Not a fan. Decided to try them out because the photos look amazingly delicious. Unfortunately, the food wasn't. We ordered mofonguitos, shrimp and chicken. It had no flavor, and I was expecting chicken chunks, or even shredded, but the consistency of the chicken was more so like tuna. The shrimp was bland. Def don't recommend. We also ordered chicken sandwiches, it was decent and came with fries. I also ordered this chicken plantain sandwich, it was good because of the ketchup/mayo flavor. I was walking around the neighborhood yesterday and decided to give this spot a try. I walked in and it seemed quite busy with the orders flowing in. The vibe is mostly take out/delivery here, even though they do have some seating if you really wished to eat here. I ordered two types of empanadas - cheeseburger and chicken melt - along with a beef chimi sandwich that seems like is their most popular menu item. It took them a while to complete my order, but I was happy to wait, I got my food to go and brought it home to eat. The empanada fillings were delicious - cheeseburger was cheesy and meaty and the chicken melt was well seasoned and gooey, just how I like it. However, there was way too much shell and not enough filling, it was off putting because the empanada was mostly just fried dough on the edges. The chimi sandwich left a lot to be desired. The bread was burnt on the outside, and there was simply not enough meat in the sandwich. It was basically a small hamburger patty dressed up in a ton of shredded cabbage and tomato and sauce which is fine but the patty was also rock solid and burnt on the outside. It tasted horrible. I will say the dipping sauces that came along with the empanadas, the pink sauce, and the chipotle sauce were delicious and had to work overtime to save the flavors on the sandwich. For $18, I was expecting to walk out with better quality food, and was definitely disappointed. I still think that their flavors are not entirely a mess, so if they make some changes and improvements in the quality of their food, this could be a solid place. read more

If you are looking for the perfect late night snack location look no further! My friend and I had went to a party down the road that didn't really have great food options. As we got out of the party, we really needed to eat before heading back to Yonkers. I'm so happy I found this location on my Yelp app. The location has a very small storefront, but they had a couple of chairs outside to sit down and eat your meal. When I walked in the menu had so many tempting options, but I went with the yucca with cheese balls and a chimi. First, let me tell you they prepare all of this stuff fresh because everything came out piping hot. The yucca balls were huge and absolutely yummy. My friend had ordered the croquettes and those things were the size of chicken tenders. Also very huge. But the sandwich was truly the star. I had a beef chimi. The size of the sandwich was great. The toppings were delicious and gave the sandwich a great balance. This was the perfect way to end the night. My friend had never had a chimi in her life and she is now converted. Been anticipating coming here since it's right in my neighborhood and it didn't disappoint. They have a small outdoor seating, but I picked up my food to go it's not really a sit down spot. Service was friendly and personable, very welcoming. It's clean and bright in there with plenty of pictures of the items they serve. I went with the steak quesadilla with a cheeseburger empanada and passion fruit drink. Amazing, the steak was juicy , tender, fresh and well seasoned. Not greasy at all I really enjoyed it. The cheese burger empanada was also great full of flavor fresh ground beef and cheese nice tasting crust. Last but not least the passion fruit drink flew me straight to the Caribbean island, very refreshing like I was biting straight into the fruit itself. I hate posting bad reviews, but I must in this case. I travelled to Antojitos to try their goods. I ordered a crispy Chicken sandwich and waited a very long time. I took my sandwich to go because there is very little seating. I ate my sandwich and fries in the privacy of my home and cannot say that I was impressed. Antojitos deep fries everything in oil that has been overused. The result was a bad stomach ache. This is a rarity for me. I order food in restaurants several times a week and I rarely become sick. I found out about Antojitos BK from my son who saw a video on TikTok. Before you start criticizing their Cuban sandwich, come in and taste it. This sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I ever tasted. It's their version of a Cuban sandwich. Maybe it should be called the CubDom sandwich. I was greeted warmly when I entered the restaurant. I ordered a Chimi, yuca balls, and a juice through Uber Eats, and unfortunately, the experience was awful. The Chimi was so soggy it was completely inedible. When I tried picking it up, it was drenched in so much sauce that it slipped right through my fingers. Whoever cut it clearly used something other than a knife because it was a mess. It's frustrating to support local businesses with hard-earned money, only to end up throwing the food away. And of course, Uber Eats won't refund me. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. The food I did get was good. Now the customer service on the other hand left me annoyed. I tried to be pleasant since I did want my f9od and I had already paid for it. I was given the run around on the phone until closing time when they hung up on me. I called the next day still trying to get my order and was told too bad call the delivery service. I could have done that yesterday! They behave like what's the big deal, and even alleged I got the order when I have a feeling they know I did not. Best way to recognize a top notch place from the rest is how they serve their shrimp: theirs passed my test. Shrimp was double cleaned and cooked absolutely perfectly, good portion. The staff was patient despite my difficulty deciding on sauce. So glad I went with the rich garlicky white sauce - only way to go IMHO! I'm disappointed to rate them this low but I had afew days to really marinate on the food experience at Antojitos. Their signature , the mofonguitos was a must to try so I went along with that and I got a beef empanada as a light dessert . The mofonguito is basically a mini cup made from dehydrated plantains that houses whatever filling you choose . I went with the chicken to be safe . The chicken was similar to a chicken salad , but it was better seasoned and had some cheese on top to boost its flavor . The shell of it (plantain cup) was abit too dry for my liking and really didn't add to the flavor experience tbh . I'd rate this a 3/5 . The empanada was one of the worst I've ever had . I got the beef and I could tell it was seasoned similarly to the chicken from the mofonguito which sucked . I'd like a different feeling when tasting a different type of meat . Nonetheless, the beef was not thoroughly seasoned and actually had two shades of beef colors when I cracked it open(gross as fcuk) It also tasted very underwhelming and I quickly gave it to the doggy after digging in . I'm rating a generous 3 stars for the mofonguito experience and also the politeness shown by the cashier in explaining some menu options. The outside seating they offer is probably the best in Sunset Park right now so it might be worth it for some to check out . As for myself , it'll take more work for me to consider trying anything again but you never know . read more

Man ohh man, let me start off by saying customer service is horrible! I called ahead of time to see what time they close, and was told 9pm. I asked on the phone if I get there before 9pm will I be able to order food and was told yes! I get there at 9:44pm and was told they close at 8:45pm and that I would not be able to get food. Mind you I had my kids with me who was looking forward to getting something to eat! I asked the young lady why are they false advertising and she said that she ain't in charge of that, she proceeded to say that the cooks in the back was not gonna cook anymore food!
