Outsider Barbecue was such an unexpected find. We were in Fremont looking for a casual bite and almost went to a brewery, but stumbled on this spot instead and I'm so glad we did. It's tucked into a more residential area near the Fremont and Ballard intersection, so parking is easy and free. The space is open and airy with garage-style doors, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and fire pits outside. It's counter service with bussing, which keeps things casual and easy. Even around 3 to 4 pm, there was a steady line, and I never saw it fully die down. Staff were friendly and confident in the menu, and one told us it wouldn't be our last visit. He was right. We ordered the corn casserole, beef rib, brisket, mac and cheese, collard greens, kale Caesar, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Everything was excellent. The beef rib and sausage were the highlights for me, super tender with great smoky flavor, and the sauces were spot on. This is some of the best barbecue I've had in Seattle. It's not cheap, but portions are generous and the quality justifies it. Three of us shared everything, had leftovers, and spent about $150 before drinks. They were sold out of the beef cheek, so I'm already planning a return to try more. Highly recommend if you're craving solid, no-frills barbecue.

Hands down one of the best bbq spot. Did we get too much food for two people? Absolutley! Did we regret it? Absolutley NOT! (Left over for dinner) Was it expensive? Yes; but its expected from most bbq places. This is a legit bbq place where they done the process right. Everything we ordered were delicious! And so so so tender! We can't even pick up a piece with a fork without it start to fall apart. We got brisket, glazed pork belly, beef rib, both sausages, and the beef cheek. We also got a side of the collard green. They all amazing. The beef cheek top them all though; its just so so so good!!! The place is really chill to hangout too; really nice spot to grab food with your friends/family and just eat good food and good drinks. Ohhh and the staffs? Super friendly! This will be the spot to go to whenever we crave for some good bbq; worth the drive.

Incredible Texas style bbq! Everything was super juicy and tender with really bold flavors. The giant beef rib is so good and the best bite. Brisket was also delicious and I would definitely come back for the banana pudding. They have a great indoor space and outdoor patio, which is also dog friendly!

One orig sausage, one jalapeño cheddar. 1lb brisket. Fries, pickles, 1/2lb pork ribs, corn casserole.

The brisket. Oooooh the brisket. Juicy, well cooked, flavorful, and fall-apart-delicious. I think the beef rib would have been equally good based on what I saw but we didn't get that. We also loved the corn casserole (warm, soft, creamy), fries, pickles, and mmmmmmm banana pudding. I loved the smell of the place, real woody campfire smells but nothing smokey or overpowering. It had an open wall even on a cool day which looked out on a fire pit. The staff was great, nice to explain things and let me pay for dessert and grab it at the end. On top of it all we were leaving and I showed my son the open room to the smokers. The pitmaster (owner?) was right there and invited us in, showed us the setup, and explained it all. Super nice guy and knows his stuff. So why not 5 stars? Mainly because of a couples smaller misses, the price, and that I've had lots of BBQ around the country and relative to that scope it's hard to go 5 in all of washington. The price isn't unusual in Seattle and if you got the sandwich meal you'd be right in lunch range anywhere. Skip the cobbler (heavy spice...clove?), skip the lemonade (it wasn't clear it was just a bottle of minute maid for $6.50), and I'd skip the pork ribs (and I'm usually a pork-bbq-only guy) and just go brisket. Sausage had some nice flavor, but casing was a bit much and I'm more a fan of hot links. Neither of us liked the BBQ sauce that much...not bad just not anything that popped. As I write this my son just warmed up some of our leftover brisket and said it was as good as yesterday. I smell it now and I'm fighting the urge to dig in myself. Go visit, get some brisket, enjoy.

Brisker, ribs and Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage with one side. $70+ with one beer.

People are raving about this place and since we love BBQ, we were really excited to try it. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. I've had some great BBQ across the country, and this one didn't quite measure up for us. First, the ordering setup creates a lot of bottleneck. While you're ordering, they're also trying to get your drinks and slice all of your meat in front of you like a butcher counter. In theory it's cool to see, but in practice it felt pretty inefficient and slowed the line down quite a bit. What you see in my photo came out to $70+ for one side and one beer, including tax and tip. Food-wise: Prime brisket - unfortunately very dry Pork spare ribs - probably the best of what we tried, but not quite the tender, fall-off-the-bone texture we expected Jalapeño cheddar sausage - the casing was very tough and chewy. Our knife couldn't even cut through it, so we eventually had to tear it open to get to the meat. Corn casserole - sadly not very memorable Overall, we didn't feel the meat quality or flavor matched the price point. One other note: customers also have to bus their own tables. I know many people really enjoy this spot, so maybe we just caught them on an off day, but based on our visit it didn't live up to the hype for us.

One of the best barbecue around. You can't get any fresher than cooked and pulled from the grill to the cutting board. Sides are amazing as well. We got there right when they opened so the line was not bad. Highly recommend!

My husband loved the food, but I thought it was very expensive for what we got. $30 for .75 lbs of brisket with no sides, $19 for a pulled chicken sandwich with fries, and $10 each for beer. Total was over $80 dollars after tax and tip. Can't return for a while at those prices unfortunately.

You don't need me to tell you that Outsider BBQ is a game changer in Seattle. Texas style BBQ a cut--actually many cuts--above the rest. This food is bonkers. Excellent, smoky, fatty, charred, dreamy. You can tell that it is made by someone serious as hell. Once, we showed up when much of their menu was sold out, so we were left to try the chopped beef sandwich, considered the dregs. It was so good, we almost couldn't understand why anyone would order anything else. But then, the next time, we had the brisket and the beef rib. If you have a chance to try the beef rib, don't miss it. Also, while you won't even need it, both of their house-made BBQ sauces are exquisite. Not cloyingly sweet, mainly an ode to black pepper. I agree with other folks that the sides offerings could be improved (and, given that this was the main critique even at the time of their opening but nothing has changed, I suspect the chef disagrees!). That being said, the corn casserole is comforting and totally unique to our food scene here. Plus, that thick banana pudding is exquisite, so it's best you save room from the sides for dessert. The chefs and staff are cool; they seem to like each other and work well together. And there's quite a bit of space inside and out, even at a busy time. What a joy to get amazing BBQ in Seattle. Outsider is legendary.

If you are looking for a BBQ joint - Outsider BBQ is the spot. Parking is only street parking. Service is fast. You order before you get seated and they prep the food infront of you. Love the open restaurant concept and dogs are allowed. Shared the BBQ platter for 5. We got the jalapeño sausage, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese and kale salad.

Came with a large group of friends to have dinner together. Lots of nice outdoor seating. Bathrooms available and water station to fill your cup and bring to the table. On a weekday night it was pretty busy! We found street parking in the front. Food was solid. The ribs were the best in our opinion because it wasn't as fatty. The brisket was extremely fatty so we were a little sad about that one. The sausage was tasty. The food is a little pricey but totally understandable because it's bbq! We really liked the corn pudding, banana pudding and the slaw had a unique and tasty flavor! Overall, solid food and a nice atmosphere to enjoy dinner with friends.

We came here after seeing an IG post and arrived around Saturday noon to a packed house. It's more of a self-service setup, but the staff were all friendly and helpful. We ordered a mix of meats--pork ribs, a beef rib, original and jalapeño cheddar sausages, and beef cheek--and the total came out to around $160 before tax and tip. One surprise was the beef rib pricing: it's sold per bone rather than by weight, and that single rib cost about $70. The beef cheek was incredibly tender, almost buttery in texture, while the pork ribs were the standout--flavorful, tender, and absolutely worth it. The beef rib was good but quite fatty and not something we'd order again at that price. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was solid, while the original was just okay. Overall, it's a great spot for group gatherings, and we'd definitely come back--mainly for the pork ribs.

This place has been on my list for a while and it was tasty. Good spread of foods, very filling. The sides are a little pricey and a little salty but overall still a good experience. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The game was on which was fun. I was quite sad they were out of ribs.

Pitmaster Tray (Serves 4-5).sub pulled pork for burnt endzzz. sides: mac n cheese, kale caesar.

get ready to search for parking, but it's worth it. great menu, great customer service, great vibes. got the pitmaster tray and it fed 4. no complaints. if we are in the pnw again we def stop back in.

Craaaazy expensive. $30 for a burger??? $46 a pound for bbq? Not nearly good enough to justify those prices. Go somewhere else.

They are kid and dog-friendly, too. We ordered an NA IPA (which they have on tap!) and their hop water (comes in a can). Both beverages were absolutely delicious. I love that this place is NA-friendly. They offer some light snacks and free pretzels, which is awesome for a brewery without a kitchen. There is a food truck on site, but it was closed when we visited. No worries, though, you can bring outside food, which is perfect since there are plenty of great restaurants in the area. I asked the bartender if they brew at this location, and he said they've moved all brewing to a different location in Seattle, but it's still super fresh and tasty beer all around. This is a spot worth visiting in Seattle or getting together with a large group for a few drinks. Plenty of choices for everyone!

There's also a fireplace with bench seating surrounding it. Plenty of picnic tables and smaller tables. Also a huge outdoor seating area with some cover.

This is a new favorite of mines. Been here 3 times so far and can't wait to get back every time…read more What I like the most about this place is the vibe of it all. It's not divey, but not hipster either which I really appreciate. They also play good classic rock in here, but switch the music to something up-tempo when it becomes evening. I feel that anyone can feel comfortable here. Ok so the food and drink. I was told that this is a whiskey bar, but I'm a tequila girl so I wasn't able to explore their whiskey library. I didn't want any of the happy hour drink options, so I just asked for a margarita and it was damn good. I had too many to admit on here. The main food attraction at Triangle Spirits is their fried chicken, which has been dubbed by some as the best in the city. You can get the chicken as a slider or sandwich, boneless skinless thighs on the happy hour menu (great deal of 10 bucks for 3 pieces and fries), or as a meal (dark or white meat with a side, or half a chicken with 2 sides). I tried the happy hour chicken basket and the dark meat meal. After trying both, I feel that the chicken on the happy hour is better than the meal. The happy hour chicken is boneless, very tender and more flavorful than their chicken on the bone. The secret mix of seasonings is more pronounced on the boneless chicken than it is with the bone in. The bone in chicken was just ok to us and didn't blow us away and it was also ridiculously expensive. I would not pay 35.00 again for what I tasted. The bone in chicken was fried well, but didn't have as much flavor as we were expecting. Also, the mac and cheese was the most disappointing. I suggest skipping that as it's obvious that the cheese is some kind or processed concoction from a box. This is still an awesome bar in Fremont. Stop in for a good time and atmosphere.

I've only been here two times and they were both for Happy Hour…read more The Happy Hour prices for drinks are pretty darn good. My go-to HH cocktail here is the Vieux Carré, but I like herbal sweet & bitter, so it's right up my alley. Currently there are five HH cocktail options and they are $7... hard to find in Seattle! I've also had the rainier & rye for $9- the rye is great, forgot to ask what kind it is. I've had a few other HH drinks, which were alright, but these stand out the most. As for food, I've only tried the spicy Seattle dog, and I would get it again. The hot dog is cut up & shaped weird (see photo), but it tastes wonderful. I heard the fried chicken is great so I'll try that next time. Also, I was excited to see that they had buckeyes on the menu, but they didn't have any when we visited. Inside is spacious and woodsy, & outside there is an enjoyable patio. Servers are nice and seem happy to be there, which always elevates my experience anywhere. I definitely recommend coming to Triangle Spirits for Happy Hour (available daily 3-5pm, dine-in only).
