What they accomplished for me was going from legally blind in one eye and severe astigmatisms in both eyes to almost perfect 20/30 and no astigmatism in one eye and only a mild astigmatism in the other. This was my first time going to this eye center and it was an amazing experience! Dr. Miller was my optician and he was very thorough. Everyone there was friendly (the assistant, the front desk receptionist, etc.) I was able to explain my vision issues to the doctor and got an explanation I could understand! TLDR: Dr. Prasad did not provide accurate care or appropriate testing to monitor and prevent my vision loss due to glaucoma. I AM NOW BLIND AND MY DAUGHTER HAS TO WRITE MY YELP REVIEW. Do NOT see Dr. Prasad. I was first diagnosed with glaucoma in 1992 and have been seeing a doctor for every 3-4 mos. In 2012 I was seen by Dr. Prasad the SUPPOSED "best glaucoma specialist". I trusted him. In 2022, I became LEGALLY BLIND During my years with Prasad I would take annual visual field tests to which he would then compare with my prior years. Over time, he no longer took time to review the tests with me. In September 2021, I took my routine visual field test (VF) during my visit. Haven taken many tests over the years, I knew I performed poorly on this one. I made a comment to Dr Prasad and he MERELY DISMISSED THE RESULTS WITHOUT REVIEW OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MY CONCERN. In February 2022, I emailed Dr Prasad and informed him I was losing vision in my right eye. He didn't see me until March 2022 and told me to take artificial drops in the meantime. During my March visit my eye pressure was very high resulting in VISION LOSS. I was referred to Dr. R for surgery because Prasad was booked. During the healing process done by Dr. R, he performed tests and then referred me to another specialist. This specialist then also performed surgery on me. During my time with these other specialists I was given more detailed visual field tests compared to the ones given by Prasad. Being familiarized with these other tests, I then realized that Prasad did not go to such lengths to care for his patient. After randomly going blind in one eye and being turned away from the ER for something they couldn't figure out, I went to Muir Eye care and was seen by Dr. Prasad who saw me as a last minute appointment. He dilated my pupils and was able to contact the ER and let them know what treatment I needed to get. Dr. Prasad is a top notch opthamologist with a stellar educational background. He listens very well and is responsive to your concerns. I needed an appointment right away for an eye issue I was having. After I wrote to him in an early evening, he got back to me at 9 pm that same night to let me know that he would make time for me the next day. Please read my testimonial: I have now reached out to ~3000 people with my story. Without Dr. Prasad, I would have been blind (within hours) in my left eye forever! Stay with me...it's a great story!!! In addition to Dr. Prasad's talent as a top ophthalmologist and surgeon, this is also a tribute to his networking capabilities and professionalism as a Glaucoma Specialist I was 46 years old when my symptoms began. (I'm just 50 now) Misdiagnosed headaches? Perhaps this will help you or someone you know identify glaucoma too. (My symptoms below) This is my story... I had been misdiagnosed as having severe "cluster headaches" for three years which affected my left eye socket. I suffered the most severe eye pain for a period of 22 hours, which fatefully led me to the ER. I was finally correctly diagnosed as having "Acute Closed Angle Glaucoma " by yet another angel in my life, ER doctor, Dr. Sprinkle, in Napa. There was no ophthalmologist on call in Napa that night with the laser necessary to perform the immediate iridotomy required to save my optic nerve. The ER was ready to transport me by ambulance (out of their network) to John Muir. By call of Dr. Sprinkle, Dr.Prasad was willing and able to intercept me but understood the urgency of my situation and called a past colleague on his cell. Dr. Row met us within 15 minutes and released the pressure of 60+ mm Hg (normal is 10-21 mm Hg). Then I saw Dr. Prasad. I agreed to have my other eye protected via iridotomy soon after. (Good advice! with the angle of my bad eye being at 10 degrees and my good eye being at 15 degrees). It was only a question of "when" it would happen to the other. My bad eye, however, (Yes, I was "completely cloudy blind"), required either a trabeculectomy (more invasive) and/or a goniosynechialysis to peel apart the layers of the eye and then remove scar tissue. Dr. Prasad did my surgery without ever hitting a single blood vessel, which he said was common with the procedure. Additionally, (in conjunction with the above), Dr. Prasad performed a cataract surgery which was highly successful. My last pressure measurement: 9 mm Hg (Wow! ...from +60 mm Hg) Thank you Dr. Prasad! I recall your laugh before surgery when you marked my forehead. I said "I will never wash my forehead again!" You are truly my "humble" Rockstar! Are you experiencing any of these symptoms? Here were mine: I was originally misdiagnosed as having cluster headaches instead of Closed Angle Glaucoma. Symptoms: *Pressure in the eye socket. *Sudden burning pain. *Eye would turn red and tear. *Sinuses affected. (Congestion) *Sudden and severe headache under eye. *Sensitivity to light. *Pupil was sometimes noticeably dilated. *Temporary blindness, like looking through fog or sometimes seeing only dark shadows. *Pain could disappear in 2 hours like nothing ever happened. *Later, started seeing haloes around white lights. *Frequency of attacks sometimes several x/week then could be gone for a month or more. *Progression: increased severity of pain, frequency, and duration. From the moment I arrived they outlined the steps showed me videos on cataract surgery and offered several options. Then the appointments were made for each eye four weeks apart. I noticed I had a very red eye one day after playing golf...and I thought the wind stirred up my allergies. I woke the next day with severe light sensitivity and pain in that eye. I saw my PCP who referred me to Dr. Prasad at Muir Eye Care. They couldn't get me in that day, but they made a late appointment for me the next day to fit me in, and he diagnosed me with Iritis. I got an Rx, and within an hour my symptoms were alleviated. It came back, but I jumped on it and saw Dr. Prasad who had a work up (blood tests, etc.) done, and while the results came back with a potential medical indicator, the Rheumatologist ruled out the concerns. Very professionally done! That being said, I appreciate the attention I received from all 3 Doctors there. They are all quite young (which is a good thing as many Doctors these days are retiring) and are eager to help. It's a busy office, but they genuinely care about the patient. My husband also had an eye issue, and was seen by them and had the same grateful attention in an "urgent" need basis too. I do have to say, I did have to get over the older office building that seems to be constantly changing due to their popularity and growth (good thing), and 99% of the staff are great. Zero star if it was an option. Waited 2.5 hours... 2.5 HOURSSSSS... checked in, waited 30 mins, then moved to another room, waited another 1 hr. Then dilated, waited again... Was seen only to be diagnosed w Migraine. I understand it was a last minute appt, but was NOT aware of how long the waiting period will take. NEVER returning to this office again! I have noticed this clinic dont just double book, they do multiple bookings at the same appt time. I have gone to an ophthalmologist every year for a check up for 72 years. He is the most unprepared MD I have ever meet. I promised myself after last year's lack of proper equipment, lack of skill in finding my eye prescription correctly, lack of time spent looking at my dilated eye. He told me last year I need to get my cataract taking out but I went to me regular Retina MD and he said not hurry, not bad. He tested me for glaucoma with a little hand held stupid tool. Other doctors have machines to do it. I will have to find a real ophthalmologist MD before next year. Oh, I desperatly need Rx for my dry eyes that are so dry I cannot open my eyes in the am. He handed me a bottle of eye drops. I told he I already use those eye drops and they do not work. He handed me another bottle. read more

Recently (getting older stinks) I have been suffering from the worst dry eye I have ever had, so Dr. Prasad suggested I try temporary Oasis plugs, they block one of my tear ducts and l don't wake up with my eyelid stuck to my eye - no medication - no drops! I was sceptical which is why we started with the temporary ones but now I want the permanent plugs and when I go back for my follow up I am getting them! Dr Prasad and Dr Miller are excellent. I'd had cataract surgery nearly two years ago. And surgery to try to correct "lazy" or "wall eye" last year. The first by my long term provider and the second by a specialist he referred me to. But my vision wasn't good even with prescription correction, in fact becoming worse than ever. And I lost what had been very good near vision in my left eye (from Lasik 20 years earlier) Meanwhile my significant other had cataract surgery by Prasad/Miller with superb results. She needs no glasses for reading, driving, etc. (age 76). And some sort of procedure to reduce eye pressure so she no longer has to use nightly drops. So I switched to them (also had moved so they are much more convenient). After describing description and some urgency with an upcoming trip with lots of driving and sightseeing, I got an appointment within days. Both doctors examined me and cross-checked with each other to diagnose the problem which was a cloudiness behind the cataract lens (this was Thursday or Friday) The fix is a laser procedure that clears up/eliminates the cloudy region. They did this on the left eye Monday. My vision cleared up quite a bit that day and improved in the days that followed. My medium and distant vision in that eye has improved to very good. (and I enjoyed the driving vacation to a tour in Death Valley with day and night driving). I return in a couple weeks for the right eye. In short, I'm delighted and very thankful for the very professional service and good outcome. I'll be back for more, and fully anticipate superb results based on both my results and my significant other's results. Both Drs are individually excellent and their willingness and ability to dynamically consult and cross check with each other is a dramatic improvement to most practices which rely on one physician to get it right, not miss anything, and optimize results. read more

I really like the staff and Dr. Prasad but when you have a 90 year old mother, it is just wrong to expect a 90 year old with low energy and stamina to wait 45 minutes before getting in to see an associate. Then she has to wait another 25 minutes while her eyes dilate, it takes all her energy. I will be transferring her to another physician where their appointments start on time . Dr. Prasad is the best ophthalmology physician I've ever seen and I've been to almost 4 other ophthalmologist in the area. His patient care is spectacular and is beyond any other physicians. I'm ecstatic that I found him!!! I didn't even know doctors as great as him are still around in this day of go-go-go world. So why is he great? Here's why, --Amount of time spent with patient. He literally spends an more than 30 minutes with you to discuss everything thoroughly to make sure you understand everything. He answered all my questions in details. He is NOT one of those doctors you hear about where they say a few words and kick you out of the office. Here, you actually get doctor-patient time. After all, I did pay for my visit AND I got what I actually paid for. --Detail oriented. I went to 4 other ophthalmologists for a rare eye condition and NONE of them were able to diagnose me. WAIT NO MORE, Dr. Prasad found my eye condition and gave me the appropriate medication. Within a couple weeks, my eye was great as new. Dr. Prasad spent a great deal of time looking at my eye under the microscope. I felt like he was actually inspecting my eyes unlike other ophthalmologist who seemed to do a half-effort checkup. --Great communication. Dr. Prasad speaks clearly, slowly and concisely. He follows-up with his own words and called me back when I had a question for him. --Great credentials. He completed his fellowship for glaucoma at Wills Eye Institute, which is the BEST in the business. It is obvious that he knows it ALL when it comes to the eyes and his sub-specialty, glaucoma. --Patient-oriented. He ALL about the patient. This means that he does what's best for the patients. He starts with the most simple treatment and approaches to more specialized treatment, if needed. Everything is patient first. If you don't want to use a particular ointment, fine, he'll prescribe you something else. If you didn't use your eye drops like he suggest, he understands and doesn't get on your back about it. -Personality. He is one of the kindest person in the world. He is compassionate and actually LISTENS to you w hen you talk. He doesn't cut you off in the middle of the sentence and actually wants you to tell him everything.
