Outback is one of my favorite steak houses. I love sirloin steak and very few high end places have that. I find that Outback is priced very reasonably and food is very good. Like I said it is one of my favorite places to go. I ordered a 8oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and a caesar salad and a onion soup. everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. This location is not my usual goto but it is just as good. The service was good and prompt. I would definitely go again and again. I do highly recommend Outback. read more

Our favorite restaurant in this price range was a huge disappointment. We were especially excited because the one near us closed recently and had to drive over an hour to visit. We visited on 9/19 for dinner, there were 8 of us. We didn't complain because there were just too many things wrong. This is the first bad experience I had at Outback in over 40 years as we started going to their restaurants for over 40 years. The only thing that was nice was them putting the birthday cake for my mom in the cooler until we were ready to serve it. Here are the problems we encountered. 1. We ordered 2 blooming onions, they were cold. One of them was over cooked, it had blackened area on it where is was over cooked. 2. The broccoli on my plate was cold and didn't look like it was ever cooled. Broccoli is one of the things that is usually good there. 3. My steak was over cooked as well. 4. Two of the other adults in our group did not enjoy their meals and will not be going back at any point in time. 5. We had three teenage boys with us that didn't each much of their food. I could they didn't like and lot a lot on their plates. We would have complained, but with everything so slow we would have never gotten out of there. Located at the intersection of Rt 22, 48, 76, & 376 next to Hampton Inn but not affiliated to the hotel. Decent amount of parking. Nice Aussie ambiance in the dining room. Service was slightly above average but didn't make up for the tough, over cooked steak and rubbery lobster tail. Tasted like it was microwaved. They occasionally run specials which is the only times worth visiting. Prices are high for the quality of steak you're getting from here. The only thing we enjoyed was the salad, bread and Bloomin Onion which was good but a little greasy. I don't see us returning any time soon. Sad because we really enjoy a good cut of steak. Hoping for Better Next Time It had been years since my last visit to Outback, so I was really excited to go back. The Bloomin' Onion was as good as ever crispy, flavorful, and still their signature favorite. Unfortunately, my steak was tougher than expected, and the service wasn't as attentive as I've come to remember from past visits. Visited the Outback Tuesday 7-14-16. The Meal was quite below standard. Must say our service was good quite proficient and friendly . There were 3 of us and all ordered the Tuesday special, Surf and turf with a vegetable and baked potato. The Steak was overly spiced to a point beyond edible the lobster was ok but slightly fishy tasting but had much too much paprika. We tried to enjoy the meal but were unable. WhenI brought this to the attention of the manager she said our food is boldly spiced. Id had it before. This was overly spiced. She also pretty much blew off my complaint. She gave me a coupon for a free appitizer on our next visit. Needless to say there will not be a next time. read more

This restaurant has really gone downhill. Today's visit failed on both service and food quality. We went for lunch, and it wasn't crowded at all. There were people at 3-4 other tables, so I'm not sure why it took so long for the server to come to our table after we were seated. We sat there for almost ten minutes before she showed and were already discussing whether or not we should leave. We ordered our food, and I showed her my military ID to take advantage of Outback's military discount. We then sat there forever waiting for our food. It wasn't delayed because of appetizers, because we didn't order any of those, not even a salad. Between being seated and getting our food, almost an hour had passed. I would have said something to the manager, but we never saw one. Usually they walk around the restaurant, and they always come to the table to verify the military ID, but not today. The brown bread was okay, but not as good as it used to be when it was served hot. When it's not hot, it's not as good and tastes dry. My steak had a lot of gristle, and I had to spit several pieces out because I just couldn't chew it. I think I got about three bites out of the steak and threw the rest away. I didn't complain because the server came by to ask how it was about a minute after someone had brought the food, so it was too early to tell how it was other than to know it was what we'd ordered, and (again) the manager was MIA, so couldn't tell him/her, either. I wouldn't have asked for a new steak, though, since we'd already spent an hour there. We had someplace to go, so I couldn't waste another hour. Granddaughter's steak wasn't as bad, but she did say that the steak she'd gotten at Olive Garden was better, which is sad. She also said she got more fries at OG and that Outback used to give her a lot more, but they were really skimpy on today's meal. We never saw our server after the first pass by, even for paying. Outback now has those machines where you pay at the table, so she didn't need to come by to make sure they got their money. Problem was, there was no military discount applied to our bill. Since she never came back by and no manager seemed to be on duty, I never got the military discount that Outback advertises it gives. I just paid the check so we could leave. We used to love Outback. Everything was very good! We were seated in a nice booth in bar area. Service was quick...bloomin onion came out hot and so did the wings. Salad came out right after apps and then our main course. I was at the outback steakhouse in Las Vegas and hated the dreary, dark lighting. The outback steakhouse in Monroeville is a lot more brighter cleaner, crowded busy, which makes the service poor and the food code. I don't recommend it. I haven't found an outback steakhouse yet, but I'd really like I remember being here years ago and enjoyed it but I don't think it's gotten better. I am a guest at the Hampton Inn, which is attached in the same building as outback. I'm really sick and have zero energy to get myself dinner to take my antibiotics. I called over to outback and asked if there was anyway possible that I could get someone to deliver me dinner over to the hotel even though I know they don't have a delivery service. Do not come here. They could not handle a large party at 2 tables and they were very very rude. Our chicken sandwich was raw and it took an hour to get a second one. They would not allow us to order dessert because they said the kitchen was closed. Because it took over 2 hours to get food. They had no capability of splitting the checks after they said they could. Our to go orders are always done properly and the food is always hot and delicious! We always get our food without seasoning due to dietary restrictions and the staff prepares it on point! Also, the to go staff is forever pleasant and accommodating! They will bring your food out to you rain or shine. When we got there we had to wait for a table at least 15 minutes at the most. our server was kind. We ordered our food at at least six. We got our food at 7:30 so that was a big problem. Another downside is everything was spicy and it really is not the best thing they didn't have anything that didn't have some kind of spice on it, and I did not like that at all. I haven't been to outback in a gooood while and boy, I forgot what a gem it is. We used to go to OB all the time when I was little, so not only is it delicious, but full off nostalgia for me. In classic Sheffler fashion we all got steaks. I got the filet Sheila which was soooo GOUD. Super super flavorful, cooked to perfection, topped with a delicious peppercorn sauce and provolone cheese. We went on a Friday night and we were greeted and seated within five minutes of arriving. Phylisha was our waitress and she was personable, friendly, and fast! We ordered the 8 oz. Filet Mignon, baked potato, and seasonal vegetables. I order the baked potato and seasonal vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. I ate here several times through April and May as I was staying at the Hampton Inn right above/next to it. I was in to hang out with my illin brother - the troublesome and lovable middle child. He ate here with me, despite the fact he couldn't eat much, and the also lovable Big Mike M was here and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Heather was working the bar every time I was here and she's a talker like she's had no one to talk too in days Lol, however, she's also the most on it waiter ever - if I even thought about something I needed she was bringing it over or asked if I would like another. She was awesome - even in, or especially in my depth of thinking about the past and what will be the future - easy now, I'm out of that thought mode and back to reacting to live as it throws me against the rocks. The steaks were always tender and delicious, I'm more of a Filet Mignon guy, lower fat, good tender juicy meat. I thought it was done well - er medium rare was spot on, the salads were crisp and 'felt' healthy, and the wine list is ...........pretty decent for a chain restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pa. They always had a feature wine that I was happy to have a glass of - I didn't experience any of the badness that these other diners did - I've eaten at these places all around the country, some are better than others. For the limited choices in Monroeville, Pa this is easily one of the better choices and had better hours than the other restaurants. I think there are 3 or 4 decent restaurants in this area so very limited, I was very thankful they were there and that Heather, whom is too damned bright and cheerful (I needed it) was so spot on with all of it. read more

I swear I have bad experience at every outback. My expectations were low but now if I ever come back it will be set lower. My buddy's steak was like barely cooked. I got a burger and it was awful. It tasted so bad and the "pickels" were cucumbers, the lattice was so horrible. The service was horrible they give you the food and leave also it took 10-15 minutes to get my drinks and they all were water and there were like no people in there. Sure, get us a blooming onion thing - greasy, but a tasty accompanying dipping sauce. Entrées ranged from salmon, to steak, shrimp and ribs. Tasty enough, served hot and prepared correctly. Drinks refilled, bread resupplied. It was later, and I'm not the biggest fan of floor sweeping in my meal eating proximity, but maybe that's just me. We visited today 5/22/23 for our 12th anniversary, everything was great until our dinners arrived. I understand with the economy and inflation..but food shrinkage is real at Outback. Very small portions especially with chicken breast. Was told they cut it in half! Spoke with the manager and he made it right..but all I wanted was a reasonable piece of chicken. All around terrible meal, sad part the table next to us had issues also. Best part was the drinks and the appetizers. I waited over 10 years to go back I assume that was not long enough as I was not expressed. As for the layout it's the same boring layout and not ever worth your time. All three of us ordered the same food, sirloin steak with coconut shrimp. The steak was rubbery the cook was good on the steaks but the steak itself was gross. The mashed potatoes my two other patrons ordered were so sour like it was made with spoiled milk. The manager didn't even come over to see about the food. We asked for steak sauce and it never came. Our family of six lives just down the road in Monroeville. We've been once before so we knew our kids were well here. Tonight was great! We love the Bloomin Shrimp is wonderful and of course we took out at least 5 pieces of bread. Steak and shrimp, chicken fingers, fries, fruit, broccoli and a baked potato ... all great. Potato could have used some more toppings. Parking lot looked full but sat right away. Restrooms were clean and also were nice. The booth we sat in was also great. The first 30 years of my life, I have never once been to an Outback Steakhouse nor had the urge to try it . I've worked in many fine dining restaurants so i must admit I never thought highly of this place other than your typical chain restaurant. Came to the Monroeville location due to a gift card we received , and I must say I was thoroughly satisfied . The bartender was a super energetic woman who was extremely nice and helpful , the positive vibe she gave off made all the difference . I ordered the wedge salad and ahi tuna appetizer . My husband ordered a Caesar and steak quesadilla , all of which was delicious . We both wanted the smaller portion but were never asked upon ordering so needless to say we forgot and ended up taking most of it home , which is no big deal but I could see how that may be an issue to some. It would be nice if the bar was a little bigger but overall , I have no reason to give this place any less than 5 stars . No it is not capital grill nor Monterey bay, so if you want to pay $50 for a dish and quiet atmosphere, then maybe not venture here . Otherwise , great place and great food ! read more
