This was one of those Italian restaurants where every course was consistently good. It's also my favorite Italian restaurant in Dallas. We started with the Caprese, which was incredibly fresh and simple. The tomatoes were ripe, the mozzarella was creamy, and the olive oil really stood out. For mains, we had the chef's special Orecchiette with Italian sausage and broccoli, along with the Linguine Pesto with chicken. The orecchiette was the highlight of the meal--I usually don't enjoy broccoli, but I ate every bite because it paired so well with the sausage and pasta. Our server recommended the linguine pesto, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy, and the pesto tasted fresh without being too heavy. We finished with the lemon cake and Italian cream cake. Both were soft, moist, and full of flavor, but the lemon cake was the clear winner for me. I'd happily come back just for another slice. If you're into spritzes, this is definitely the place to visit. They have an entire spritz menu featuring classics like the Aperol, Hugo, and Limoncello Spritz etc. Great food, fresh ingredients, and excellent recommendations from our server made for a wonderful meal. The food was pretty alright, my partner mentioned she thought the pasta she makes at home tasted better which is sad for such a supposed authentic Italian restaurant. We were given the bartender as our waiter even though we were seated at a table we had reservations for and he never came to check on us once other than to take our food and beverage order. We had to get the attention of another waiter in order to get our bill. We also had to ask the hostess if we could get the free bread service all the other tables were receiving otherwise we never would have gotten it. We were never offered fresh parmesan for our pasta like the other servers were offering their guests. We never got refills for our water, they were empty halfway through our meal, and ironically we were never offered another round of cocktails even though our waiter was the bartender. It wasn't busy, but our meal took a very long time, other tables that came in after us had already finished and left before we were even finished with our entrees. It was disappointing given how nice of a restaurant this was supposed to be and the price we paid for the service we received. The staff did not seem very warm and friendly. Atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty cramped and hot. Disappointed since we had such high expectations. I am also surprised to see how the staff responds to their reviews on Google. Instead of taking ownership, they instead turn to being defensive and deflecting the blame. Their attitude online is a reflection of their service at the restaurant. Please do better. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience tonight, especially because I had recommended Pane Nostro to my guests. The biggest issue was the temperature inside the restaurant. It had to be close to 85 degrees, and diners throughout the restaurant were visibly sweating. We certainly were. A couple of fans were running, but they made little difference. I was so uncomfortable that I sweated through my dress and now have to have it dry cleaned. If a restaurant cannot maintain a reasonably comfortable indoor temperature, it shouldn't be open for service. It's simply unfair to customers who are paying for an enjoyable dining experience. The food was fine, and our service was friendly, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, neither could make up for how unbearably hot the restaurant was. I was embarrassed that I had suggested this restaurant, and I won't be returning. read more

My friend and I walked in and immediately were greeted and sat so quickly even while they were busy. I enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant so much it was such a personal environment and truly a well coursed out meal. The WORST $30 pasta I've ever had My group dined at Pane Nostro Ristorante on Saturday evening (5/23) on the patio under Order #34. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. We were at the restaurant for over two hours, the service was poor, and multiple pasta dishes were severely overcooked/soggy. After bringing this to staff's attention, we only received a small $4.20 discount despite several dishes being affected. Calling this pasta al dente is honestly very far off. This is some of the worst pasta that I've eaten out and for $35 it was disappointing. More concerning, we later realized a 20% service charge ($43.16) had automatically been added to the bill even though your stated policy says automatic gratuity applies only to parties of 6 or more. Our party consisted of 5 guests And one of the guests joined late and only had a drink. Because we did not realize the service charge had already been added, we also left an additional $40 cash tip for the server. Had we known gratuity was already included, we would not have done so, especially given the quality of the experience. We are requesting reimbursement of the automatic gratuity charge, as it appears to have been applied incorrectly based on your stated policy. Update: I tried to charge back the $43 service fee and the merchant responded and said "we didn't try to take it off there" so they are not taking it off. Overall, I wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is really cute and inviting, and the service was genuinely friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the price. We ordered the lamb rare, but it came out closer to medium-well. It also had a noticeable gamey aftertaste, which was disappointing, especially for a dish that cost around $60. The pasta dishes we ordered were also lacking flavor and felt very simple--honestly, they tasted like something we could have made at home. We also ordered dessert, and while we were looking forward to it, the cake reminded us of a basic grocery store sheet cake rather than a restaurant-quality dessert. By the end of the meal, the total bill just didn't feel justified by the quality of the food. Absolutely delightful! I did a Yelp search to find an Italian place in this area to celebrate one of my best friend's birthday and stumbled across this restaurant. This is definitely a place to check out. I had a decaf cappuccino and the salmon. It was delicious and the salmon cooked perfectly. My friend got the chicken piccata and it looked amazing. He loved it. We were too full to order dessert but the selection looked so good. The restaurant is in a renovated house and I always love to see that. It is wonderful when places keep the structure and the bones to give the space history. Cute decor too. Service here was also amazing. Delightful in every aspect! This charming restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a light and airy atmosphere that gives a sense of spaciousness. Although the actual space is small and the tables are somewhat close together, it never felt cramped. We took the server's recommendation and started with the Rice Balls, which are shaped more like cones. They weren't particularly savory, but they were acceptable. Now, on to the highlight: the Bucatini all'Amatriciana was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was even better. The spices were well-balanced, and the texture of the sauce was consistent, which isn't always easy to achieve with bucatini. My friend ordered the lamb chops, and oh my! I ordered the gnocchi and it was not good--both in texture and overall taste. It was barely touched. My partner didn't eat it either, and I ended up picking at his dish instead just to have something to eat. What was most disappointing was how this was handled. At no point was I offered a replacement dish or any real solution. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable--just a simple effort to make it right. They tried to respond to my Google review saying that I was offered another dish which is completely untrue. Afterward, seeing the restaurant respond publicly with an inaccurate version of events was honestly frustrating. It's one thing to miss the mark on a dish, but it's another to double down instead of taking accountability. We arrived for dinner at 6:00 pm. We ordered a very expensive bottle of wine $149. We ordered the same appetizer as the table next to us who came about 30 minutes after we did. After that their food arrived and we sat there for another hour. After they were done eating i proceeded to speak with the waiter to tell him we wanted our bill because of the wait, 2 hours for pasta? He told me because my wife's meal was gluten free it would take longer. Thats bs i have cooked gf pasta many times for her and it doesn't take longer matter of fact most of time it is shorter cooking time but certainly not an hour longer thats bs. After i told them we were ready to check out they sent a manager p who reaffirmed this and said "respectfully" blah blah blah blah. Your full of it. Right off the bat we ordered the same appetizer our guest next to us ordered and we got ours 30 mins after they did, same waiter and ordered it before them. Thats a lie.
