    Cheeseburger empanadas
    Fabienne M.

The Dominican comfort food here is always amazing. The steak in the steak quesadilla is always tender juicy and full of flavor I enjoy it very much. The cheeseburger empanadas are always a must one of my fave things on the menu. My first time trying their henny colada which was bet delicious and loved the touch of shaved coconut toppings. The service is always pleasant. Plenty of seating. Lovely ambiance the barrels as tables is very cool.

Great Dominican street food. It's fast and inexpensive. I wish the empanadas had more filling but that is probably how they are able to keep the prices lower. I do recommend if you are looking for a quick bite while you're in the neighborhood.

The place has a casual feel, like more of a to-go place, but there is plenty of seating including outdoor seating. We got take out. It was a bit of a wait to get the food. Overall the food was pretty good and very reasonably priced. The empanada was delicious and the croquettas were great. The pernil was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. The burger is very interesting. The cabbage on the chimi is perfect, fresh, lightly pickled. The Cuban sandwich was disappointing and dry.

I got the beef chimi because it was chimi Wednesday so it was only $5 instead of $10. It was okay but I would not get again. The beef was pretty thin and it was a bit too well done and it didn't taste like good quality

The food and service here is awesome! It's the only place in the area that serves authentic Dominican food. Always a great bite to grab

While this isn't the best BBQ I've had (the best I've had were in Texas and Georgia!), this is…read morestill one of the better food spots in Dumbo - it's a touristy area and I've had tons of the overpriced restaurants, treats, and snacks in the area over the years as I took my friends and family. Overall, I'd say that Bark Barbecue is one of the better food spots in all of Dumbo, though still not mindblowing. I went several times at peak dinner service (30+ min wait) and the meat was soft, melt-in-your-mouth, flavorful, and incredible, but I went again around 6pm before peak dinner service (no line, yay!) and noticed the pulled pork was very dry and not as piping hot - definitely had been left out under the heat lamps for a while before I received my order. Pros and cons of the timing, I suppose! Love their BBQ sauce. Drenching the meat is my favorite part. Busy spot in Timeout Market but is always my personal must try if I MUST eat in Dumbo.

If you can deal with the long lines and chaotic ordering process, you'll be rewarded with some deliciously tender Brisket, super savory Longaniza, and incredibly rich Chicharron. We had to wait an extra 20 min for a new batch of Mac 'n' Cheese to be ready, but the big serving and ooey-gooey nature earned our forgiveness. Throw in the ample seating that's a specialty of non-Manhattan BBQ joints, and you've got a great spot for a casual dinner. Not sure I'd schlep out here just for Bark, but I'm not mad we tried it.

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.

I will say that. A gentleman walked in also Hispanic, but we can identify and assume what color of skin he was because he sat down right next to me, and the server literally went to him did not even look at me not once and asked him what he wanted and took his sit down order right next to me in front of my face!
