My friend and I went to Luna Roja before heading to a Stars game. We strolled into the restaurant around 5:30pm, which was just in time for happy hour that ended at 7pm. We were seated indoor by the bar. Really colorful and inviting spot especially if you pass it from the sidewalk. Staff members were very friendly and attentive. Also a plus that our food came out fast. We ordered a couple of Palomas to start. I suppose our server didn't hear us when we placed an order for 2 of them, because the bartender only brought 1 to the table. My Paloma was very sweet, and I felt that I didn't taste much of alcohol. My friend thought the same, so we ordered Cadillac Margs the next round. These were much better. We got guac for the table, which also came with salsa. Enjoyed both dips, and their house chips tasted freshly made. My friend ordered vampiro tacos with carne asada, and I got a carne asada quesadilla. Everything was tasty and flavorful. Appreciated that they did not skimp on the meat. read more

David and Damien were great. The chips were fresh along with the salsa. The queso pardido was far less fondue and just extremely thick like poorly melted cheese. The strawberry margarita was sweet, and I waited so long for my second margarita I definitely to cancel it because I wouldn't have enough time to enjoy it before I had to drive home. Love the free valet parking through the hotel (it's on the back side of the building). The decor is nice, cozy vibes with low lights. I believe they had minimal staff which led to many delays for our table of 6. Damien was funny and kind as he double checked our food has he brought it out. David was new, so still getting the ropes, but he did everything with a smile and was kind. The guacamole was pretty on presentation but lacked flavor. read more

I was greeted warmly upon entering the restaurant but the service itself was mediocre. I ordered the sausage biscuits and gravy for $15 and added the $6 side of bacon. The biscuits and gravy were very sad, hardly any sausage and salty. The bacon was tasty. I am disappointed that this was my last meal in Dallas and wouldn't go back but maybe lunch and dinner are more impressive. read more

Great service, food and drinks!! Ambiance is very chill as well. Would definitely recommend. Johnathan was awesome!

What a great place with a beautiful design. During my stay at the adjoining Hilton I took the opportunity to sample Happy Hour, Dinner and a few Breakfasts. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Anna and JT in the morning and Kat, a visiting hospitality manager in the evenings with Shane at the bar. Food is very well presented and beautifully served. 3 breakfasts for me; Huevos Ranchos, Breakfast Tacos and an Omelette. All fresh and delicious. For dinner I had the Acho Glazed Short-ribs which were fall apart tender and wonderfully sauced. Really great dish at a very nice establishment. read more

Luna Roja has a fun, lively atmosphere with a casual modern-Mexican vibe that works well for dinner and drinks downtown. The space feels energetic without being overly fancy, making it a good spot for a laid-back night out with friends. We started with the queso and street corn for appetizers. The street corn was definitely my favorite -- flavorful, creamy, and easily the standout starter. For the main course, I ordered the carne asada. The flavors were really good, but the steak itself was a little chewy. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. We had the churro doughnut balls and the tres leches, and both were excellent. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely save room for dessert here. Overall, a great downtown Dallas spot with good flavors, fun vibes, and desserts that stood out more than the mains. Happy hour (4pm-7pm) read more

While I was traveling in Dallas , I didn't really find many places ( options) for breakfast/ brunch so I decided to come to this place the door where address took me was closed it says enter on side door but was also locked . Fortunately one of the house keeper of the hotel next to it open for us , Only 2 other clients and while I was there I saw another couple trying to get in by door that says use side door . And they just left since it was closed . Personal need to put more attention to this . Food as good . I would come back even tho service was some how between poor and acceptable The place looks nice and it's comfortable and I believe it could use more and better customer Service ! read more

We had a party of 7 everyone's food came out but mine. My food got here after my entire party was done eating. This is one of the worst dinning experiences I have had. I will say that our server was really nice, Jennifer. Our gratuity was included and I dont mind leaving a good tip however, when my food is the last to arrive after our party had finished their meaI I don't believe gratuity should have been included in my total. The food was delicious however, the service was not. Therefore, our party is reluctant to return. read more

My friend and I went to Luna Roja for brunch this weekend. The ambience was very warm and sophisticated. We had excellent service from our server Johnathon. Johnathon was very attentive and when we explained that we would be splitting two entrées, he let the kitchen know of our plan and asked them to equally split the entrées between two plates so that we wouldn't have to separate it at the table. This was kind and made diving right into brunch that much easier. The chilequiles were delicious. Luna Roja's salsas were tasty and added the right flavors to each dish. The Tres Leches French toast was a delicious sweet breakfast treat. The margarita and mimosa we had were amazing. I would definitely come back! Complementary valet was a great perk! read more

My wife and daughter took me to Luna Roja for Father's Day this past weekend and it was a great experience. The restaurant was decorated nicely and very clean and organized. The service we received from Mia was amazing and very professional. She knew the menu from front to back and gave us great recommendations for all 3 courses. We started with a crispy pork belly and shrimp appetizer that was second to none. The other appetizer was a shrimp, scallop and radish salad. This was another home run dish. For dinner I had the seafood enchiladas and it was also. Can't say enough about about the whole experience. The manager was stopping by for quick conversations and making sure we were taken care of. Thank you Luna Roja for a great Father's Day celebration. read more

Stellar Service from Shane, Masterful Margaritas, and Fantastic Seafood! We visited Luna Roja while staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown on a recent business trip to Dallas, TX, and our experience was elevated entirely by our incredible bartender, Shane. (A huge shoutout to the Hilton, too! The restaurant entrance is conveniently accessible right through the hotel, which made our evening wonderfully easy!) Not only was Shane welcoming and attentive, but he is a master behind the bar. He mixed an absolutely delicious jalapeño margarita, it had the perfect balance of spice and citrus, beautifully presented with a colorful half-salt, half-Tajín rim (which he ad-libbed after hearing me mention to my husband that I missed the Southwestern Tajín taste!). Beyond his mixology skills, Shane was a fantastic guide through the menu. We trusted him to steer our appetizer and meal selections, and his recommendations were spot-on. My husband ordered the fish tacos and absolutely loved them, while I opted for the Enchiladas de Mariscos. The seafood in the enchiladas was cooked to perfection and packed with rich, vibrant flavors. If you are dining at Luna Roja, or staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, do yourself a favor: grab a seat at the bar, ask for Shane, order the jalapeño margarita, and trust his recommendations. We can't wait to come back! read more
