I have been a patient of Dr. Prasad since 2013, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. As a military aviator, maintaining exceptional color vision, visual fields, optic nerve health, and overall eye health is critical to my career. Dr. Prasad has kept all of these in outstanding condition for over a decade. He is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and, more importantly, he is incredibly thorough and genuinely caring. I never feel rushed during my visits -- he always takes the time to listen and provide thoughtful care, never treating me like just another patient. Thank you, Dr. Prasad, and your entire team for your outstanding care and dedication! read more

I have been with Dr Prasad and his team for more than two years. They've treated me for cataracts and glaucoma. The care has been excellent and the staff has made each appointment a pleasure. Contact with either Dr Prasad or staff has always been easy and same day and, in this day and age, that is really remarkable! I don't hesitate to recommend them to friends. read more

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Dr. Prasad scheduled me for surgery and didn't check my medication before the surgery. There was a med that I needed to go off of 7 days before, found out a day before. Had to cancel my surgery because of the risk, thank god it was caught by another doctor. Also the front office doesn't return calls. After not getting a call back for two weeks and 3 left message I had to drive to the office. Horrible experience, found a new doctor, they said they get a lot of Prasad's patients. read more

Both my husband and I have always experienced the best professionalism and expertise with Dr Prasad and Dr Miller. Dr Prasad performed a delicate operation on my husband and after being nearsighted for all his life, he now sees without distance eyeglasses. So, pretty awesome. read more

I highly recommend Muir Eye Care. Muir Eye Care promptly returned my early-morning phone message and arranged a same-day appointment. Dr. Arun Prasad and his medical assistant, Dianna, using advanced diagnostic technology and drawing on his Dr. Prasad's extensive experience as an eye surgeon and ophthalmologist, enabled Dr. Prasad to quickly identify and confirm the issue and provided the necessary laser treatment within 48 hours. I am sincerely grateful for their prompt response, expertise, and exceptional care. Additionally, their facility was beautiful, modern and clean and further re-enforced their professionalism and care for their patients. read more

I had an excellent experience with Muir Eye Care. If there were 10 stars I would give it to Muir Eye care. Dr. Prasad is an outstanding ophthalmologist. Dr. Prasad is a doctor who is true to the attributes of a doctor - kind, caring, empathetic and generous with his time. I was out of town and needed an appointment on short notice, and Dr. Prasad was incredibly accommodating and was able to fit me in at the last minute. He is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology. He took the time to perform all the necessary testing and, most importantly, explained my results to me in detail. I really appreciated that he made sure I understood what the results meant and answered my questions. He also suggested a plan of action to solve my issue. Dr. Prasad and Dr. Miller worked as a team to make the investigation in my case full proof. Though it was a last-minute accommodation the care I received was exceptional. The staff was also very courteous and helpful throughout my visit. From the scheduling to the appointment itself, everyone was pleasant and professional. Muir Eye care is the one of the few ophthalmology practices to come across who has a combination of professionalism, subject matter expertise and compassion towards patients. I'm very grateful for the care I received and would definitely recommend Dr. Prasad, and the entire team at Muir Eye Care to anyone looking for excellent eye care. Swati K read more

I've been seeing Dr, Prasad for a few years now. His exams are always through, and he is wonderful about answering any questions I might have. His newish office is lovely, and easy to navigate even using a walker, and his staff are very professional and kind. Highly recommend him! read more

Not sure how to word this appropriately. The office is clean and the staff is efficient. However, my last appt. with Dr. Prasad was "interesting". I commented to Dr. P that I had to wait 2 hours. At this, Dr. P, not only got defensive, but I felt, personally insulted. I did not make an untrue statement. He was 2 hours late. I did have my eyes dilated, but had waited prior to this and after until I was seen. At this, he told me I was"Mean". I wasn't mean, I was honest as I pointed out, but he couldn't let it go. I apologized again as I realized he was taking this so personally, even telling me he has told his children not to become doctors due to people like me. Weird. At this, I apologized again for my statement of saying he was late and he went off on a tangent of "having done good surgery on me", yes he did. Cataract surgery. However this had nothing to do with being late. He said I couldn't say something like this and expect an apology was acceptable. He looked at my chart and said I had been coming to him since 2021. He could not drop this. He is a good doctor, however has run late consistently. I will be changing opthomologist as It was if I was at that point speaking to a spoiled child, not a professional doctor. read more

Dr Miller is very knowledgeable and kind. Spent time not only examining our (my husband and myself) eyes but explaining what was happening. Being a healthcare provider all my life I really appreciate his care. Dr Passan came at the end of our visit to introduce himself and double check Dr Miller's dx. Very good experience. read more

I saw Dr. Prasad, for cataract surgery. I would like to begin by noting that I am a healthcare provider and have been so for many decades. I am very particular about the quality of care that I receive. Dr. Prasad, and his team more than met my expectations. Indeed they exceeded them significantly. From the moment I entered the office I was greeted warmly to the tests and when necessary, duplicate tests when to ensure a perfect match the process went seamlessly. Dr. Prasad, showed considerable care and consideration, as did the rest of his staff. Dr. Prasad, and the staff answered my many questions and addressed any concerns I had in clear terms, and I never felt rushed when needing more information. I highly recommend this practice. read more

If you are searching for an efficient office with kind bedside manner, this is not the office for you. I took my mom here and after countless appointments and long wait times, they just couldn't get it together. Both doctors were below average. Doctors Prasad and Miller are both real experts in their fields. What they accomplished for me was going from legally blind in one eye and severe astigmatisms in both eyes to almost perfect 20/30 and no astigmatism in one eye and only a mild astigmatism in the other. Both Dr Prasad and Dr Miller take the time to explain every step of the procedures. They and their office staff are really nice people too. read more

I started going to Muir Eye Care for routine yearly eye check ups & and updated glasses prescriptions. From the first visit I felt comfortable with office personnel, technicians, & Drs. Prasad & Miller. Earlier this year (2024) it was evident that cataract surgery was in my near future. As with any surgery, eye surgery sounded a little un-nerving. Once I accepted that it needed to happen, I was provided written info, video's to watch in the office, and plenty of time to ask questions of the doctors. I felt prepared for success! I've had cataract surgeries in both eyes now & I really couldn't be happier with the results! I've been shown the same professionalism & care in my Post Op appointments that I received before the surgery. Thank you Muir Eye Care! I'm very grateful for ALL of you! Kimm Reed read more

Exceptional service by staff and Doctors. Dr. Pursaud listens to you and acts upon your concerns, including the staff. Very Happy patient.

This was my first time going to this eye center and it was an amazing experience! Dr. Miller was my optician and he was very thorough. Everyone there was friendly (the assistant, the front desk receptionist, etc.) I was able to explain my vision issues to the doctor and got an explanation I could understand! He went above and beyond in my opinion. He did a standard eye exam but he also checked into the overall health of the eye. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new place to try! read more

TLDR: Dr. Prasad did not provide accurate care or appropriate testing to monitor and prevent my vision loss due to glaucoma. I AM NOW BLIND AND MY DAUGHTER HAS TO WRITE MY YELP REVIEW. Do NOT see Dr. Prasad. I was first diagnosed with glaucoma in 1992 and have been seeing a doctor for every 3-4 mos. In 2012 I was seen by Dr. Prasad the SUPPOSED "best glaucoma specialist". I trusted him. In 2022, I became LEGALLY BLIND During my years with Prasad I would take annual visual field tests to which he would then compare with my prior years. Over time, he no longer took time to review the tests with me. In September 2021, I took my routine visual field test (VF) during my visit. Haven taken many tests over the years, I knew I performed poorly on this one. I made a comment to Dr Prasad and he MERELY DISMISSED THE RESULTS WITHOUT REVIEW OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MY CONCERN. In February 2022, I emailed Dr Prasad and informed him I was losing vision in my right eye. He didn't see me until March 2022 and told me to take artificial drops in the meantime. During my March visit my eye pressure was very high resulting in VISION LOSS. I was referred to Dr. R for surgery because Prasad was booked. During the healing process done by Dr. R, he performed tests and then referred me to another specialist. This specialist then also performed surgery on me. During my time with these other specialists I was given more detailed visual field tests compared to the ones given by Prasad. Being familiarized with these other tests, I then realized that Prasad did not go to such lengths to care for his patient. Dr. Prasad did not provide accurate care or appropriate testing to monitor and prevent my vision loss. read more

Muir eye care probably saved my eye sight and life. After randomly going blind in one eye and being turned away from the ER for something they couldn't figure out, I went to Muir Eye care and was seen by Dr. Prasad who saw me as a last minute appointment. He dilated my pupils and was able to contact the ER and let them know what treatment I needed to get. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and got quick treatment that restored my vision by the next day. Anytime I shared this story with my healthcare professional friends, they ALL rave about Dr. Prasad and the great care offered at Muir eye care. Thank you Muir Eye Care for all that you do! Had an urgent eye care need. Dr. Prasad's team found a late day appointment so that I could be seen right away. Turns out I was taking the wrong medication prescribed by a general practitioner. Dr. Prasad is a top notch opthamologist with a stellar educational background. He listens very well and is responsive to your concerns. I needed an appointment right away for an eye issue I was having. After I wrote to him in an early evening, he got back to me at 9 pm that same night to let me know that he would make time for me the next day. Please read my testimonial: I have now reached out to ~3000 people with my story. Without Dr. Prasad, I would have been blind (within hours) in my left eye forever! Stay with me...it's a great story!!! In addition to Dr. Prasad's talent as a top ophthalmologist and surgeon, this is also a tribute to his networking capabilities and professionalism as a Glaucoma Specialist I was 46 years old when my symptoms began. (I'm just 50 now) Misdiagnosed headaches? Perhaps this will help you or someone you know identify glaucoma too. (My symptoms below) This is my story... I had been misdiagnosed as having severe "cluster headaches" for three years which affected my left eye socket. I suffered the most severe eye pain for a period of 22 hours, which fatefully led me to the ER. I was finally correctly diagnosed as having "Acute Closed Angle Glaucoma " by yet another angel in my life, ER doctor, Dr. Sprinkle, in Napa. There was no ophthalmologist on call in Napa that night with the laser necessary to perform the immediate iridotomy required to save my optic nerve. The ER was ready to transport me by ambulance (out of their network) to John Muir. By call of Dr. Sprinkle, Dr.Prasad was willing and able to intercept me but understood the urgency of my situation and called a past colleague on his cell. Dr. Row met us within 15 minutes and released the pressure of 60+ mm Hg (normal is 10-21 mm Hg). Then I saw Dr. Prasad. I agreed to have my other eye protected via iridotomy soon after. (Good advice! with the angle of my bad eye being at 10 degrees and my good eye being at 15 degrees). It was only a question of "when" it would happen to the other. My bad eye, however, (Yes, I was "completely cloudy blind"), required either a trabeculectomy (more invasive) and/or a goniosynechialysis to peel apart the layers of the eye and then remove scar tissue. Dr. Prasad did my surgery without ever hitting a single blood vessel, which he said was common with the procedure. Additionally, (in conjunction with the above), Dr. Prasad performed a cataract surgery which was highly successful. My last pressure measurement: 9 mm Hg (Wow! ...from +60 mm Hg) Thank you Dr. Prasad! I recall your laugh before surgery when you marked my forehead. I said "I will never wash my forehead again!" You are truly my "humble" Rockstar! Are you experiencing any of these symptoms? Here were mine: I was originally misdiagnosed as having cluster headaches instead of Closed Angle Glaucoma. Symptoms: *Pressure in the eye socket. *Sudden burning pain. *Eye would turn red and tear. *Sinuses affected. (Congestion) *Sudden and severe headache under eye. *Sensitivity to light. *Pupil was sometimes noticeably dilated. *Temporary blindness, like looking through fog or sometimes seeing only dark shadows. *Pain could disappear in 2 hours like nothing ever happened. *Later, started seeing haloes around white lights. *Frequency of attacks sometimes several x/week then could be gone for a month or more. *Progression: increased severity of pain, frequency, and duration. I hope this information is helpful and I encourage you to see the Amazing Dr. Prasad! Hindsight is 20/20. read more

Why I am giving Muir Eye 5 stars. My overall experience with the doctors and staff was great. Dr Prash and staff provided excellent care and service. From the moment I arrived they outlined the steps showed me videos on cataract surgery and offered several options. Then the appointments were made for each eye four weeks apart. The surgeries were flawless and follow ups for each eye were the next day after surgery. I had a three month follow up appointment as well. I now have 20/20 vision. I highly recommend Muir Eye Care they are really great read more

I noticed I had a very red eye one day after playing golf...and I thought the wind stirred up my allergies. I woke the next day with severe light sensitivity and pain in that eye. I saw my PCP who referred me to Dr. Prasad at Muir Eye Care. They couldn't get me in that day, but they made a late appointment for me the next day to fit me in, and he diagnosed me with Iritis. I got an Rx, and within an hour my symptoms were alleviated. It came back, but I jumped on it and saw Dr. Prasad who had a work up (blood tests, etc.) done, and while the results came back with a potential medical indicator, the Rheumatologist ruled out the concerns. Very professionally done! That being said, I appreciate the attention I received from all 3 Doctors there. They are all quite young (which is a good thing as many Doctors these days are retiring) and are eager to help. It's a busy office, but they genuinely care about the patient. My husband also had an eye issue, and was seen by them and had the same grateful attention in an "urgent" need basis too. I do have to say, I did have to get over the older office building that seems to be constantly changing due to their popularity and growth (good thing), and 99% of the staff are great. I'll probably start using them for my optometrist needs (glasses) soon too. read more
