switched up the menu recently and no longer have it listed. However, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly generous and offered to make it for me anyways. Just some old school hospitality and tasted just as good as I remember. BRUNCH! We were looking for a local brunch spot that was relatively close to the Botanical Gardens and decided on this venue. Mediterranean-fusion styled brunch. $17 for brunch item plus one free brunch-drink and coffee/tea = good deal. I think for an additional $12 you could have unlimited drinks for an hour. (def check out the specs). The restaurant was not all that busy but the service was kinda slow. Not sure why. I normally go for the eggs benedict but had eggs in the am sooooo I ordered the french toast with jelly and nutella. Felt they were a little skimpy on the nutella and jelly but was otherwise tasty. My friends enjoyed their entrees which were served with pita bread, goat cheese etc(Mediterranean feel). Overall: not a bad brunch place to visit, esp if in the area. This place used to be the bomb when it was Greek! They are opened as an American comfort food fare and still offer lamb gyros and "Greek salad." However, for $40 my Greek salad had lettuce in it and two very small pieces of feta, and the lamb gyro was literally two pieces of lamb with a white drizzle of some sort with nothing else that came with fries and a plain side salad. Sadly not worth the price tag or the fare. The guys are super nice and threw in a piece of cake but it's sadly not the same quality as it was prior. Wish it would go back to Greek!! read more

When I ordered on seamless the restaurant called me (over an hour later) to inform me that seamless was unwilling to deliver my order. Seamless informed me that the restaurant told them I'd threatened them with a bad review. That never happened. And 2 hours later I still had no dinner. The owner called me and berated me for signaling out a small business. As a small business owner with happy clients, I had done no such thing. Anyhow clearly I never ate food from this place so I can't comment on that. However the customer service is more than lacking. Also their response to my review just shows how childish these people are. If they spent half the amount of time on customer service as they do lying to and about their customers, they would probably be able to handle a small delivery just 10 minutes down the road!!! read more

Breakfast or dinner, you can't go wrong with eating at this cafe. This cafe is close to our daughter's apartment and both meals we had there was great and the service was great. We will definitely go back when we visit again! read more
