If I could leave zero stars, I would. If you call the main number, it hangs up on you. If you go there, no one is there. Just a sign that says to call for an appointment, which is a totally different number. The message doesn't say anything to identify the company. Within 10 minutes of leaving a message, I got two pornographic text messages, one after the other. They are selling cell phone numbers to the dark web. Use this place at your own peril! I brought Julian two pairs of broken glasses, not expecting them to be fixable, but thinking it was worth a try. He told me he'd do his best to repair them, and that if it didn't work, there would be no charge! For me, that's worth five stars already. He repaired both pairs of glasses in two days for a very reasonable price. I'm very pleased to not have to go out and spend a bunch of money on new ones! Julian is obviously skilled at what he does and a little "old fashioned" which in my opinion is a plus these days. You know who is working on your job and you know it will get done right and you know he will answer any questions that you have. If you need to be able to check your job status on an app or find it unacceptable that a single proprietor business might on occasion be unexpectedly closed, then I guess you'll have to go somewhere else. But you'll be sacrificing work quality and expense. read more

I left a phone message on a Monday asking about the hours. I received a call back from owner on Tuesday telling me the hours and we agreed that I would be there Wednesday at 10:30 to drop off glasses for repair. When I arrived at the appointed time the shop was closed. I called to see if I should wait after driving 20 minutes (I wanted to support small businesses) and after waiting 10 min, headed home. It is now 16 hours later and I have heard nothing from the business. He has my number yet has not called to explain/apologized. read more

Julian and his wife own and run this place and are the nicest people I know in the bay area. Julian is a master when it comes to anything to do with glasses or contacts, he has repaired frames and made custom lenses to fit weird frames for me many times. His selection is incredible and he has tons in the back if you tell him what you like he will find 5 different ones in the back to match. Even after moving to Sacramento I still only go to him and he will even mail me my glasses or contacts me if I can't make it to him. My past experiences having Julian repair my glasses have been excellent! Great customer service, repairs always done quickly ( same day or next day turnaround) That's very rare these days. Julian never disappoints. I have handed him some pretty mangled glasses ,some I was extremely surprised he was able to fix they were so badly damaged. His prices are very very reasonable, I never get the feeling he would try taking advantage of anyone. He is a one man band if you will, doesn't have anyone making the repairs except himself. Julian is awesome. He treats each customer like they are the only one he is taking care of that day. I accidentally rolled over my glasses and Julian fixed them in two minutes flat for an excellent rate. I noticed other reviews talked about some inconsistencies about his hours of operation. The posted hours stated the shop opens at 10:30 on Sat so I arrived shortly after and waited until past 10:40 before running an errand and returning later. I would aim for the middle of his hours to avoid this issue. It is the only reason I gave Pacific Optical 4 stars. read more

Broke my pair of Silhouette glasses, searched many optical places for a repair, including the place I purchased them at. No one could help me so I drove down to Pacific North and spoke to Julian. The owner (I think Julian was his name) fixed my eyeglasses yesterday. I had lost the little tiny bolt in the frame on both sides. I'd used two pieces of duct tape for months which I thought was discreet, but my friend noticed recently so it was time to get those little bolts replaced. I came in w no appointment. I can't say enough good things about Pacific North Optical! My older pair of Silhouette frames broke in 1/2, right across the bridge. Nope, no extra pair so was wearing them taped looking like a complete nerd. Sat I discovered most optical places wont touch rimless Silhouettes. I was referred to Pacific North by Walgreen's Optical. I arrived on the stroke of 3PM right at their closing time, but Julian still let me in. I offered to leave my glasses & come back. He switched the bridge from another pair of extra glasses in less than 10 minutes; I was shocked at how little he charged me. We had a delightful conversation & I left a happy woman. My wife's vision is somewhat impaired, and she has been struggling to make do with her transition lenses since she got them a year ago. Even though they were remade twice, they never seemed right, and it was barely possible to use them for reading. Julian's shop gives one the impression that he is disorganized. Incredibly nothing could be further from the truth. I found him a number of years ago when I needed special lenses made for some cycling glasses; he was the only one I could find willing to make the lenses, and I went a half dozen other places. He did a superb job and I've been getting glasses and lenses made and repaired by him now for more years than I can quite recall. He has never lost a pair of lenses or glasses or been unable to tell me the exact status of my order. His brain must be like a super computer. He knows his stuff and keeps track of his customers and their orders seemingly in his head and never misses a beat. Can't recommend him or his work highly enough! read more

I've been going to Julian for years. He even recommends optometrists and opthmologists that are really good from Kaiser. I bring him my prescription from Kaiser and he makes the lenses. He adjusts and fine tunes the numbers and I always have perfect vision when I leave. He has every frame on the market to choose from. And there is never a rush to pick a frame. I've never been disappointed after leaving Pacific North Optical. After I fell down and broke my prescription glasses, he fixed them for free. I really appreciated that. Instead of tossing it out I came across Pacific Northwest Optical, Julian was able to find me a new frame almost exactly like the one I had broke. Do not go here! I had my vision prescription filled here and it came back with bifocals which were so small one could barely see out of them. They actually began to harm my vision. I took the glasses back after 2 months and the lenses were sent out again to get "blended" lens. After about a month and no call from the owner, I called. After no call back I went back having already found out they weren't at the business until late in the morning and then closed again for a long lunch. The owner then charged me an extra $80 for the blended lens. He had not mentioned this extra charge previously. This is not a very professional place at all. Find a different place. read more

Julian really knows his stuff. Did you know there are 600 types of progressive lenses and the most expensive (eg. Zeiss) aren't the best? That many less expensive lenses are superior? I didn't. If you are the typical consumer and you just buy brand name lenses and settle for whatever an optical store tells you is the best, then keep paying for the pretty store and overhead. Julian and his wife are truly real and down-to-earth. Other optical stores send your glasses to Julian when they can't do it themselves. Why pay the middleman? Go straight to the source and pay less. He can customize a lens to fit your needs. Don't be put off by the quirky decor; just buy your fancy frames somewhere else and bring them here to get great lenses and fitting. read more

Today I took my glasses into Pacific North Optical because I sat on my glasses, which bent my frames and popped-out one of the lenses. I was hoping the frames could be repaired and the lens reinstalled but was expecting to hear that they were ruined. After speaking with his delightful wife over the phone I went in. I had to wait for 10-15 minutes while Julian and his wife were helping a teenager get her first pair of glasses -- they were so patient and nice to her that I didn't mind waiting. When it was my turn, I handed over THREE pair of sunglasses to repair -- these are the only glasses that fit my face, so I needed to repair them versus buying new. In less than 5 minutes Julian had them good as new -- AMAZING! The repair charges were so low that I was embarrassed to accept the low cost, but I understand that he is trying to build good will and is willing to share his skill. Do NOT hesitate to go there.
