Well, what do you do when you have scratched your cornea, can't wear contacts for a couple weeks and your backup glasses are missing? You google for same day glasses . Unlike South Korea where you can have this done everywhere, it's hard to find in your backyard, or so I thought. Right in Downtown Martinez (Moving soon to the CVS center off Hwy 4), we were met by the owner Kevin who made the experience easy. Within 1 hour the glasses were picked from the nice selection, made and fitted. $199 for single vision prescription glasses made right on the premises. I really can't say enough about the great service, quick service and reasonable prices. We did not go with his least expensive options. Kevin is top tier. Not only is he patient and kind, but he is extremely knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time explaining how to interpret a prescription to me (I was curious). He also spent a lot of time troubleshooting my prescriptions and trying to sharpshoot precisely why my (valid) prescriptions were not working for me. He also is the only optician who can make your glasses same-day, often while you wait ! I've used Optical Divide when they were in their old location downtown Martinez, and now they're in a new location at 586 Center Ave in the CVS/Nob Hill shopping center. The store has a wide selection of frames, or as I did this time, you can reuse your old frames and just get new lenses. Kevin is very knowledgeable and will help figure out the best option for you. Pricing is very, very affordable. Kevin provides professional vision coaching for sore eyes to keep it simple. We agreed my old frames needed preciosity. These new progressive lenses and anti reflective with coating support my eyes no matter how long it's been since I've been fortunate enough to afford it. You can expect nothing less than top quality and less time spent waiting. Main Street has several great restaurants and shops open to the public. This one is for Kevin because he deserves so much respect for letting go of his bicycle because he was seriously injured in an accident. I typically wear contact lenses, but had to switch to glasses due to an eye infection. The 2 pair of glasses that I had on hand were old and the prescription in them was not current causing me to get a headache trying to use them. I needed new glasses fast! I called up Optical Divide and the owner coordinated with my eye doctor to get my current prescription. I brought down my old glasses and he replaced the lenses in them while I waited in less than half an hour! They are perfect... one pair for distance and one pair for computer work. So refreshing to find excellent customer service in this day and age! My new puppy ate my glasses while I slept on the couch . I looked on Yelp for reviews and I saw great reviews for the Optical Divide in Martinez. I sent a message and Kevin answered right away. I walked in the next day to a very warm welcome and he acknowledges everyone that walks in. He tried one or two things that weren't going to work . But he came up with several options! I had bought Gucci frames years ago and he was able to put new lenses in them in 2 days!!! So happy with his service, knowledge and follow through. I have been looking for someone who can put prescription lens' in frames that I already owned and Optical Divide did an AMAZING job!! I have a very high prescription and was hoping that I'd be able to find someone who could do them really well and he really delivered! I'm so excited at how good my glasses came out and can't wait to take more of my frames there! They were VERY affordable and had a very quick turnaround time! This place is Amazing!! Kevin, the owner is Awesome!! I haven't been able to wear sunglasses for a few years now and have been wanting to get a couple of my favorites turned into prescription but was hesitant about taking them into a optical place to be sent out. All work is done on site and very quickly!! I wear progressive (bifocals) and had my sunglasses in 2 days!!!! I highly recommend going to see Kevin for all your prescription needs!! If all stores provided customer service like Optical Divide the world would be a better place. My wife and I spent a good deal of money with another large fancy eyeglass store only to have one problem after another. Optical Divide took the time to repair some issues we had with several pair of glasses. They even ended up replacing several lenses that were done wrong by the other store. I'd only wish we found out about this store before hand. Certainly any further eye glass needs will be done here. They could not have been any nicer or pleasant to work with. They have a huge selection of frames and since I always have a hard time picking out new frames, the owners helped me choose the right ones. They were very patient, professional, and personable.
