8/7/2025- Came into do the happy hour/ social menu.. Seated and given the menu but no social hour menu-.. Caught off guard- so went with the AyCE- Appetizers were decent- seaweed salad, cucumbers- miso soup - (needed to be hotter).. Salmon skin salad- nice presentation- had to ask for salad dressing?.. said it comes with an unagi dressing- but didn't see or taste it.. Salmon skin hand roll - meh-.. I think the rice seasoning was missing in the rice- Maguro-,nice color but kept sliding off the rice- The first roll was really good- dancing eel? Glad to try.. Other guests came in with the same social hour and ended up leaving.. Give em credit for trying-..

The restaurant was not busy. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and tasty. It was a quiet night with steady flow of customers dining in.

    Clam chowder

Fun little restaurant in the nugget in sparks, NV. Pretty delicious clam chowder served with a half of warm bread. The night I went, I sat at the bar and ordered and appetizer, specialty drink, and clam chowder. The ladies serving food were nice and very attentive. I would go back and get the clam chowder as part of their happy hour special. Definitely worth trying if you're staying at the hotel.

The decor is nautical and fun.

Decided to go to the cool new magic show at the Nugget and wanted to eat in at the casino. This place has been around for quite some time and gave it a try. We enjoyed the jambalaya and the very rich mixed seafood pan roast. The bread is awesome at this place as well as the oysters which were very good. We enjoyed a reasonably priced wine and good service. The atmosphere is a little older but fitting for the inside of a pirate ship and didn't detract from our fun meal. I will go back for more oysters! Glad we went.

Came for the Happy Hour but it changed on the Friday before. Now its a sushi and oyster bar. Had the AYCE and was good not exceptional. The miso soup was not hot but the sushi rolls were decent. The salmon skin salad was different but we had to ask for the dressing. Service was good but the area is not very large. Check it out.

Chose the Oyster Bar for Friday lunch after searching for the new Legends OysterBar and stumbing upon the Nugget Oyster Bar. The pics looked fun and the menu had the raw bar we were looking for, so we stopped in. Not very busy and seated right away. Staff followed closely with water and menus. Service was great thru out lunch. We ordered a dozen oysters -- Blue Points that were some of the meatiest we have ever had. Excellent! Both my husband and I ordered the Fisherman's Combo. The fries are forgettable, but the seafood was terrific - and just the right portion for lunch. The calamari was thick-cut strips, the shrimp were small but tasty, and the cod pieces had the best batter. Only knock is the beer selection - no drafts and the menu listing was inaccurate as to the bottles available. Wine selection was great -- three choices for reisling -- and the pour was heavy. We will certainly retunr to try other menu items.

We were really excited to come here before the comedy show, but unfortunately we were far from impressed. The restaurant was basically like being inside a shop which was cool. The service was awkward at best. Our server (Donna) seemed a bit all over the place. Maybe overwhelmed? We ordered the crab cake nuggets that come with remoulade sauce and lemon. The basket came out with French fries too. However, there was no remoulade sauce and we had to ask for lemon. When our server returned we asked about both and she was confused. She didn't even know what the sauce was that we asked about so she went to check only to comeback and say it's a new item on the menu and we don't have that sauce yet, but offered us tarter sauce. We also ordered a Caesar salad and a house salad. The Caesar salad seemed fine, but the house salad was lackluster and tasted like the American salad mix you get at a local grocery store. We were told the French fries were not frozen and beer battered then cooked, but rather fresh cut with some skin still showing and really taste like potatoes. The shrimp étouffée was not great...it wasn't really an étouffée. Let's just say New Orleans would be very disappointed. We also had a lobster roll. I'm sad to report it was not good. It was extremely salty. I even put lemon on it in hopes it would help but all I could taste was salt. I only had a couple bites and tried to keep eating but couldn't. Thankfully they removed it from our bill. We did order some clam chowder, which was the saving grace for the meal. We will not be in a rush to return.

Ask the Community - Oyster Bar

Do I need a reservation if I want to eat here for lunch or dinner?

The answer is technically no, however, we just went there two nights ago and they were turning people away that did not have reservations as they were full. Ironically, we made the reservations 20 minutes before we left through the dining app link… Read more

Brunch is all day on Sundays however they do have a lunch menu starting at 12pm, so we ordered from each menu. The ahi nachos were great, thick pieces of tuna and a great sauce drizzled over. The Mushroom Lover's Omelette was fluffy and had a LOT of gruyere. The potatoes it came with were herbaceous and very well fried. When we arrived, every table was full, so we grabbed seats at the bar. It turned out to be a great spot to watch the bartenders create beautiful drinks, including some of their signature cocktails served in a glass purse for parties of two or more. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with groups celebrating birthdays and other special occasions. After looking over the menu, we decided on the lox crostini bites and the bruschetta. We each ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I added a chocolate rim to mine, which was fun to look at, although it didn't add much flavor. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching the flowing chocolate waterfall. Considering how busy the bar was, our food arrived quickly. The crostini were crisp, and both appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only drawback was the volume of the DJ, but we knew what to expect as soon as we walked through the door. This is definitely a fun place for parties and groups looking for a lively night out. One last observation: I probably wouldn't choose this spot for a group of men. The décor and overall vibe are very much geared toward women, but the name says it all.

The owners are absolutely amazing people, and the food is consistently fantastic. If you go, you have to try the Steam Bites, they are my absolute favorite! They're delicious, tangy little bites of joy that are always cooked to perfection (pro-tip: you can also get this as a pizza!). The wine selection is phenomenal. Whether you prefer dry or sweet, they have something you'll love. They brought on a winemaker a while back, and the payoff has been huge, they just took home bronze, silver, and gold at a recent blind tasting wine competition! Incredible food, award-winning wine, and wonderful owners. Highly recommend!

Their menu was nicely varied while not overwhelming in size. We shared: Marcona Almonds, "The worlds best tasting almonds. Roasted with sea salt and olive oil." Margherita, "a 12" Cauliflower crust with a southwest chipotle pesto sauce topped with roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil." A Barbera, a Riesling and a Margarita made with their blackberry wine. We don't know about parking as we all took the RTC FlexRIDE public bus ($1.50 per person for an all day pass) to Centennial Bus Plaza then walked the one-third mile to here, and then back. Here we had a welcome respite until an owner injected Republican politics into our visit...which ruined it for us, who are not Republicans. As of April 2026, the political party demographics in Nevada are approximately 27.2% Democratic, 26.8% Republican and 39.4% Nonpartisan/Independent. In Washoe County, Nevada, registered Democrats made up about 35% of voters, Republicans about 32%, and independents/other about 33%. I rate 'em 2 stars for the Republican politics shared by an owner which ruined it all for me. I then added another review star for their having a Military / Veterans Discount. Their having a Military / Veterans Discount was why we were there as we only support businesses that support we Veterans with a Veterans Discount. In this case, I won't be back because I wasn't there to hear politics. P.S. Don't message me because in spite of my several complaints to yelp, for years now I am unable to open up any messages in yelp to me.

The long tables lined with bottles feel almost like a curated gallery, and the garage-style doors let in natural light that makes the whole place feel alive without being loud or overwhelming. What really stands out is how intentional everything feels, especially the wine list. It is handwritten on a large chalkboard, which gives it a relaxed, neighborhood vibe, but the selection is thoughtful and globally inspired. You will find a mix of Old World staples and boutique producers alongside well-chosen California options. The list includes everything from crisp Picpoul and Bordeaux Blanc blends to approachable Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with more unique offerings like Loire Valley blends and Spanish varietals that show they are not just playing it safe. The pricing is another highlight. Most glasses land in the $9 to $15 range, which feels more than fair for the quality. They even offer a carafe option, about two and a half glasses, which is perfect for sharing and encourages you to settle in and enjoy the experience rather than rush through it. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a wine bar. It is relaxed, conversational, and effortlessly refined. It is the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, go on a date, or simply unwind and end up staying longer than you planned. What truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Kate. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely warm in her approach. She made thoughtful recommendations, checked in at the right moments, and created an experience that felt personal rather than transactional. It is clear she cares about what she does, and it made a great environment feel even better. Black Rock Wine Co is not trying too hard, and that is exactly why it works. It is curated, welcoming, and just the right level of elevated. We will absolutely be back.
