This restaurant was located in the same building where we stayed during our visit to Dallas for the Winter Classic. We are there twice. The first time we ordered the Easy Living dish- 2 eggs, meat of choice, fried potatoes and toast, and the Short Rib hash. The Easy Living dish was adequate but overpriced. The Short Rib hash was flavorful. The second time we ordered the buttermilk pancakes with a side of crispy bacon and the Reuben sandwich. The pancakes were fluffy and huge! The Reuben was piled high with meat and kraut. The fries were pretty good too. The first day the place was full with customers seated, picking up to go orders and several waiting to be seated. The second day we walked right in, and were seated quickly. Food is made fresh to order so we only had to wait the amount of time it takes to cook quality food. It is a hotel restaurant so be prepared to spend $50 for 3 people to a full meal. read more

Ordered buttermilk pancakes, brisket hash and deviled eggs. Food was average but good. Service was poor. Very slow and unhelpful. Food came out incorrect and missing items. read more

Awesome service, amazing coffees/cocktails and sinfully delicious pancakes and biscuits! Perfect place to shake off the night before and get back to your old self! Can never go wrong with some tasty biscuits! High recco! read more

For the price of the food, the food was not delicious at all. I had the chicken and biscuits. The gravy seemed to taste like it was days old and the chicken was flavorless. read more

Service was friendly and fast! I had the corn-beef hash be ready for a ton of food I would recommend sharing

My wife and I love the new menu. Coffee is fantastic, service is great and the entire restaurant is spotless.

We are visiting Dallas and found this place by our hotel. Great ambiance and friendly staff. The place is set up like an old diner and was definitely busy. I had the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were amazing and each one had a homemade sausage patty on top. Excellent. My wife had the avocado toast, a vegan favorite. We split some pancakes also. They were big and fluffy with homemade syrup. The prices here were very reasonable also. Overall it was a really good experience and we would definitely come back. read more

I've been waiting for years for this Dallas landmark to be revived, and I can tell you I'm not disappointed. The hotel is a perfectly restored bit of groovy history, and this place contributes in a big way. The cost is extremely reasonable, and the food is solid. It's a perfect blend of the current craft food movement and a beautifully articulated retro diner. It's luxury without pretension. The deviled egg flight was surprisingly good, the kale salad was healthy but filling, and the chicken tender biscuits are a thing I will dream about. read more

We attended Sunday brunch on 10/13/19. When we first walked in, around 11 am, the place looked at capacity. Although it took the hostess about 7 min to attend us, she was very polite and told us that our wait time would be roughly 10 minutes. After 15 minutes passed, I asked her on the status of our table and told us that we couldn't be seated for another 20 minutes - since the kitchen was backed up. This was odd to us because the restaurant was starting to have open tables left and right. Due to a time constraint, we had to order our food at the cafe and eat in the cafe/waiting area. Upon placing the order, roughly 5 min after the server told us the increase in wait time, our hostess told us that we could be seated. We asked if she could take our paid orders from the cafe to the restaurant- this request was shut down by her manager. The food was great! Me and my friends ordered the avocado toast, chilaquiles, chicken & biscuits, and the Ruben sandwich. We were very pleased with the food, and were very surprised to see how fast it was prepared given that the kitchen was allegedly "backed up" . I'd like to go back again and see if this restaurant can provide service that is as good as their food. read more

Great brunch spot! Red is an awesome waitress. I got the chicken tender biscuits and they were good. They were out of the hash bombs both times I went which I was disappointed about. Overall fun atmosphere, but could use a few more food options, maybe french toast and more pancake options. read more

Had dinner on a Wednesday. We might have been one of about three tables. Guess with so many options better places togo. It's an all day type of menu format so very very limited on dinner options. I'd suggest going elsewhere unless you are OK with limited. (I do like the coolness of breakfast still available if I wanted) The deviled eggs need work. I love that deviled eggs are showing back up on menus everywhere, but, these aren't so great. I did have a good Muffaletta sandwich though. It ya want super simple with average service then check it out read more

Terrible terrible food. I ordered the chicken biscuits the chicken was burnt and the honey butter was so nasty I couldn't eat the biscuits. My husband eggs and my eggs were over cooked. The husbands sausage biscuits were terrible he only ate the biscuits couldn't eat the sausage. read more

So much fun! Part of the perfect mid-century modern renovation of the Statler Hotel. You will be transported back in time. Great food and staff. Thanks Derek! read more

Food was bland, came out room temperature. Service was incredibly slow and passive aggressive for simple requests like salt and pepper.

I went to this place over the summer for an early dinner with my family before a concert & haven't been back since. There is a waiter who works there with red hair and zero manners or professionalism. He took long enough to arrive at our table & when we finally did get our drinks, he gave us paper-wrapped straws but the paper on the bottom half of the straws was brown and crumpled and dried, like it had been sitting in a wet apron or puddle of liquid and then dried. We pointed the straws out to the hostess (since no one else paid attention to our table, including the waiter) and we asked for new straws. She brought us our straws & let the waiter know. We watched & could tell he was angry about the straws because he rolled his eyes and began spewing off about how there was nothing wrong with the disgusting straws & then he went to the kitchen and didn't return for a while. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which tasted awful. The server never came around to ask how the drink was, nor did he come to see if the food was okay, nor did he offer anyone refills on water/soft drinks. Let me emphasize THE PLACE WAS EMPTY other than staff and one other table of two, who looked to be paid out. When he finally came around with the bill, I mentioned I didn't take a sip of my Bloody Mary and that he never came around to see if I liked it so I didn't have the chance to return it. He argued with me and said he already charged my dad's credit card and the transaction couldn't be undone. As someone who has waited tables for years, I called him on his bs and asked him to get his manager. He was super argumentative and had an attitude. He reluctantly went to retrieve him or/her but he took so long that we just decided to leave. Long story short, this place is lacking in everything including basic service. Having waited tables myself for years, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this guy left a terrible taste in my mouth. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Best breakfast I've had in years. We stayed at The Statler for the weekend, ate at Overeasy each morning. Delicious delicious delicious. The brisket hash was phenomenal as were their pastries and cocktails. Definitely recommend! read more

Make sure to have the burrata! This is food done with love and care. I also love that this hotel is redone and open. Easy valet parking and relaxed vibe in a great atmosphere. I would brunch here just as easily as have a date night. read more

I just had the best chilaquiles ever! This is not your typical diner. The room has the nostalgic feel of a diner but has a beautiful mid century modern decor. The menu had light and heavier, greasy spoon options. Definitely will return! read more

Pros: Superb. Excellent recipes. Got their atmosphere down on the first try. The staff is pretty congruent for being a new restaurant. Needs Improvement: Either choose a coffee roast more palatable to a wider range or or have more coffee selection. The americano was good. Conclusion: My new downtown breakfast spot read more

Great breakfast spot! The perfect omelette lived up to its name. Simple fresh ingredients and excellently cooked! The bacon was crisp and delicious and the coffee was great too. The server was prompt, communicative, knowledgeable, and friendly. Well done, Dallas! read more

Eh, no. The atmosphere and location are nice but had I not had $15 to spend here, I don't think I would've paid for my meal. I was flying solo and got shoved between to larger men at the 'bar' in front of the open kitchen. I had been eyeing up the avocado toast on the menu all weekend and was really looking forward to it! Besides waiting almost 10 minutes to be addressed, the waiter was nice. Never checked in on my meal, didn't even drop it off, just dropped me a check at the end. I ordered one over easy egg and the avocado toast. I got two eggs- which I'm not complaining about but they were disgusting. You could tell they sat under a heat lamp because there was a ''skin" on top of the yolk and they were overcooked- not runny- just snot-like under the skin. Disgusting and cold. My avocado toast was ice cold. Even the toast. It was soggy and honestly just not good. I didn't eat it all. Perhaps if I had had a few of those tomatillo bloody marys I would've enjoyed the food... it was really just gross and not what I wanted or was hoping for. There are too many other places nearby that I wouldn't stop here again. read more

Phenomenal food, drinks, customer service & the entire hotel and restaurants here are absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant and hotel to everyone coming to Dallas. read more

So far I've been once for dinner and had the catfish with hush puppies which was really, really good and then returned with my family for brunch. Had the appropriately named "perfect omelet" which was delicious, the biscuits were amazing and the dining room itself is really nice. Open and airy with the attached cafe/coffee bar ... Wait staff was very friendly and helpful and I would defiantly recommend it for brunch or dinner and will return again. read more

Best pancakes, grilled cheese and biscuits! Fun atmosphere! Good service! Staying at The Statler and will be back a few more times at least.

Literally went here cus of the location in downtown, nice view, next to the park etc. personally think anyone I know can cook a better breakfast. The potatoes weren't cooked, switched them out for the hash bombs which were even worse. I hate restaurants where you have to bother your waiter EVERY minute. "Can I have some more syrup, can we have salt and pepper, do you have hot sauce, do you have napkins" like omg no. Food wasn't good, not worth it at all. Disappointment :( read more

Food was amazing but our server, Derek, was even more amazing and attentive. Hands down the best service. Would go back just to see him! Overeasy is lucky to have him. read more

Had Mother's Day brunch at Overeasy yesterday. Had the best waiter ever - Derek. He was so attentive and treated my kids with such respect. Couldn't have had a better brunch - he made sure our food was perfect and we loved our interaction with him. We will be back again whenever he is working. read more

Really great food! Try the deviled egg flight. My only complaint was my Bloody Mary wasn't strong enough.

Selena at Over Easy is the worst person I have every encountered. My boyfriend came in to get a cup of coffee with our service animal as he has done in the past and Selena discrimated towards him and our pet not allowing them to be there despite our pet being a certified service animal and her reasoning was because our pet was not performing any service animal "tricks" for him. She did not ask for any type of identification, and told them to leave immediately. I had a conversation with Selena and she stated that my boyfriend did not have a physical disability that she could "visibly" see which I stated to her that it is very illegal to judge someone on their outer appearance. Everything that SELENA demonstrated has broken all Fair Housing Laws and ADA LAWS. I asked SELENA if I may speak with a manager and she yelled at me saying, "she will not get fired, nor could I speak with one!" BEWARE OF THE DISCRIMINATION OF SELENA AND THE STAFF AT OVER EASY AND THE STATLER, BUT YET THEY ALLOW LLAMAS IN THE BUILDING TO PERFORM NO TYPE OF SERVICE TO ANYONE. read more

This place rocks. I ate on the patio in the morning and loved it. The pancakes were fluffy and the parfait was fresh. The street noise was really loud but I guess that's what you get eating outside. My hubby got the hash and it really good and hardy. read more

No flavor.. super nasty food... they serve it cold... dont waste your money go to mcdonalds or corner bakery...

I'm giving this a 4 because we loved the restaurant and see its potential. However I'm writing this review to warn those restaurant goers who require perfection that it's a tad too early. The menu looks wonderful! But the service is needing to get the kinks worked out. We went on Sunday at about 1pm. We sat at the bar so we had a wonderful time watching the dishes being prepared which made up for the very slow service and lack of juice or bloody mary mix. We had the Deviled Eggs variety. It was good for a one-time item but I wouldn't make it my go-to there. It's also difficult to share since there are 5 half-eggs with 5 different varieties. My husband had simple scrambled eggs, pork sausage and crispy bacon. Unfortunately the eggs were a tad runny, the bacon was not done (we asked for crispy bacon) and the sausage was pink (we later found out that they use a salt that makes it pink--for sausage we're not fans of that style since as you can tell we like our food--except for steaks--to be fully cooked). We told the person dropping off that we'd gladly pay for another side of CRISPY bacon and could we have a side of gravy. That never showed up. Our server apologized when he came to get our plates and by this time we really had to leave so we didn't wait. I normally don't air these complains on yelp but unfortunately there is no place that I can find on the Statler website to write comments to management. Again--please go there--try it out! It has great potential! But beware that you may have to be a little less picky on the service right now. read more

Food was greasy. Service was terrible. Took forever to get our food and then it was lukewarm.

Foods ok but portion is small devils egg is the best part here. Overall it was ok and the atmosphere is nice.

Pretty sure this is my new favorite restaurant in Dallas. Went here with a friend for brunch during the week and my god everything was so amazing down to the pickle they served with your sandwich. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend the grilled cheese with BLT soup. We already have plans to come back later this week! read more

We had a great meal this morning after spending the evening at the Statler. The coffee was rich and flavorful which is critical to me. My wife had the eggs with sausage...seems simple but was made special because it was perfectly prepared. The brisket hash was a pleasant surprise. Very fresh and delicious. The brisket tasted like it had been expertly smoked. Finally, the biscuits were wonderful...somewhat light and flaky but rich with flavor. read more

We've been waiting over an hour, 30 min for a table and 30 min for a Bloody Mary and margarita. This place is a disaster - service is beyond disorganized and slow. Don't come here hungry or hungover, it will only make you angry. Hire more staff and get your sh*t together! read more

What a horrible experience! We waited 45 minutes for a table, not an issue all things considered... We were finally seated, it was very hot and humid. I asked the waitress if their AC wasn't working and she indicated that she couldn't even tell, even though everyone at my table was considerably hot! We waited 15 minutes for a mimosa, and then 25 minutes for our food to finally arrive. One bite and my potatoes were cold!! Then everyone else had the same issue with their food being cold. The butter didn't even melt on the pancakes! I had to flag down a manager cause the server didn't come back to the table and check to see if everything was ok. Manager apologized and I asked her to take care of the bill, there wasn't a thing they could do since we were all starving! Lastly since it was pretty muggy inside we drank a lot of water and went empty on several occasions! We decided to grab the water pitcher off of their service station and top ourselves off 3 times!!!! Our server at one point just watched us as we did it! I.... don't..... understand....how.... this..... happened!! The staff needs to be retrained on basic service 101. I am grouping all the service staff since nobody stepped in to assist in refilling waters, where's the teamwork? read more
