Yuca Cheese bites/ Bolitas de yuca con queso

If you are looking for the perfect late night snack location look no further! My friend and I had went to a party down the road that didn't really have great food options. As we got out of the party, we really needed to eat before heading back to Yonkers. I'm so happy I found this location on my Yelp app. The location has a very small storefront, but they had a couple of chairs outside to sit down and eat your meal. When I walked in the menu had so many tempting options, but I went with the yucca with cheese balls and a chimi. First, let me tell you they prepare all of this stuff fresh because everything came out piping hot. The yucca balls were huge and absolutely yummy. My friend had ordered the croquettes and those things were the size of chicken tenders. Also very huge. But the sandwich was truly the star. I had a beef chimi. The size of the sandwich was great. The toppings were delicious and gave the sandwich a great balance. This was the perfect way to end the night. My friend had never had a chimi in her life and she is now converted. She lives in Yonkers and has already come back to this location based off our prior experience. Definitely a great spot.

I was walking around the neighborhood yesterday and decided to give this spot a try. I walked in and it seemed quite busy with the orders flowing in. The vibe is mostly take out/delivery here, even though they do have some seating if you really wished to eat here. I ordered two types of empanadas - cheeseburger and chicken melt - along with a beef chimi sandwich that seems like is their most popular menu item. It took them a while to complete my order, but I was happy to wait, I got my food to go and brought it home to eat. The empanada fillings were delicious - cheeseburger was cheesy and meaty and the chicken melt was well seasoned and gooey, just how I like it. However, there was way too much shell and not enough filling, it was off putting because the empanada was mostly just fried dough on the edges. The chimi sandwich left a lot to be desired. The bread was burnt on the outside, and there was simply not enough meat in the sandwich. It was basically a small hamburger patty dressed up in a ton of shredded cabbage and tomato and sauce which is fine but the patty was also rock solid and burnt on the outside. It tasted horrible. I will say the dipping sauces that came along with the empanadas, the pink sauce, and the chipotle sauce were delicious and had to work overtime to save the flavors on the sandwich. For $18, I was expecting to walk out with better quality food, and was definitely disappointed. I still think that their flavors are not entirely a mess, so if they make some changes and improvements in the quality of their food, this could be a solid place.

Been anticipating coming here since it's right in my neighborhood and it didn't disappoint. They have a small outdoor seating, but I picked up my food to go it's not really a sit down spot. Service was friendly and personable, very welcoming. It's clean and bright in there with plenty of pictures of the items they serve. I went with the steak quesadilla with a cheeseburger empanada and passion fruit drink. Amazing, the steak was juicy , tender, fresh and well seasoned. Not greasy at all I really enjoyed it. The cheese burger empanada was also great full of flavor fresh ground beef and cheese nice tasting crust. Last but not least the passion fruit drink flew me straight to the Caribbean island, very refreshing like I was biting straight into the fruit itself. Highly recommend, I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

This is supposed to be a Chimi with fresh cabbage

I ordered a Chimi, yuca balls, and a juice through Uber Eats, and unfortunately, the experience was awful. The Chimi was so soggy it was completely inedible. When I tried picking it up, it was drenched in so much sauce that it slipped right through my fingers. Whoever cut it clearly used something other than a knife because it was a mess. It's frustrating to support local businesses with hard-earned money, only to end up throwing the food away. And of course, Uber Eats won't refund me. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. Just a reminder I should save money. Please do better..

The chicharron mofongo was made to order and flavorful. While the skin could've been more crispy, it still tasted great with the cheese sauce was comparable to the Heights! Would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

Steak quesadilla, nice size pieces of steak inside and seasoned well.

I went here and ordered the chimi chicken with mozzarella and ordered the mofonguito with chicharron and white sauce. The chimi chicken tasted good, and the chicken wasn't dry. The mofonguitos, which come in an order of 4, weren't bad either. Also, you can order two different meats with the mofoguitos, so you'll get 2 & 2 instead of one meat. The place is small and has a few seats.

the food here is fantastic. they pretty much only have outdoor seating so it's more of a grab and go situation.

This Texan found Texas level smoked meat in NYC and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste! These guys have it right. I tried a pound of brisket, marble cut so very moist, one pork rib, with a delicious pepper bark, and the Dominican rice and beans, and the cornbread. Everything was a 10/10. Because it's in the food hall it was counter service which was pretty fast and friendly. Be prepared for a line though. It's worth the wait!

We decided to wait, and it took us 45 minutes to get our food. My favorite meat was the pork ribs. The brisket was tasty but a bit on the dry side, and the sausage didn't stand out to me. I wish that the meats all came with more sauce. Out of the side dishes, I liked the cornbread the most, although the rice and beans and the mac and cheese were also tasty. The food here was solid, but in my opinion, it was not worth the price or the wait. You could get a much nicer experience and tastier meal at a similar price elsewhere.

Went on a Friday with no reservations. They were super kind and fast with service. I came in hungry and order a ton - I had the tostone rellenos and ensalado del puerto. They hit! The tostone was creative, elegant and best bite of the evening. The salad had so much veggies and was very fresh the dressing it comes with is vibrant and lime-y. Great start to a meal. I had Churrasco which came with yellow rice and black beans. It was incredible, and I always get a tad scared with skirt steaks being overcooked but it was the perfect medium with grilled marks. The chimichurri was great too. I am nit-picking here but a little more salt and pepper on everything would of been great. Don't come with out having the sangria, they pack a punch!

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.
