    Rainy brunch day.
    Kevin S.

Hi everyone. Happy long weekend. I needn't remind anyone I'm retired, so life's a long weekend. It was raining, it was pouring, this old man finished snoring. Looked up best brunch spots in the D. Overeasy was in there like swimwear. It was a very nice restaurant in a nice hotel. I dug everything about it. The service was spot on. Great coffee and they leave the pot on the table. No waiting for refills, just go for it. My eggs came out a perfect over medium. Yolks buttery, creamy, dreamy. Whites done. The pork sausage link didn't have a cellulose skin. Nice. Redskin homefries with sweet red peppers, caramelized yellow onions, sweet, savory seasonings such that ketchup would have been an insult. Nice comfy booth with elbow and stretchy pant room. Portion size was just right as well. I could have stayed there for days. Will definitely be back next weekend. Wait... it's always the weekend . Take care of yourselves. Yes, life is tough. No, do not give up or give in. Keep pushing through. Love your loved ones, strangers, but always, love your doggone self.

Ham and cheese omelet, potatoes, toast

This little restaurant was in our hotel so we decided to do breakfast there. It's a small cozy cafe. My wife got the omelet, with ham and cheese. It came with fried breakfast potatoes and whole grain toast. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered a single pancake. My wife's meal was absolutely amazing. Everything was on point and so much food we could have shared. My pancake looked good but the batter tasted sweet and it had powdered sugar on it. I'm just not that much of a sweet eater so I only ate half. The waitress was great and even the manager came by to get our drink order because they were busy.

Initially it was a longer than anticipated wait for someone to take my order - maybe like 5 mins or so. Once my order was taken, service was great. The food came out quickly and it was a great breakfast. I had the easy living - egg white, bacon, hash browns and toast.

This place was seated at the base of the base of a hotel and had plenty of seating inside (although of course it was busy during breakfast hours). I ordered an easy Living Breakfast; this is a pretty standard breakfast plate (Eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes). I was looking forward a hearty typical diner style meal that morning and succeeded. I ate at the bar and was served in a reasonable time, but notably the service was stretched in the restaurant. I likely wouldn't have noted this, but what was very apparent is that the gentleman that appeared to be the manager at this time was especially rude to his own staff, right in the diner floor. He berated at least 2 employees while I was at breakfast for pacing. While I think it is necessary to expect good performance from employees - there is a right and wrong way to do this (not to mention place - NOT IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS). This place could benefit from better supervisory Managment is my takeaway from this place. The food was as expected but the experience was less than could be desired.

Went on a Tuesday for my birthday so there wasn't a whole lot of people there (no wait). Walked in and was seated immediately which was great. We got our drinks (I got a mimosa and my friend got a mocktail), then received our food. The pancakes were pretty good, the bacon was okay, and I didn't expect the sausage to be that thick so that was a surprise but, it was alright. They were playing all of the throwbacks through the speakers so I loved that.

Very cool brunch spot inside the hotel. It's definitely the place to be and the food is delish. I loved sitting on the counter watching the kitchen staff. Service is great and with a smile. I will be back.

Stayed at the Statler Hotel in Dallas, TX and had to try the onsite restaurant Overeasy, an all-day breakfast. I ordered the chilaquiles with beans and egg, and it was a good pick me up. I love breakfast all day. The ambiance of Overeasy is charming and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. The service was friendly but slow.

    Half ass "stuffed" French toast

Bla....disappointing at best First "stuffed French toast" is bullshit. More like bricks of fried bread with a tenth of an ounce of cream put at the tip. Should be called "just the tip toast" because that is all you are getting. So disappointing. The lemon ricotta pancakes were good but they looked like someone blew a lemon curd load on them.

Wasn't crowded, got seated right away.. Friendly staff.. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was sausage, egg and cheese on a croissant . The sandwich was super huge!! The yogurt parfait was really good, I enjoyed it with a lot of honey on top gave it a nice touch.. Good experience and good breakfast spot.. Nice ambience, really chilled and not hectic.

Good food. Service was a little slow. They provide chicken and pork sausage options. The pork sausage is delicious. But if you love lemon ricotta pancakes, get them here! The lemon curd and blueberry compote is perfection! I went on Mother's Day, but super cute ambiance inside of a beautiful hotel.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon - was greeted upon entry and sat at the bar. My server was attentive and helpful when it came to my dietary needs! Food came out super quick too and it was sooooo good! Chicken fried to perfection. Biscuits were a little too crispy for me but that's alright. GRAVY THO! Was bomb af. I ran out quick to make sure to get extra when you go! Inside was super chill - modern vibes. Definitely a place worth visiting for Brunch!

    Power breakfast.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

If you hadn't told me it was duck, I probably would have thought it was chicken. The mimosa was a build your own, it came with 3 juices - orange, pineapple and cranberry - and you got to pour as much or as little juice as you wanted. Between the two of us, we each got about 3 glasses. I got the French toast, which tasted like a deep fried donut, in a good way. The outside was crunchy, the inside still had the pillow custard texture. However in my opinion it needed more of the apple pecan slaw especially if you weren't trying to drown them in syrup. My friend had the chilequillas which she really enjoyed but did mention a few times that it was a little spicy. We ended the meal with dessert which was rich and luscious but oh so delicious. It was a cholesterol mouse that was covered in a hazelnut chocolate shell with a raspberry sauce. Overall a great time was had & I'd gladly go back to try more.
